[That was no small comet that hit the checkerboard hills, that was an angel who was actually aiming for a car that was speeding down Highway 94. Talk about missing their target completely. In any case, should you check out the anomaly, whatever caused it is gone.

Around this time the network devices go a little haywire, glass starts to break. When a voice finally comes through, it’s not pleasant at all. But just as it becomes unbearable, it stops.]

[Oh look, it's that guy again. Yeah, you know the one. Or, maybe you don't. It doesn't matter. He's addressing everyone in Wonderland from a large, open room. It isn't his usual workshop, cluttered with tech. This looks more like a conference room...]

Some of you know me as Tony Stark. Some know me as Iron Man. Some know me as an Avenger. Some know me as just that pompous dillweed that keeps addressing the network like you should know me. Or, y'know, your Flying Professor. I'm all of those things, honestly. --except the professor. God forbid. No one in their right mind would let me teach kids. But more importantly, I'm observant.

See, as an Avenger, we're supposed to protect people. We're supposed to be there when you need us and I'm looking around right now, seeing mentions of deaths and honestly, we're doing a pretty shitty job at our job, aren't we? Granted, that was prior to our little magical vacation that I'm still coming to terms with. Anyway, it's true, we're just a few people with extraordinary skills, but we can't be everywhere at once. Some of us are too self-involved to notice when shit is going down around us and focusing on our own issues is putting us in a position to let everyone else down. For the record, that's me I'm talking about, not pointing fingers at anyone else.

So, when the mirrors dissolved several weeks ago and that massive influx of people flooded our not-so-peaceful little Wonderland, people died. I, myself, had a rather unpleasant interaction with my mirror and it occurred to me that I got off lucky. Now, you're probably thinking, What does this jerk know about my plight? Okay, fair enough. But I've seen whispers of mentions of needing a police force, or some way to hold people accountable for their actions in the past. Nothing very put together seemed to have been done about it. Until now.

Where I'm from, you have an organisation called SHIELD. Strategic Homeland--well, the acronym doesn't really matter, because it's an ideal. Yeah, there is always trouble in paradise, but having lived it, I know what to look for. SHIELD, Wonderland Division, would be an active group of people you could call upon for help. A research and development team would work on ways to passify rogue mirrors that happen to our side of town. We'd look for ways to help you without pushing the boundaries of invasiveness. It's a delicate balance, and I'm not saying it would be easy. There will be trial and error. There will be people who disagree--there always are. But I'm proposing a possible solution to work alongside the Avengers to protect the people.

Anyone with skill and proper training would be eligible. You'd have to be willing to be on call and you'd have to be willing to put aside some of your time to train with other skilled agents. I'd outfit everyone with the most effective, lightweight gear with the only stipulation being you use it to help, not hurt. Any abuse of power would be dealt with swiftly. If you think I can't deactivate my own tech, you'd be wrong. I once hosted a spectacular Christmas fireworks show using my own suits. I want this to work. I want Wonderland to be as safe as we can possibly make it so we can focus all our resources working to keep the public safe when Wonderland throws its little events at us.

If you're interested, please contact me. If you have any questions or concerns, I'm here to answer them. I've already constructed an emergency call line that will, with the help of a special device, transmit your location in relation to transponders I've located in a grid across the grounds. One press and a specialised team will dispatch to your area immediately. It's not a flawless system, and I have my doubts it will do much good during these events, but it's something.

Consider this the act of someone who has made his fair share of mistakes and wants to do what he can to prevent future ones.

I'll make this quick. It's Ellie. I've got the guy who was... in the library. He's someone I know, somebody from my world, and he's not a threat to anybody anymore.

[ Probably not reassuring, considering how much actually happened before she was made aware of Joel's arrival, but... better late than never, right? ]

He acted like that 'cause he was looking for me. He thought I was in danger. If you're gonna be pissed at someone, or feel like you need to get revenge on someone, then blame me.

[ Not that she'll lay down her life (or, one of her lives) for somebody pitching a fight, though... ]

I'm watching out for him now. Nobody gets to see him and nobody is allowed to come after him. If you try and do anything to him, you have to go through me, and it'd be pretty shitty to kill a kid over this.

[ They're in a world now where people don't actually kill kids, so she figures it's safe to play that card. With that, and with a decisive sniff, she closes the feed. ]

Hi. [ This isn't awkward at all. ] My name's Peter Petrelli.

[ A few hours ago, he had walked through Isaac's front door, expecting to confront the painter in his loft only to end up in Wonderland. He had wanted to get out of New York, but this place (whatever it is) isn't what he had in mind. ]

I need your help. It's important.

[ If he's going to explode, he can't risk being around people. There's a slight chance that he's just having another one of his dreams right now, but he has a feeling that this is all very real and he needs to be prepared for the worst. ]

I've been walking around and aside from the forest, is there any place else a person can go to be alone if they needed to get away? Preferably somewhere miles away from civilization... [ It's a weird question to ask, but hey -- stranger things and all that. ]

Also, if anyone has any idea why we're here or what we're supposed to do, I'd appreciate any information I can get. [ Back home, he thought he'd finally found his purpose: save the cheerleader, save the world, but things hadn't turned out the way he hoped it would. Still, he'd like to believe there's a reason why he's here. That there's a reason why they're all here. ]

I could really use someone to talk to. [ It's been a hell of a day. Or month, more like. ]

Hey, Wonderland. For the new people, my name's Sam, and since you might've not had the "demons 101" talk, that's what I'm getting into today. Veterans can tune me out... or listen in, I guess, if you need a refresher. I'm doing this now also since all the demons from my world aren't around to be dicks about it.

[ Thank God for that. ]

My friend Bobby said once that demons are just "ghosts with an ego," and that's true, but they're also really dangerous. They used to be human and got... messed up in Hell, so with most demons - let's just say all demons to make it simple - there's no appealing to their human nature. They're all about carpe diem when they get up to the surface again and not much stops them from having their sadistic ragers unless they've got another agenda.

[ So stop trying to be friends with demons, people. ]

They don't really have a form of their own, so they appear like black smoke unless they're possessing someone. If you think someone's possessed, you can test it out: holy water, salt, and iron will injure them where it obviously wouldn't hurt a human. You can get them stuck in a devil's trap if you're smart about it and can exercise them after that... though, honestly, I'm not sure it'd work here. Wonderland doesn't seem to have a direct line to Hell. Still, it'd at least get them out of whoever they were possessing, but you have to have the time to go through the whole song and dance. I attached an image of a devil's trap and the text for the exorcism so you've got them. The devil's trap... can just be drawn, so it's usually a good idea to put one under something like a welcome mat, or up on the ceiling above your doorway.

[ Sam pauses, frowning. ]

This is getting long-winded. [ sigh ] How about this: I'll write up a guide and send it out to everyone. In the meantime, I can take questions. [ He nods slowly, still frowning. ] Sounds like a better idea.

[Unless it's not a phone? She doesn't remember seeing the familiar phone icon, but she could definitely record...]

Oh, I see, there we are.

[At least it's a decent interface -- intuitive and easy to use. One flick on the screen, and the camera shows Jemma -- still a little dirty, tired, and worn down, but determined.]

I'm not sure what this device is or to whom I may be speaking, but my name is Jemma Simmons. I'm an agent of SHIELD, and was until recently on an alien planet. My team managed to retrieve me, in particular -- in particular, my... Leo Fitz. We left by the portal he entered, and I wound up here.

[She pauses, swallowing. She hopes she is showing herself to be calm, but feels like it might all be written on her face. And to someone especially perceptive, it may be.]

I'm assuming -- hoping -- that he was dropped elsewhere, and that one of you might know where he is, or he might have the same access to this... network that I have.

I suppose I'll... I'll be waiting to hear. One way or another.

Greetings. [ Comes the voice and face of Robyn Cousland, looking chipper enough for someone who has recently lost her three closest friends from Wonderland. Her hair is braided neatly and it's evident she's outside somewhere from the glare brought on by the sun high overhead. ] After my conscription, I picked up a few new skills here and there, but nothing in as much depth as I'd like. [ There just hadn't been time for thorough weapons training, not when you're responsible for the general welfare of a country. ] I think Wonderland may be a good chance to try that again.

I have extensive training in crossbow use and some in short and longbows, but I'd like to branch out to other areas. I learned a little with daggers and knives in Ferelden, but I'd also like to take up with a smaller sword and shield, at least, if anyone trained as a warrior has the time. Shepard can be seen coming in and out of frame, seeming to be putting a few things in a duffel bag. It looks like she could be cleaning, if her hands weren't shaking and she wasn't muttering to herself something that's not being picked up on the recording. It doesn't take her long to notice the device is on, and rolls her eyes as she picks it up, addressing the network but still looking more serious than her usual playful demeanor shows off.]

Sorry about that. Damn thing isn't working right. Though, good timing, because I was gonna ask something anyway.

[She shifts, trying to look more nonchalant. It doesn't come off perfectly to anyone who's paying attention.]

Anyone know any good places to relax in this place? Still a little messed up from that last event. Wonderland really knows how to throw us for a loop. Looking to chill for a bit. Let me know. Might not check this thing a lot in the next couple days to try and get my mind off things.

[She will, of course, be ignoring all suggestions, because what's really happening here is a thinly veiled panic attack, and she'll be running off to her battle tank. Aside from responding to the main prompt, anyone who might know where she is can feel free to find her holed up in the Mako. [As always, Souji's in the diner, but sitting in a booth instead of behind the counter. Since there's no one there at the moment, he's more hanging out than working.

There's a thick volume on the table in front of him and though the contents isn't clear due to the camera angle, it's easy enough to guess that it's a photo album or scrapbook of some kind. There's also a not entirely ancient Polariod camera at his elbow. He flips through the thick pages of the album as he speaks.]

The last owner of the diner had this tradition of taking a picture of everyone who came in and putting it in this album. I found it and her camera behind the counter a few weeks ago, but with events and everything I forgot about it.

So, I realized recently that we've got a problem. People here get excited about the closets - "cool, I can get a... damn miniature unicorn out of them" - but I think we can get a little irresponsible about it. If you're pulling living things out of the closets, then they're your responsibility. Don't dream up a hundred and one dalmatians if you've never taken care of anything before.

[ God knows these people can barely take care of themselves most of the time (Sam himself included). ]

That's not even getting into whether or not they're really... real; this isn't a discussion about the actual animal status of Wonderland animals. [ He pinches the bridge of his nose, feeling a little headache coming on. ] What I'm trying to say is that you get a few pets, fine, and then... one day, you might leave for good. Then, we've still got Fido here without an owner. I'm planning on setting up something in the basement that can help with the animals that're left behind. Maybe just like a doggie daycare sort of thing. I can't be there all the time, so... if anyone else is interested, maybe we could set up shifts, figure out what we've got, here.

[ There's a thoughtful pause. ]

If there's something a little more dangerous than dogs and cats, we'll deal with that, too. For now, just let me know if you want to get involved, or if you've got someone's pet with you that you inherited and can't really take care of. We can't forget about those guys.

Her dark hair is pulled back from her ghostly white face and pale blue eyes that are normally accentuated with black eye makeup, appear to be lined with blood. Her tongue flickers out over dry, cracked lips and the picture is shaky, as if the person holding the camera has unsteady hands.]

Aren't you supposed to take the red pill before you wake up in bizarro land? [The woman trying to inject as much vibrancy as she can manage into her voice, despite the obvious struggle to do so.]

There should at least be food. Like, nachos. Why don't any of my kidnappings ever come with nachos?

[The shake of the camera worsens as she pulls one hand away, trying to rub away the evidence of what had happened before she woke up here.]

As comfortable as this floor is... if somebody could point me in the direction of food? [Aware of how she looks, her hand vaguely gestures to her face.] It's okay. It was just a minor case of Fae plague. A burger or six and I'll be good to go.

( spoiler warning for Blindspot season finale!)

[ The device in his hand is familiar enough. Not exactly like his phone from home, but close enough. Everything about being here is highly suspicious, and he does wonder for a moment if he had more to drink than he'd realized. But arresting Jane was real. That happened. Taylor is dead by his father's hand. He can't escape any of those truths.

But given everything that's transpired in the last twenty-four hours, this amounts to an actual kidnapping in his mind, and he's not sure who the hell would have brought them here, and why. He'd suspect Jane of orchestrating this somehow, especially since she's nowhere to be found, but even if she played a part, she wouldn't be acting alone. ]

I'm Kurt Weller with the FBI. [ Which...is probably redundant. Whoever took him knows exactly who he is. He's here for a reason, he's sure. All the lies - someone's trying to ruin his life, destroy him, his team, his family. But he's been given free reign, seemingly, and a device to communicate with people. None of it makes sense, and making he's just playing into their hands, but for now, this is all he's got. ] I don't know what you think you're gonna gain from bringing me here. [ He's concerned for his team, his family, but for the moment they're not here at least and he has to believe they're safer than he is. ] If you hurt my team or my family, I'll come for you. I won't hesitate. So start talking, tell me exactly where I am and why I'm here.

[ He thinks for a moment about Jane. He doesn't trust her at all, he doesn't know how dangerous she is, and he's tempted to warn anyone else who might be listening and want to escape this place as much as he does. But he needs more of the facts from her, he can't just spout out their business to a network of people he can't see, and certainly trusts even less than Jane. No. This is between them, no one else. ]

And for anyone listening who's trapped and needs help, come find me.

[ He's in the gardens, the mansion clearly seen behind him. If anyone is even listening out there. Probably just his captor(s), having a laugh at his expense. ]

[It had been the right thing to do. For everyone. He wasn't safe, couldn't trust himself, and while he hadn't wanted to do it, it had been the only choice. But he's been in and out of cryostasis enough to know when coming out this time isn't the same. It's not just the breeze on his skin causing his too-long hair to dance across his forehead, or the sweet, dry smell of fruit trees. No, it's the way he wakes up. Slow, naturally, like he'd slept the whole night through, and there's nothing normal about that.

The communication device his fingers are curled around doesn't bother him. Bucky's used to not remembering things, but the stalls and the vendors with their strange shapeless masks who stand nearby do. He walks past one, their face completely smooth, as featureless as a blank wall, and his breath catches in his throat, freezing him in place. There's a million explanations going through his mind and none of them make any sense except one and he doesn't want to think about that.

It takes a vender getting too close before he snaps out of it long enough to go through the motions. Better clothes, sweats and a white tank aren't cutting it, and a relatively safe place to hide so he can figure things out, grabbing a pamphlet on the way.

Bucky's face is half-hidden when the feed starts, voice low, and he wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't necessary. He was on shaky ground and he needed something to steady him.]

Name's Bucky. I'm looking for someone. Steve Rogers.

[It's risky to put it out there like that. He doesn't know these people and he's been alive long enough to know that even the prettiest people with the brightest smiles can be hiding the worst lies and secrets. But he needs to find someone he remembers. Everything is muddled and this place looks like something his mind has made up.]

He might go by Captain America.

[Just in case he's alone in Wonderland, he adds a little more.]

If someone could tell me what the hell's going on here, I'd appreciate it.

[There's a brief pause. He considers mentioning the obvious physical difference that would set him apart, but they'll figure it out when they see him.]

I'll be on the first floor, entrance hall, if anyone wants to talk in person. This way's fine, too.

[ooc: spoilers for civil war possible in this post; if anyone doesn't want them, please let me know.]

[ It's many hours after she arrives in the gardens that Robyn remembers the network, that she thinks to pick up her device and to send out a message. She's freshly washed and no longer dressed for a fight, but when she does show her face, there's something distinctly different about it. Where she had just a week earlier seemed a little more the overeager girl, today she seems a great deal more Grey Warden than anything. ]

Greetings. [ Robyn speaks, tone crisp and polite, but almost distant, as if she's mentally somewhere else all throughout. ] I'm sorry if I... worried anyone. I've been told that I've only been gone a week, but as I suspect many of you know from experience, it was a little longer than that where I was.

[ She pauses, then scoffs faintly, shaking her head. ]

Well... to be honest, I couldn't say how much time passed. Maybe it wasn't so long after all. It felt like... ages.

[ Considering all that happened in Denerim with Howe, Loghain, the Landsmeet, and... the battle to follow. ]

I've come back unharmed. [ In case anyone had seen her earlier and was concerned about the amount of blood she'd been wearing. ] And... I hope the week has been kind.

[ Considering just before she'd left they had been tempted down into the Deep Roads, it's only fair that Wonderland let the lot of them off the hook every once in a while.

Robyn seems as if she's about too end the call, but she hesitates as something seems to come to mind. ]

Has... anyone seen my dog? I can only imagine what he may have been up to in the meantime...

[After months of attempted planning (most of which was frequently cast to the wayside in favour of dealing with whatever fresh Hell decided to make itself known to them all) Evelyn has come to the conclusion that there will never be a "Good Time," and has therefore decided that with that being the case, it is simply easier to set what she likes, when she likes.

This is all a very runabout way of saying that Evelyn has politely asked the Mansion - which, as we all now know, is practically sentient - to deliver the following invitation to everyone's door:
]

[Intangible* attachments have also been forwarded to each resident, supplemented by the following transmission:]

I'm holding a fête this Friday evening - there isn't a particular time for required attendance, it should be ongoing for several hours after dinner - and I should like as many parties as available to come. It is themed, as there are a number of us here from time periods before 1950, so appropriate attire is encouraged, but not mandated.

[This is in part due to a withering homesickness that Wonderland itself has been unable to satisfy.]

Kindly respond if you do plan to join, and I hope to see you all on Friday.

[When the video comes on, Shepard is outright laughing in absolute joy. She also doesn't look like she's anywhere familiar to anyone. The wall behind her is solid, and it looks like there's a seating space behind her, and it's... moving? The whole camera seems to be shaking a bit and there's a pervasive hum throughout, but she just looks more jazzed than anyone has ever been. She's muttering at first, but picks up when she's sure it's on.]

Alright, finally got signal--
So! When they said treasure, I was kinda expecting gold or literal gems, but this is way better. Check this out.

[The rumbling comes to a stop and Shepard climbs out, and slowly, the whole picture comes into view. Shepard stands in front of it, proudly.]

This is the M35 Mako. A fully armed battle tank. I haven't had access to one of these in a long time. [She's back to laughing while she talks.] I have no idea why this was down there.

Anyway-- comms are down, so I'm leaving this message here. I'm going back in with this. Anyone needs evac, let me know. I can cover a lot more ground with this thing.

... And hey, when this is all over, I'll be more than happy to show everyone how to make it do a kickflip.

[ooc: feel free to send action starters to this thread if you'd like your character to be picked up! you can also respond to it late after the event has ended if your character is just interested in the Mako in general.]

[Beatrice is sitting in her room, looking skeptical. She glances out the window.]

Are people actually stupid enough to go into the strange caves that appeared?

[Of course they are. Never underestimate how stupid people can be.]

I mean, it's an actual avoidable event. What could possibly be compelling enough about them to actually go down there? You can literally get anything from the closets. Treasure can't be that compelling.
