[ The video starts up with Charlie looking pretty cheerful. She's got some plans, guys. ]

What's the haps, Wonderland nation? [ She's feeling especially silly today, but that's all due to the purpose of this video. ] So, one of our esteemed bartenders is having a birthday in a few days, and I thought we could surprise her with a little get together!

Nothing fancy - mostly beer and good food. Simple and fun, a bunch of pals getting together. Gonna happen tomorrow night, starting at 8 pm at the bar.

[ And here she shifts her weight a little, feeling kinda bad but knowing Jo wouldn't want people to come by willy nilly. ]

Invite is for friends only. Sorry, any enemies or demon types.

[ And there she ends the video with a happy little Vulcan salute. ]

Um. I'm sorry, but--there's been a murder on the fifth floor. [There can be no other word for it. This violence, this cruelty can be no accident.] I found the victim. Sam. It's Sam Winchester.

[God, what is she even saying? Cami, of all people, should be able to put these words together better.]

Please don't come up here unless you absolutely have to. I'm near room--[A pause, as she looks for the nearest door] Room thirteen. I don't know who did it; there wasn't anyone here when I found him, but someone did. So please, be careful.

[When the video starts the first thing people will notice is the music playing in the background. Yes, you are dealing with a huge nerd here. Then you get Billy's grinning face, and Teddy in the background....holding a green lightsaber?]

Hello Wonderland! So, now that we all seem to not be puppets anymore, I figured it was time for a little announcement. As some of you may remember Teddy and I threw a movie night back in August featuring sharks and tornados. Since that seemed to go so well we've decided to host another one this coming weekend.

I know, I know, it's Valentine's Day. And what better way to spend it then watching the greatest love story of all time? [Don't argue with him on this, Han and Leia will always win, okay?]

Star Wars. [Why yes, he's pausing for dramatic effect.] The Original Trilogy, to start anyway.

Now I'm sure some of you have seen it already and some of you haven't but theres no excuse to miss the best scifi movie of the twentieth century. Besides some lucky guests may just get a lightsaber of their very own. [Cue Teddy swinging it around in the background.]

We're starting Saturday at noon, so anyone who has a special someone can swing by and still have date night. There will be food and drinks and awesome movies.

About five months ago I asked about your worlds and how magic was involved. If you weren't here then we can get to that.

( It's all for science!! )

While it gave me something interesting to read it's only half of the story - or theory. Some worlds seem to run predominantly on magic, like here, but there are some worlds where magic doesn't appear to exist. I'm not going to get into a magic versus science debate but I would be interested in knowing the other side of the story.

And, as always, everything is private. Until there's results.
Where are you from?
When are you from?

Are you familiar with magic at home? (Not from stories)
If yes, is magic a secret or public knowledge?
If yes, does daily life use magic or science/technology more?

Were the kitchen appliances something you had seen before?
If no, what would you have used instead?
Do you consider the appliances advanced, common knowledge, or out-dated?

If someone were to contract an illness would your world be able to provide medicine/a vaccine, instantly cure them or other? (If other please explain)
Has science ever gone too far/wrong?
Obviously if you have other examples you can list them. It would be interesting to see how worlds are different even for people at the same time, and if anything did influence that change. Or if it could be useful here.

And if you did miss the last poll you can always fill that in too.
Where are you from?
When are you from?
Did you already know about:
    Magic?
    Supernatural creatures? ( e.g. nazi vampires )
    Other non-human things? ( e.g. gods )
    Portals?
    Resurrecting the dead?
    Reality altering?
    Alternate/pocket dimensions?

[It's been a long, long time since Angel has made an appearance of any kind over the network. Normally, that's just down to the fact that he's not a social person; certain aspects of the network devices still frustrate and elude him and it's not often that he has much to say to the mansion at large, but what he has to share now has a lot to do with the other reason he's been scarce. It's been months since he's been himself, and in the week that he's had his soul back -- or was it longer, now? -- he's been withdrawn, hidden away in a room that isn't even his own, drinking animal blood far, far away from any of the resident humans, doing what he can to wean himself back off the taste that Angelus had re-awakened in his absence.

When the feed first opens, early on Tuesday morning, it's only voice, and he sounds even grimmer than he usually has in the past. It's certainly a far cry from the biting, tongue-in-cheek cheer that Angelus had displayed.]

I know there are a lot of people here who probably don't want to hear from me anytime soon.

[It feels strange, to be preparing to apologize for something almost exactly a year after he'd played a part in bringing Tom Hanniger's rampage to an end, but he had always known that this was a possibility. Here or anywhere else, there was always a chance Angelus would get out, and it might even be worse that he had waited months to hurt anyone, that he had replaced Angel for months and done damage simply by demoralizing the people Angel himself cared about.]

And I know an apology isn't enough to make up for what's been done. The last few months, the last weeks-- [He lets out a muted noise of frustration. He's not good at this, at articulating himself, at trying to express that he wants to make things right.] I can't undo anything Angelus did. I don't expect forgiveness, or anyone's trust. It's not that simple. But I wanted people to know-- I am sorry, for what he did. I'm willing to keep my distance, stay away from anyone he might have hurt, but I also--

[He sighs.]

From here on out, I also want to offer my protection. That might not be worth anything to some of you, and that's fine, but making amends for Angelus-- [That's all he has. For a long time, now, it's seemed like that's all he ever has.] I don't know if I ever truly can, but it's my job to try and atone for what he's done, regardless. What I've done.

[But that's not the only thing he has to address the network about.]

The other thing is...

[He sighs heavily, slowly, and suddenly the video feed goes live, revealing that instead of a six-foot-plus vampire, the phone is being operated by what is most definitely a puppet. A frowning, poofy-haired, caveman-foreheaded puppet.]

This event is, uh-- it's my fault. These are my memories. [And they're really, really stupid.] I'm sorry, they're-- look, just try not to touch or look directly at any television sets. That's probably safest for everyone.

(OOC: Responses will be coming from [personal profile] smiletime! If you want action anywhere within the mansion or grounds as opposed to talking over the network, Angel can bump into your character wherever and whenever you like, just include the time and place in the header!)

[ It’s not every day that the people of Wonderland get good news, and boy has Dean gotten some— at least according to his brother. It’s why when the feed clicks on, the view is of both brothers leaving the Mansion, their destination becoming clear within the next few seconds. Parked just outside sits a car, black surface shining and spotless and perfect.

And Dean? Dean looks beyond excited, breaking away from his brother with a few quick steps as he approaches the newly arrived vehicle. Like a kid in a candy store, he huffs a laugh as he approaches it, hand reaching out to touch the Impala the moment he’s close enough, an undeniable gasp leaving him as he does. ]

Baby

[ Anything and anyone else seems to be forgotten after that, Dean’s focus entirely on the car. He all but embraces it, whispering —Sorry I left you, I’m back now, you’re so beautiful, I’ll never let anyone hurt or touch you again — things to what’s arguably a third Winchester by every standard except blood.

The reason it's all being recorded in the first place is due to Sam who, though the network can't see his face, has the whole scene playing out via his camera. The younger Winchester, who'd spotted the car earlier, just scoffs in honest disbelief. ]

Told you. I wouldn't've believed it, but... yeah. Guess she left it behind.

[ "For us" goes unspoken after the exceptionally awkward story that she'd elected to share with everyone. It's a backwards kind of bittersweet now that she'd gone, gifting them their literal mobile home. ]

Just wanted you to see it. I'll give you two a room.

[ With a little laugh, he turns away as if to head back inside. However, the video from the device switches to another recorded feed, one from a camera that Sam had stuck within the car before bringing his brother out. Apparently edited for content, a song queues up in the background to overlay the scene.

And what a scene it is. Anyone who actually decides it’s a good idea to keep watching will be subjected to more of, well, what’s already been going on. Dean’s all but kissing the car, rounding around the back until he’s at the driver’s side, then slipping in to sit behind the wheel. Hands feel down the steering wheel, then the side compartment — his cassettes, yes — and every inch of the car. All with Dean looking as if he’s been reunited with a long lost friend, words of affection still whispered to the car in a hushed tone.

Shh, this is a private moment. ]

[When the video starts, James is outside, bundled up in a plain black cloak and leaning against a tree. It's a little cold, but not unpleasantly so, but there's one big draw to making such a broadcast outside - privacy. He's out not so much because it's a pleasant winter day, but because he doesn't want to be accidentally overheard.

That's how much he's been fretting about this. There is exactly one person in all of Wonderland who shouldn't hear this post, and he feels like she's going to sneak up behind him at any moment. But, he has no idea how to go about any of this at all, and it shows.
]

Hullo, Wonderland. I, err. ...Need some advice. Romantic advice. An absolute shocker coming from me, I know.

[He tries to laugh at himself a little to remove some of the awkwardness, but it doesn't work very well.]

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, I assure you. And if we could keep this between us, and not mention it to Lily, that would be fantastic as well. [He can't help smiling a little at mention of her, though he does peek off into the distance to make sure she's not coming.] I'd rather keep it a surprise, and that'll be hard to do if she knows about it. Thanks.

[It's a video post, showing one smiling, neatly preened Richard Roman. If he's disturbed by being dragged into a new place, this one isn't showing any sign of it. Dick looks like he does this every day for a living.]

"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other," is always a good quote to inspire to. Good old Abe Lincoln coined that one.

[If there are any from his own Universe who had a hand in his downfall, they should be prepared to read that quote for the threat that it is. The suited man merely looks at the leaflet in his hand before grinning, throwing it casually over his shoulder onto the floor.]

So it looks like I'm at your mercy when it comes to knowing what the deal is here, or however it is the kids say it these days. I could sit and read leaflets all day, but I always find the more personal approach to be a better method. Though go easy on me with all that information, wouldn't want any of it to get lost in translation. The name's Richard Roman. Oh and please, call me Dick. We're going to be in this for the long haul.

Okay, public service announcement, here: if you don't filter or lock your messages, we can all see them. And read and hear them. Which usually doesn't matter, but just... I mean, if it's quote-unquote sensitive information, you probably don't want it on the public network. And we don't, either. Usually. And even then... I mean, there're a handful of tech-savvy people in the mansion, so even if it's encrypted, it still could be, you know, decrypted. I'm just saying, it's almost always better to talk in person if you're making big plans or swapping secrets.

That said, does anyone know the network's origin? I mean, I never pegged the Queen of Hearts or the Duchess or whoever to be good with computers. It had to start somewhere, by someone who knew what they were doing. It's a pretty complicated system.

Just... don't tell me it was "magic." [ Sigh. ]

[When the camera first turns on and the feed starts rolling, the shot is very unsteady, and gives the viewer a very shaky view of the sky and some nearby treetops, and a voice can be heard just offscreen.]

Greg! Greg, no don’t- don’t put weird things from your pocket in your mouth! We don’t know where these things even came from!

I thought it might be candy! Hey Wirt, have you seen Agent Seaweed? I can’t find him.

Uh. ...No, I haven’t. [He doesn’t sound like he cares all that much. There’s kind of someone more important missing.] But where’s Beatrice? Wasn’t she right here like a minute ago?

Hmmmm, I had him when we passed that one tree, and the other tree, and the rock, and the branch… [[This boy sounds a bit younger than the other one and is clearly only barely paying attention.]

This is bad. This is really bad.

[Since the device is very obviously not candy, the angle changes and for a second a teenage boy can be seen, wearing a blue cape and pushing his hands up under his tall red hat to tug at his hair nervously.]

Greg, Beatrice isn’t here and she’s the only one who knows how to get to the ferry! We’re lost, again! I-I’m pretty sure we walked by here already anyway...we must have gotten turned around somewhere. I guess….

[A small hand appears in the frame for a moment, pointing.]

Oh, I bet they’re hiding in that huuuge house up there, like hiding hiders. Whoa, it’s almost as big as Unkie Endicott’s mansion!

[The camera abruptly goes bouncing away, catching a retreating view of the boy with the conical hat.]

W-Wait, Greg! Greg, hold on!

[Despite his protests, it sounds like the taller boy is following right behind whoever’s filming without actually doing much to stop him.]

We can’t just go running off...though, huh. I guess...I guess she could be there? Maybe?

[Meanwhile the younger boy is calling for Agent Seaweed, whoever that is. A particularly lucky shake of the camera reveals a glimpse of the boy’s head. If you thought the conical hat was weird, well, this kid is wearing an upside-down teapot. He’s also humming an odd, jaunty tune to himself as he trots along toward the mansion.]

Greg, stop shaking that thing around. You’re going to break it, and I’m pretty sure they’re not ours to break.

[Without being able to see him, he sounds very bossy and annoying, but to be fair he would probably sound that way even if the viewer could see him.]

[[Then the one named Greg apparently stops running with a curious-sounding “Hm?” and he peers down at the communication device, turning it around and over. It’s the first good look at his face; he looks to be maybe five or six. And yes, your eyes weren’t deceiving you, he is still wearing the teapot.]

Hey, Wirt! What does it mean if this candy thing is glowing?

Huh?

[There’s some footsteps, and then the older boy (apparently named Wirt) is looking into the camera too. When their faces are next to each other, it’s clear there’s about ten years between them. Wirt raises an eyebrow and looks down at the device and then gasps when he realizes what’s happening, panic filling his face.]

It’s recording. G-Greg, it’s recording us, turn it off!

Ohhhh-kay!

[And then the device goes sailing away through the air as Greg tosses it with all his might. There’s a horrified gasp from Wirt.]

GREG, I-I TOLD YOU NOT TO BREAK IT-!

[It’s the last thing heard before the device crashes into a nearby bush and shuts off on its own.]

[When the feed opens, Jo looks a little worn around the edges. She's pretty sure that look is going around at the moment -- the event had been a hard one for a lot of people, enough so that she'd almost considered not issuing this invitation at all, but she and Tohru had discussed it and decided together that sticking with the original plan was probably for the best. Events came and went all the time in Wonderland, and deciding not to deviate was probably the best medicine for any ills this one had caused. Still, there was a little more weighing her down than just that. She hadn't seen or heard anything from or about her mother in days, and considering they hadn't been on the best terms lately, it had her stomach in knots.

She clears her throat a little before putting on her best face, offering the feed a tired but genuine smile.]

I know this probably feels a little bit last-minute. Ned and Tohru and I have been talking about it for awhile, and I'd planned to say something earlier, but things came up.

[The event, mostly. She's pretty sure she doesn't have to elaborate on that.]

I've heard people talking a little about Thanksgiving, and awhile back, I talked to Ned about hosting it for everyone, like some of us helped Dean do last year. We'd talked then about wanting to make it a tradition, do it every year, even for people who don't normally celebrate it, and I wanna hold to that. The bar is huge and has room for everyone -- I'd like to do it there again. I know some people here have family or friends they'd like to do their own gatherings with, and we don't want to interfere with that, so--

[She pauses, the mention of family making her smile flicker just the tiniest bit before she reinforces it.]

What I'd like to do is host it tomorrow, the day before Thanksgiving. Some people have family here, either biological or otherwise, but not everyone does. I know not everyone gets along, but for one day, it would be nice to be able to put everything aside and check our problems at the door. Remember that we're all in the same boat, just for a little while.

So-- no matter who you are, whether you celebrate Thanksgiving back home or not, everyone is welcome. Food will be on at about three PM, and while we've got some stuff mapped out, we're glad to accept any help that anyone else wants to offer. Everyone is free to contribute and come to spend as much or as little time with everyone as they'd like.

[Weapons will be checked at the door, just in case, but otherwise the open-door policy stands.]

There's no telling how long any of us are stuck here. Some of us have been here a long while, others are new, but whether we like it or not, we're a community. It would be good to focus on the upsides of that and remember the good parts about being in Wonderland, instead of letting the bad weigh us down.

[personal profile] breakthecurse
[It took two days for Tohru to heal and awaken, which is at least one more day than many people might have expected of her. Tragically, she was killed once before though, and this is her second death, and thus requires an additional day.

Late at night on November 1st, air rushes into Tohru's lungs and she jolts awake, sitting upright as adrenaline courses through her. But Angelus is gone, and she is alone in her room. She touche her neck gently, expecting it to hurt, but the wound has healed. She is alive again, though she is sticky from the blood she had been laying in and more than a little shaken.

She keeps to herself for much of the day on the 2nd, still unsure of how okay she truly is. Death is always...difficult, for many reasons. It leaves her thinking about a lot of difficult things. She spends much of the night talking to her mother's picture, seeking imaginary comfort from it. She showers and washes all the blood from her hair, and exchanges her sheets for clean ones because something about the mundaneness of making her bed is calming.

It is a while before she can approach the network without trembling, but eventually she does. At first she isn't certain what she wants to say, or how much she wants to reveal to the public at large, but...she feels she should say something. Her usual energy is gone, and she's quieter today. Upon reflection, she realizes there's really only one thing she wants to say at all.
]

Um...hello everyone. I...I-I just wanted to, ah.

[She looks down at the floor.]

I just wanted...I wanted to thank whoever moved me, a-and put me in my bed. Thank you very much. I don't know who you are, but...it was really kind of you.

--projection of some kind?

[Today listeners are treated to the sound of a voice in the middle of a sentence. Male. English. Unintentional, from the sounds of it, and audio only. Someone's goofing around with a device, must be a day that ends in "y." The experienced network user knows the signs of someone grappling with the devices' level of technology for the first time: accidental button mashing, weird sounds and even weirder videos, the wide, uncertain looks, the yelling...

In this instance, when the video function comes to life it's not precisely accidental and there's no cursing or someone furiously shaking the machine like the answer to their kidnapping will fall out of it, but you do get the speaker's keen stare, face looming large in the camera like a pale moon. The young man's gaze flicks from point to point in a stern examination before a woman speaks from outside the frame, drawing it toward her.

(The apparatus, it.. displays moving photographs?)

She is near enough to the doctor that her voice could be heard on his recording, but not loud enough to be discernible.]

Like this? That would be-- [Something to see, he is about to say, but someone seems to be catching on to the physics of the video camera despite a disadvantage of about forty years. He finds the zoom out function and the pair of intense blue eyes fly wide.] Oh, now that is fascinating. Come look at this!

[As he lifts the camera, it captures his partner, a woman in a Victorian era dress. Her expression is serious, almost reticent.

These two have clearly got the market cornered on death stares.]

Doctor?

[The grass is soft under her shoes as she moves, stopping when she is close enough for the camera to capture a more detailed examination of her dark, unruly hair and austere expression.]

Is it photographing us as we speak?

[At the realization that the device is actively recording the woman, she retreats back to where she had been standing. She is reluctant to have her photograph taken, even more reluctant to have it taken multiple times on such a small, and strange, device.

The pair have not yet picked up on the fact that others can see or hear them, and responses will be received and answered to, in all manner of confusion and curiosity.]

[The screen turns on to show a young fair-skinned blonde woman sitting in the first floor Tea Room, seeming perfectly at home. There's a rather large pile of books and binders next to her on the couch, most of which are scholarly articles or academic analysis of the world of Alice In Wonderland, as well as the book itself and all related works. Someone's been busy. There's also a few Halloween editions of popular style magazines scattered about.

Dressed
casually with wavy, shoulder length hair, Caroline looks bright and awake, eternal optimism shining loud and clear, even when the frustration at her current situation comes through in her voice.]

I thought it was about time I introduced myself on here, so hey. I'm Caroline Forbes. Former Miss Mystic Falls, current Wonderland captive. Libra, ex-drama major, big fan of these cookies. [She holds one of the cookies from the tea room up before taking a bite, chewing, and pausing before speaking again. She's got a lot of energy and bounces a little in her seat.]

Okay, so, if the calendar's correct, that means I've not only missed my birthday, which sucks, [no it really sucks she's actually upset about that, but she's staying focused ok] but that Halloween's right around the corner. Which means costumes and yes, a party. I happen to be great at parties, so I've already started planning the end of the month Costume Ball. [So excite. Are you excited, Wonderland? You should be!]

But, since I'm not in Kansas anymore and, instead, living in a very real version of a child's whimsical nightmarish fantasy, I'm kind of at a loss as far as predicting the unpredictable elements, which I'm also usually great at. [She sighs, and sits up straight, pleading in her eyes.] So, fellow residents of Wonderland, help a newbie out? And don't skimp on the gory details. Is this place going to ruin our Halloween party? If so, how, and would moving the date back a few days maybe lessen the risk here?

Let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

[On a more serious note..] Anyway, what do people do for fun around here? And is anyone working on a way to go home? Like, researching this place, separating fact from fiction, searching for a metaphorical or possibly literal rabbit hole, or looking for answers in general? It had taken a while for her and Rebekah to find their way out of the tunnels - much longer than she was comfortable with, especially with panic riding her, clenching tightly about her chest. While the vampire goes about getting answers her own way, Hayley paces outwards - not drifting too far in case Rebekah needs to find her if she's more successful - but enough that she can start using her own senses for answers.

Why she's here, for one. Who she has to bribe/threaten/kill to fix it. And what they've done with her daughter.

The werewolf senses she has are what she's always relied on, but even those are enhanced these days -scent, sound, speed. Eventually she'll find someone who has the information she needs. There is always someone. And she's tired of being hauled around with no say in the matter and expected to stay put. Those days are over and it would be plain suicidal to underestimate her now.

[II. Video]
[The video feed opens up with Hayley looking a hint more composed than she'd been on arrival, although the strain is still there and visible, a worried frown wrinkled across her brow. Her lips are pressed into an unhappy line as she addresses the Network, needing confirmation on at least one of the answers she'd gotten so far. In her opinion, the most important piece of information.]

Okay so. I need to get something straight here, because it’s really kind of important. Is it true that time pretty much stops back home while we’re here? I mean, when – if – we get sent back, it’ll be to the moment we left, without remembering this place, and we’ll find everything just how we left it?

Because there’s someone back home I’m worried about. Someone not here with me, or with the people that have come from the same place as me. Leaving her there without us… It’s not exactly safe.

So yeah. I guess I’m just… hoping someone can confirm that for me. It’d help me sleep better at night. So… thanks.

[She manages a small smile that’s hesitantly hopeful a moment before intending to end the feed. She hesitates though, adding one more thing on there, because manners, oh yeah, she has those. Somewhere. Occasionally.]

I'm Hayley, by the way. Sorry about all the threats by my friend earlier. We may have sort of jumped to the worst conclusions upon arriving. [And Originals aren't in the habit of apologizing to anyone. Hayley hasn't quite gotten that knack down yet.] Elijah, Klaus, if you can hear this... Let me know if you're okay?

[ Back at Hogwarts, Astronomy was one of Remus' best subjects. That's not to say it was one of his favorites, but out of necessity, he'd become quite adept at studying the night sky. That's why, after he'd taken the time to settle in, he'd asked his closet for a telescope and started hitting the roof after sundown. Most nights he could be found up there, studying the moon and stars. It was for this reason that he'd been able to calculate when the next full moon would be (rather sooner than he'd like, but there was no changing that), and also made a fascinating discovery.

One night, from the roof, he decides to share his findings with Wonderland at large. He pulls out his cell phone and records a video. ]

Has anyone noticed that the stars keep changing? I mean, night after night, the constellations are different. Sometimes they're not where they ought to be, and sometimes I see ones I've never seen before. I'd thought maybe I could try and learn where Wonderland is, geographically, but I'm more confused now than I was when I started.

[ He ends his broadcast, then, fiddling with the settings, sends out a message to his friends. ]

[ Private to James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew: ]

The full moon is the 8th. That's this Wednesday.

[ ooc: feel free to run into Remus either on the roof, if your character is so inclined, or in the stairwells with his telescope! ]

[Over the past weeks, Kaneki's managed to calm himself down enough to venture to address the network. He's ensconced once again in the library, this time at a table, with several stacks of books in front of him. He's using one of them to prop the camera on

For once, he looks pretty upbeat. This is pretty much paradise to him, in this moment.]

I've been looking around the library for awhile now. There's so much here! I keep getting lost, heh.

[He smiles, looking embarrassed, and continues.]

I don't really know where to start, so I wanted to ask for recommendations. I read all kinds of things, so anything will be welcome.

[He reaches to turn off the camera, then remembers:] Thank you in advance.

[ video on! after a beat of looking directly up at the sky, a handsome blond man comes into view. he seems to be in the gardens, and his expression is one of mild puzzlement. just visual in the frame is what looks like -- red shoulder pads, the beginning of Thor's cape, and shiny silver heavy-duty armor.

Heimdall will not answer him, which could mean any number of things, but given that this is most certainly not where he expected to find himself...

Thor glances up, then back down at the device, and clears his throat ]

Is there a... Jane Foster here, by any chance?

[ dean’s looking the very part of a paranoid hunter when the feed clicks on, rushing down a hallway with a gun firmly gripped in his hands. he’s definitely not about to take any chances with what’s going down at the moment, the invasion of mirrors becoming more and more obvious. when he speaks it’s in a low, rushed voice. ]

I know the numbers are changing, but betting this is still a good time for a head count of the non-fake variety. Unless of course asking that triggers some kind of a goddamn identity crisis for our less than welcome guests from the great Wonderland mirror-y beyond. [ not that he really gives a flying fuck if it does, tbqh. ]

So— Sam? Cas? Jo? Whoever didn’t get their ass replaced by their Twilight Zone version, now would be a great time to know.

[ of course, telling the difference can be a little difficult too, in some cases, and more might come crawling through still. but a beat follows, as he rounds a corner somewhere in the mansion. ]

Oh, right— whatever you freaks are after- [ which is the sword because of course it is ] -whatever your mission here is that you’re scared of failing ‘cause the Queen on the other side might give you a spakin’ if you do? It ain’t worth the hell I’ll show you if you mess with our chances of findin’ that goddamn sword.

[ just a fair warning. or threat— whichever.

the feed ends with that. ]

nascensibility: it's not like we don't have flashlights ([ LIBRARIAN INTENSIFIES ])

Hallo. Erm. I have...multiple announcements, I suppose. One is that the book club we established months ago, which fell to the wayside when there was an unfortunate incident at the library-

[Murder. It was murder. And she found the body. Let's move on.]

-is going to start up again. I've posted a sheet on the library doors for people to recommend books they would prefer to read and discuss. Secondly, and more importantly, I know that just about everyone has noticed the riddle the Duchess left. Far be it from me to encourage the scurrilous behaviour of questionable individuals, but those of us who have been here for some time know better - when last we were given a riddle, Wonderland was plagued by all manner of unfortunate fictional monsters.

[The late and grieved Mark Meltzer, in all his investigatory influence, has left a lingering effect on his pupil and peer, who appears steadfastly determined to solve this particular puzzle before any more beasties burst forth from the Mansion's belly.

It should be noted, dear listeners, that Evelyn is planted firmly in front of her library niche, where a good portion of the wall has been taken up by papers and notes, some of them a year old and others freshly scribed, a few bits of red string linking facts and events together. Is it the work of a professional archaeologist and researcher, or a manic conspiracy theorist?

You decide.
]

I've begun compiling old notes from the last riddle and put them alongside my notes from this one in the event there are connexions. There are a number of hidden words and statements, you see- the...the most evident of these are the bolded letters that form the word "mount," the green letters that spell "closet," lower and upper letters spelling "liar" and "old," et cetera. But there- there is absolutely more to this, more than I thought there was-

[She reaches for two larger pads of paper, one of which has a series of zeroes and ones with text beneath it, the other dots and dashes accompanied by tiny notations that detail the numerological meaning of the number eight.]

There is further hidden text. Holding a finger over the word "true" in the message, there appear ten figures of three dashes and two dots, Morse code for the number eight. Over the word "cost," there are dozens upon dozens of ones and zeroes. It's a binary code!

[If she looks frightfully ecstatic, it's because she loves being smart.]

I've translated it to uncover a hidden poem which may, perhaps, raise more questions than it will answer them, but I should like everyone's input. This is something we have to solve together.

[He's been around long enough, investigating everything long enough, Kyubey finally feels like it's time to make his network début. So, despite not having any hands or opposable thumbs to speak of, he hits a few buttons with his paws and starts up a video broadcast.

Round, red eyes stare into the camera, over the network, and you through the screen. It's understandable if anyone is made uncomfortable by this sight.

Tilting his head, he begins to speak, though his mouth doesn't move.]

Everyone here must have a wish. Something they want more than anything, even something they'd be willing to trade their lives for.

[Starting off a little cryptic... And not exactly subtle.]

For many of you, I'm certain one would be to return to your own world and leave Wonderland behind. But there must be others, as well.

[Ones he can actually grant... You know, in exchange for your souls.]

I'm curious. What wish would you have granted, if given the opportunity? And just how much would you be willing to put at stake for it?

Have ghosts ever happened before? I thought when everyone died they just came back.
It was the first time that I've died here. I don't really know what it's supposed to be but I guess it wasn't what I expected.
I didn't expect to be a ghost.
Unless that was the horror part.
Has anyone been there before to know what else happens?

Considering that it's obvious that not everyone is from the same type of place, and about half of everyone here didn't know about any kind of magic before getting here- ( It's okay, neither did she ) -it would be interesting to know exactly what there is, and what's possible in worlds. When things get brought here knowing about it first could be useful.

And before anyone asks, no- it's not going personal. I don't care whether you're part of any of the questions just what you already knew and what's possible. It's from a science perspective.

( Which she will tell you about if you actually ask because no many people care about Wonderland physics )

Where are you from?
When are you from?
Did you already know about:
    Magic?
    Supernatural creatures? ( e.g. nazi vampires )
    Other non-human things? ( e.g. gods )
    Portals?
    Resurrecting the dead?
    Reality altering?
    Alternate/pocket dimensions?
    Something 'unusual' not specified?
( Yes, half of that list is also magic related but specific can be very helpful )

So fill it out. And yes, giving examples would actually be helpful. Any questions?

[Henry has decided that the first thing he needs to do in this place is reconnect with the people he apparently knew in this place before, because if he's going to start trying to figure things out, even if that just means piecing together the whole two times he's been here before, then this is how he starts.]

Hi! I'm pretty sure some of you already know me. I'm Henry. And I guess I've been here before, but I can't remember it. I've been here twice, and I don't remember ever being here. So, if you knew me, or if we were friends, can we meet? I really want to talk and if we were friends before, who says we can't be again? So, I'll be in the library if anyone wants to come talk. Or you can just send a video back.

[Before he finishes the video, he has one more idea.]

Oh! And if we met when I got here this time, you can come too.

[He almost adds 'unless you're Peter,' but then he thinks that might cause more harm than good, so he simply ends the video with a smile.]

[ Charlie's been pondering for a while, and with that pondering comes some questions.

Nothing too serious, of course. This is about fun.
]

Your friendly neighborhood Charlie here! [ She gives the camera a little wave as she shows up on the network. It's still kinda sorta weird to facetime the area at large, but hey - when in Rome. ] Got a question for everyone. If I were to start up, say, a friendly game of D&D, would anyone be interested?

Or, even something extra awesome - like paintball! [ It's an idea that pops into her mind as soon as she says it, and her eyes light up. ] We've totally got enough room to spread out, get some teams together. Just seeing if there's any interest before I start getting down to the nitty gritty of planning and plotting and scheming.

[ Obviously, not the nefarious kind of scheming. Just some harmless fun times! ]

[ Arya...has no idea what she is doing. It's plainly obvious that the device is confusing to the dirty little child grasping it, with it held far too close to her face as she squints as if it were a dangerous weapon. She's out of her depth, but that won't stop her. She's determined to find some kind of answers here. ]

Hello? Is anyone there? [ She's shouting far too loudly, loud enough in fact that it's almost difficult to tell what she's saying given how close she holds the device to her face, but she presses on. ] I was told this contraption had answers, but I can't find them anywhere.

[ If she seems disheartened, it doesn't last, and the only indication that there is anything wrong would be the way her jaw tightens slightly, and how her voice slightly drops. She has to get through this. ]

I'm looking for the kingsroad. It... It's very important that I find it, but I've never been to this part of the country. Am I in the south still?

[ That seems to be all for now, but after fumbling with it a little and glancing around her, Arya adds in a quick, hasty voice: ]

Oh, and if someone would point me in the direction of a horse. I have the coin [ that's a lie ] and I can pay well. Uh...thank you?

[ And on that lovely note, Arya finally figures out how to end the feed. ]

[The video feed shows Lily within the confines of the library, seated at one of the many tables there beside a large window, the curtains pulled aside to let sunlight spill in across the table, which is covered with stacks upon stacks of books. Magic, as it turns out, is far from a taboo subject in this place, something she'd picked up on day one, and as of late, she's been doing a bit of research. The library, while not particularly helpful in telling her much about Wonderland itself, has a wealth of information about other worlds, not to mention various kinds of magic.

From the looks of things, Lily has been here awhile. She's wearing a pair of black-rimmed reading glasses, and there's a half-empty cup of tea sitting beside the book in front of her. Food and drink might have been banned from the library at Hogwarts, but here, who's stopping her?]

Hello, Wonderland. I was wondering if I might take a moment or two of your time.

[Ha. Ha ha.]

It came to my attention some time ago that the kind of magic I'm used to and the magic that holds this place together are very different. I've also heard that there are other people here in the mansion who are familiar with their own sorts of magic, some of which is entirely wandless or requires components as though the spells themselves were potions.

I've been looking through just about everything the library has to offer, but I'd like to learn a little more about magic theory and how the different types compare -- I thought I might write about it. If there are any of you out there who might have information you'd like to offer up for that sort of compilation, please, let me know. Chalk it all up to curiosity.

[Action:]

[For the rest of the morning, Lily will be bent over one of any number of books at her chosen table in the library. Around noon, she can be found outside near the garden with her lunch and some more recreational reading material, and during the afternoon, she'll be investigating the lower levels of the mansion, including the tea rooms and the basement, should anyone happen to come across her.]
