[George keeps this message short and sweet. It doesn't need to say much to get what she needs across. The raw, puffy mess of her face and the pink of her eyes more or less says it all. Before she speaks, she takes a brief moment to swipe a tissue over her nose, then:]

And to think, I missed my body when I couldn't do this last night.

Just. Saw Reggie.

Your sister...? [Bummer.]

[akapeanut]

Yeah. She, uh. She was kind of a weird kid. I mean, it wouldn't really surprise me if she...if she did that.

[It's just that it'd probably be George's fault. Because she died. Because she gave Reggie that obsession with death.]

[eatsyourscience]

...If she killed herself? [Was that what George saw?]

[akapeanut]

[George's face crumples as fresh tears burst forth.]

Yes.

[eatsyourscience]

...You want me to come by?

[akapeanut]

[Heavy, rapid nodding.]

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji heads over there right away without responding. A couple minutes later, he knocks at her door. He has a bag of cookies.]

[akapeanut]

[George lets him in, closing the door behind him and then leaning heavily into Souji's chest.]

It'd be my fault.

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji puts his arms around George, relieved that they have their bodies back now.]

It wouldn't be.

[akapeanut]

Well, not like. Like it wasn't my fault I died, but. If I hadn't she wouldn't have been so obsessed with death and shit so...

[Even as she says it, she hears how stupid it sounds. But she'd had so much time to think on it in the robot-armor-thing when she couldn't mourn properly that it's compounded in her mind. Guilt upon guilt. She's almost more annoyed at herself for feeling so shitty than anything.]

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji lets out a silent sigh through his nose and strokes her hair a couple of times.]

But it didn't happen. And it isn't going to happen.

[akapeanut]

I know. I know, it's stupid.

[She lets her head rest on Souji's shoulder for a few more moments as she gathers the courage to move away. Once she steps back, she tries to change the subject-- to get the previous stupidity out of her mind.]

You're probably explaining this to everyone, though. I'm sorry. You-- who did you see?

[Souji's definitely done a lot of explaining, but he's willing to do it again if needed.]

My cousin. Nanako.

[akapeanut]

I'm sorry.

[She moves to her bed and sits, motioning for Souji to follow.]

You don't have to talk about it if you don't want, but. But you came here and that's...more than I probably deserve so. It's the least I can do.

[Souji takes a seat on the bed next to George.]

Why wouldn't you deserve it?

[akapeanut]

[She hesitates, not sure how to put it without sounding dumb. But there doesn't seem to be a way, so she just lets out a bitter laugh and says it:]

Because I couldn't save you in the future that might not even happen? And that seems like it was...the...only reason I was there...

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji considers this, blinking.]

I don't think that was your fault.

[akapeanut]

...No. I know. Not like it even happened yet. I just feel weird about it, I guess.

[She's quiet for a moment, not sure if she should mention, but...well.]

Did James...tell you about the future at all?

[eatsyourscience]

He told me a lot. About the Jabberwocky and that you and I both died.

[akapeanut]

And that's, uh. It?

[Wow, way to sound like you're fishing, George.]

[eatsyourscience]

[Strictly speaking, James hadn't told him that he and George were together--he only barely implied it, by saying that George was with them because of Souji. So Souji isn't putting things together just yet.]

What else?

[akapeanut]

[George watches him silently for a moment, but there's no point. Souji's always been as honest as possible with her. It's not different here.

She just doesn't know if she should mention it.

Maybe not yet.]

Nothing important. Just...wondered if he said.

[George wonders, if the situation had been reversed, if Souji would've immediately told her. She isn't sure. Omission isn't lying, exactly.]

[eatsyourscience]

[Souji's pretty sure there's more to it than that--George isn't the most subtle person he knows--but he doesn't push the issue. Not just now.]

He didn't tell me much outside of what happened to Wonderland.
