[Souji is, surprise surprise, in the di-- Actually, this time he's in the kitchen. For a change of pace. He's got the device propped up on something so that he can talk at it hands free. Sitting in front of him is a piece of the rainbowiest rainbow cake a person could possibly make.]
Today is my sixth anniversary.
[He nudges the cake a little toward the camera.]
So I made cake. There's plenty of it, so I'll leave it here in the kitchen in case any one wants to have some.
[With a smile that seems quite tired, he shifts the cake to one side, and glances after it. With his gaze still cast away from the camera, he asks:]
How long have you been here? Do you want to go home? [He looks back at the camera again, his expression more thoughtful than tired now.] I'm kind of...doubting myself in that regard.

[action]
Did you want me to worry?
[action]
[Worry was a source of stress and Souji wanted things to be easy and calm for Minato.]
[action]
[They left Souji. Why couldn't Souji just leave them either?]
[action]
[What he doesn't say--at least not yet--is that living in his parents' house, even when it was empty, might be better than living alone. Though on the other hand, living alone by choice might be better than being alone because his parents were simply too busy to be around.]
[action]
[Besides throwing money at him sometimes even they even remembered that they had a son.]
[action]
[Souji wasn't sure why he felt like he needed to defend them. Probably just because they were his parents, and for no other reason. He owed them a lot, whether they were around or not.
He shook his head.]
It doesn't really matter. I'm not really considering them when I think about my future anyway.
[action]
Minato pointed over to the dock where they could sit. Like before. Like old times, if they had those.]
What'll you do after you graduate from the university?
[It wasn't that far off either, considering. Finishing the last year of high school and finishing university work was shorter than Souji's entire stay in Wonderland.]
[action]
[But he wasn't set on that. It was only the vaguest of ambitions, if it could even be called an ambition.]
I guess I have another year at home to think about it.
[action]
[Minato thought Souji was patient and kind. He'd be great as a teacher.]
I want you to think about how you can be happy.
[action]
Is it that important to think about it now?
[He was happy in this moment. Should he worry about the future when time didn't pass here? Or was it really something he needed to have on his mind? Was it a bad idea to leave the future so uncertain? To have no real, tangible goal for himself.]
[action]
Mn, maybe not, especially if we won't remember.
[Whatever decisions or plans he made here about the future, Souji might forget them all. Minato might forget everything too and was more likely to, in any case.]
I remember everything here though.
[action]
[Even the bad things. Even the things that hurt. He wanted to remember everything, no matter how hard it would be to go back to his normal life with those memories.]
I need to remember.
[action]
Maybe a piece of me will always be with you.
[Even the tiniest piece of him might help.]
[action]
It will be. You will be.
[action]
When we're together again at home, I'll never leave you.
[action]
[Souji lowers his leg, both feet dangling now, so that he can lean into Minato as well.]
