[Gabriel's up on the roof, with the sky behind him and a treeline visible far below. He's keeping an eye on things, like the people who are holed up, but he still doesn't feel the need to be involved. He's up here for a breather. He's got a new sword, he's well on the way to being patched up — if it wasn't all-horror, all the time with this event, things might be approaching decent. You know. Maybe.

And while he's up here...]

So. Can't help but noticing that every time people make a bogus guess, a death critter gets released from the door. This is just a suggestion, but maybe you guys should, you know, collaborate before you throw random words out there. If a giant death manatee or a killer cow comes out next, don't say I didn't warn ya.

This is why we can't have nice things, kids.

[Well. Doesn't this one think he's funny? Of course, seeing how he's supposedly Loki, it really shouldn't be any surprise that he's decided to make a video message purely to take stabs at everyone else.]

At least an attempt to guess is better than doing nothing at all. I'd rather work at something than sit around on my hands.

[She may be slightly bitter that all of her attempts were way off, and guilty that her bad guesses led to the release of yet another creature. But she still doesn't think this kind of attitude is helpful in any way.]

... Why are you up on the roof?

Thought I'd get some air. And let go of some friendly advice.

[He seems pretty unconcerned, though he's definitely amused that so many are debating the point.]

How do you know I haven't guessed, anyway? Maybe I just feel bad.

[And... yup. There's a pretend pout to match.]

Call it a lucky guess. [From what she's observed so far, he's the sort who would rather watch from the sidelines and make remarks than get involved himself. But that's only what she's picked up on, based on this message he's made.]

You do know that there's a flying creature on the loose now, right? [The roof is probably the worst possible place to be at the moment.] Or are you not concerned because you'll heal from whatever it does to you?

["Loki" glances around. Shrugs.]

Looks like it's elsewhere right now. And yeah, I noticed. Kinda the point of this little transmission of mine. How's your clinic holding up?

[The question surprises her. While he's an observer, he does seem to notice quite a bit, and so she pauses for a moment before replying.]

It's fine. We've had quite a few people volunteer to help out, and I've got some insurance in case either one of those things gets too close.

Insurance? Should I ask?

[Gabriel wonders about visual puns, like feeding the critters insurance agents. Yeah, that's where his head goes.]

[Your headspace is just a weird place to be, Gabriel.

Not that Martha's aware of that. She's reluctant to explain, but now that she's brought it up she can't exactly backpedal.] A friend of mine brought me a sonic blaster that one of the closets gave him, so I can use that if either one gets too close.

[He waggles his eyebrows.]

I do like a lady who can handle herself.

[Martha just heaves out a sigh. Now really isn't the time.]

Not you too.

[He puts up a defensive hand.]

What?

Seems like I can't go too far in this place without running into that sort of behavior, that's all.

[She may be a little irritable because it's been a long couple of days and now here's someone who's essentially just made this broadcast in order to mock them. Martha realizes it might have been in her best interest to not take the bait, though.]

I got plenty more where that came from. But c'mon. D'you expect trapped people to act any different?

[Gabriel just grins at her, now.]

My guess is that you behave that way whether you're trapped or not. [He's not so different from Jack in that way, but Martha's just not in the best mood for it, not when there are dangerous monsters about.]

In any case, I think you'd be better off trying to help with the riddle than judging everyone else for their poor choices.

[Oh, great, they're back on this again. Humanity. Isn't it enough that he died for you? His name isn't even Jesus.]

Isn't that the biggest schtick humans have? What if I just want to judge who Wonderland's next top model will be?

[Normally, maybe Martha would have indulged his behavior. Maybe she even would have joked with him for a bit. But right now there are two dangerous creatures racing their way through the mansion, and she can't really afford to put up with someone's ego.]

Then go right ahead. [She just doesn't want to be a part of it, so she cuts the feed.]
