[Nageki should have made this announcement long ago. He'd been holding out hope that Claire's absence was temporary. That she'd return, even if it's later rather than sooner.]

[At this point, Nageki has to admit that she is gone from Wonderland for good and, despite the training Claire has given him, Nageki doesn't have enough medical knowledge to run the clinic on his own.]

The clinic doesn't have any medical professionals working in it anymore. I know basic first aid, so I can help with that, but not with anything more serious.

If there is a doctor or someone with healing abilities in the mansion, I would appreciate it if you could volunteer some of your time at the clinic.

[It's roughly an hour after Entrapta's announcement that Peridot comes online with her own. By now the rain has started to fall heavily now, and people have had their chance to be angry. Hopefully, Entrapta's fielding some of that. Peridot offered, but... Well, she's glad she doesn't have to yell at everyone.

She's vacated the lab and returned to the barn/room she shares with Lapis. The window and door seem to have been barricaded, though whether that's for the weather or the possibility of an angry mob, we just don't know. In her hand, Peridot has Entrapta's tape recorder, while her own communicator is propped up a few feet away.]

As Entrapta has already informed you, we did contact the Core, and there were some... complications, but that doesn't change our results! Witness this.

[She hits play with a savage "nyeh!" sound and a horrific distorted, almost Zalgo-like sound comes out of it. It's difficult to catch everything because there's a constant loud droning of voices that blend together into nonsense, but occasionally responses can be heard. Under the din, Peridot's own voice is more clear with her questions.

"What is Wonderland's intended purpose and what controls it?"

"S-so what about the Residents? Where do they go when they're not needed? Can you set them free? Have any them actually been unmade? If you need everyone to be together, then what about them? Where do they fit in?"

"What about the Mirrors? Is it because we don't belong here, so you're trying to make something of ours that does belong? Are they part of us or are they part of you?"

By the last question, the voices have become a din that crackles the recording into static. For the most part, there's not much that can be heard from the Core itself except for a litany of voices and occasional words thrown together. TOGETHER, BALANCE, WELCOME HOME, ALWAYS, and WE'VE MISSED YOU seem clearer than others. It's honestly terrifying.]

As I have a perfect memory, I remember the Core's exact responses, though... it was just as hard to understand in person. Most of the answers were nonsense, but it seems to be incredibly focused on all of us being together. There's a moment early on where it starts singing. Here.

[She rewinds the tape until she reaches the beginning where the Core answers her first question, and while the sound is distorted and awful like a music box played underwater, when Peridot joins in to sing along, it becomes much more clear.] Through the years we all will be together, if the fates allow...

See? There's a lot of things like that. [She shifts the recorder in her hands.] This is preliminary data, and we may not ever be able to speak to the Core again, but there's one thing I feel absolutely certain of.

[Her voice, as arrogant and proud as it had been, suddenly goes very grave]

I think Wonderland wants us to stay here.

[ooc: the relevant parts of the log the recorder is playing can be found here, though be warned, it is VERY difficult to make out a lot of it from a recording device that was affected heavily by the distortions.]

U-uh... Hello? Is this working?

[Peridot seems to be broadcasting from… a barn, which if anyone has actually seen her and Lapis’s room makes total sense. She has a whiteboard behind her that has a lot of squiggles and equations that make perfect sense to her.]

Claude, hold the camera steady. [Offscreen, there is a meow. Claude is doing no such thing. The only reason the camera isn’t moving is because the kitten has not decided it’s something to play with yet. Peridot is still satisfied that she’s being heeded and clears her throat.]

Greetings, fellow prisoners of Wonderland. Some of you may be aware that since my arrival I have been seeking to understand the machinations of this place we’re trapped in. Some of you mistakenly believe this is merely a planetoid or a world composed entirely by magic with no other explanation, and you just accept that, which is exactly what the clods in charge what you to think!

But with the latest upset as of two months ago, it’s clear that my theories were right all along. This place you call Wonderland is merely a simulation, and our current bodies are highly detailed computer simulated projections, while our physical bodies are in stasis. I’ve adjusted my theories to allow the inclusion of magic into the nature of this place, but the overall theory remains true. Accompanying this broadcast is an account of some of my findings. I hope you’ll enlighten yourselves, allow yourselves to expand your thinking, and also thank Entrapta for her own growing research into the Core. It’s about time this matter was handled by true geniuses.

[Yeah. Anyway. She pauses dramatically and waits for the camera to turn off, presumably on Claude’s own power, which is asking a lot of a lazy kitten. After a few seconds of her standing there and sweating, she sighs, marches over, and turns it off herself.]

Uh, okay. Hi anybody watching that. I'm Junko Enoshima, the Super High School Level Fashion Gal. But if what I read in the pamphlet's all true, then that probably doesn't mean a lot here. I mean it all sounds way too crazy to be true, but stuff's like that sometimes.

[Note: As always, my posts are threadjackable in all directions on my end, guys!]

All right, so I'm not sure how many of you have heard the rumblings of my research, but I think it's time I put the whole thing out for everyone to pitch in on. And if you're just going to prattle on about how it's impossible to find out real answers you can kindly sod off because I don't have time for that kind of negativity, thanks.

Memories. They're sort of important, don't you think? And this place keeps stealing them from us in some form or another, bit by bit. Until, what, there's nothing of who we were left? Is that the point? What's the endgame? We don't really know, do we?

What I want to do is first: figure out if there's some sort of pattern or rhyme or reason to the memories being stolen. Which I realize will be a bit tricky since we can't remember the things we've forgotten, but if we can find enough work-around explanations for the words and phrases we've lost, maybe we can come up with a list, and connect those to the events that happened during the loss of them, and look for a pattern.

[And while that idea of patterns has been there all along, he'll admit it's been a bit more reinforced since his chat with Dan about comparisons and parallels of this Wonderland to the original story.]

The other thing I'm looking into, is trying to see if we can retrieve the lost memories. Which is where I need volunteers and it'll be a bit of a mess because most of you are probably going to knee-jerk hate the idea. But how sure are you that you've truly forgotten it, and that whatever it is you've forgotten isn't simply locked away where you can't reach it? What if there was a way you might be able to unlock that box and retrieve it back?

[And here comes the really controversial part that he expects to get a lot of naysayers on a roll. But he's putting it all out there anyway, because Kol hopes their aversions to the idea are outweighed by the desire to keep what's rightfully their own.]

What I'm getting at is, I want to try to compel you to remember. It may not work, for all I know it may backfire in some spectacularly Wonderland sort of way for the attempt. I don't know, and if something similar has been attempted in the past, I'd love to hear about it. But it's just an idea. Honestly, this is a genuine attempt at fixing the things Wonderland screws up, so I've nothing to hide or any ulterior motives, so I'd be fine with being hawk-watched by anyone who feels the invasion aspect of it too sketchy?

There's another idea on deck as well, but I don't want to bother with it unless it seems fully necessary. I want to start simple, with this.

On a different note, but in a similar vein, I'd like to talk to the longest-standing residents in Wonderland. I've been told the names Regina Mills and Michonne as folks to seek out for such a thing. If you ladies are around for a chat, I'd love to ask you some things. And if anyone else has been here as long as, or longer than, either of them, I'd absolutely welcome more voices to this conversation.

[It's been something of A Day for Louis. A roller coaster of some really awesome and some really horrifically terrible shit. One minute, he was standing over that absolute jackass, Abel, and the next he's stumbling out of the first floor storage room out into the corridor with some comedic arm flailing. He catches himself, then stills, glancing around the space that is definitely not Ericson's courtyard.]

Toto, we're not in Kansas any more.

[He lets out a soft laugh that's toeing a little too close to hysterical. Carefully, he slides what looks like (and turns out IS) a chair leg with nails rammed into the top from an inside pocket of his held-together-by-love-and-duct-tape trenchcoat. For the observant, there's a blood stain on the upper arm, dry, a few weeks old, but definitely there, and definitely around a recently duct-taped hole. He raises his makeshift mace as he edges to a window, peering out at the perfect, beautiful Walker-free grounds.]

Oooookay, Lou. You're having a little bit of a psychotic breakdown. That's okay, that's fine. It's been a weird day. You knew it would have probably happened eventually. It's all good. Someone'll snap you out of this any second now.

[If you're heading towards him or passing him by, congrats, you've got his attention, he'll wave at you with his free hand.]

Hi there, mental breakdown conjuration. How's it hanging? Good? Good. I'm great. Not freaking out at all.

[LATER; Video]

[Once he's been filled in on what's actually happening (but still not utterly convinced this isn't some kind of stress-induced hallucination) Louis picks himself a room. He has his first hot shower in literal years, and even trusts the (magic????) closets to give him a new set of clothes. Aside from the trenchcoat. That remains as filthy and duct-taped as always. He's not parting with that for anything.

He sets himself up in the kitchen, where he sets up his communicator with a few false starts. It's been a long-ass time since he got to play with actual electronics. He's got a veritable feast on the table around him- ranging from god-awful junk food to fancy-ass steaks. They never truly starved in the school, but when all you have to eat for nigh on eight years are variations of rabbit, fish or berries, you can't help but indulge. He'll regret it later, when his system freaks out from suddenly having too-rich nutrients again, but that is a risk he's absolutely willing to take. He grins, giving the camera a thumbs-up. He doesn't get what's happening at all, but he can't just sit still, this...this keeps him active.
]

Hey there, fellow captives-slash-mental breakdown prisoners! The name's Louis and I'm brand new to this... whatever it is. AnyHOO, seen as it sounds like I'll be here for a while, I thought I'd get to know you a little better. [He raises a dirty, dog-eared pack of playing cards t the screen.] So! If any kids wanna come to the kitchen and share in my bountiful feast and have a good old game of War, you're totally welcome to. Highest card gets to ask a question to the other person, fun, right? [He burps loudly, then turns his phone around and opens the door. The library within looks...for the most part unchanged. It's still the old style and the old set-up of chairs and tables and stuff. You can practically smell that good book stink through the video. The most immediately noticeable difference is that it's now populated with a bunch of smallish robots. Most of them are glorified roombas, scooting along the carpet looking all adorable and all. The others are a bit larger and look like mobile trashcans with arms, and appear to be restocking shelves. They're surprisingly quiet for robots--no beeping or whirring.]

Okay, as you can see, d-didn't have to change much. Basically just kept everything as it was and added on to it. [Rick then turns down a hallway and walks a bit, robots scooting out of the way as he goes. He opens a door to what appears to be an insanely advanced computer lab, though there are still some microfilm and newspaper viewer things in one of the corners.]

Computer room, whatever. S-Server room is in the back. Don't bother the server robots. They bite. A-Anyway, if you can get any computer games from the closets or whatever, these machines w-w-will run anything. They already have Solitaire, Freecell and Minesweeper installed.

[Rick then turns and walks back toward the middle of the library, where there's a big ol' desk. It has a placard on it that says "Security Desk."]

So, what's running all the systems in the library is a hyper-advanced AI. Sh-She'll be in charge of security. She can deal with any p-piece of shit who tries to damage the library or damage other people in the library. Assuming she sticks around during events, sh-she can also lock the place down and turn it into a safe zone. But except during emergencies, the library is a no fire and no weapons zone. There are military-grade defenses embedded in the wall and c-ceiling and she won't hesitate to use them if she or the library feels threatened.

To demonstrate...

[Rick shifts the camera around to face him and the desk, then digs into a pocket for a book of matches. He strikes one with his free hand. An instant later, a somewhat ghostly blue hologram of a vaguely female human appears behind the desk. When she speaks, it's with a suspiciously familiar voice.]

"Sir, I must request that you immediately extinguish your open flame, or you will be forced to do so."

[Rick licks two fingers and pinches out the match. The hologram lady smiles.]

"Thank you for your prompt cooperation. Please enjoy the library. Friendly reminder: I am watching you."

[The hologram disappears and Rick clears his throat.]

Her name is E-L. Don't fuck with her. D-Don't try to hack her, either. She's authorized to brick whatever machine you use to try, and/or murder you.

Lastly, the new official librarian is around here s-somewhere. He's that pony guy, Sunset Whatever, S-Sun something. Sundial. I don't fucking know. Y-You can ask him for further details.

Some of you have already seen him - the black and white bear known as Monokuma.

I know he doesn't look dangerous, but I swear to you, that thing is a monster! It gets off on driving people to their worst limits! I've had to watch my classmates die over and over, all for his amusement! And... And I want to believe he has no power here, that Wonderland is stronger than he is... but I also know he won't be content to sit back and watch.

Please... stay away from him! Don't even talk to him! He knows how to use your weaknesses, how to get inside your head...

[She shuts her eyes hard, needing a moment to compose herself as tears flood her eyes.]

I know I could be risking things by saying this... but... but you all deserve to be safe, and happy, and to not fall into despair! And I'm scared... I'm so scared of what will happen with him, and this war... but I won't give up... I promise, I won't give up...

[She clenches her teeth, and her eyes flash open in a rare moment of anger.]

I won't give up on hope!

[By the time Sayori's discovered her phone, she's not much calmer than she was before... but it's not like anyone can hear or see her over text anyway. Time to put on her best cheerful smile!]

Hello!! Does this phone belong to anyone? I just found it, but I'd hate to use it if it's someone else's (つ﹏<。)

Ohh and my name is Sayori! I just kind of... woke up here? This place is too big to be my room!!

[ Henry’s been here about ten minutes and he really needs to get out, now. Because he’s either losing his mind, or he fell and hit his head, or he’s dead, or something. He would almost swear he’s been here before except he knows he hasn’t. He does know he was going to write about a version of Wonderland in his book but never got there, so is he somehow living that discarded draft? All he can think to do is actually confront the residents via video message. ]

Okay, so, hello. Just to get the basics out of the way, I’m Henry Mills and I guess I’m new here. Whatever else people want to know, sure, ask away, but I do have a question.

How the hell did I get here? I mean is there a running theory, is this a fever dream we’re all sharing, something in the water? I was having a beer and then I was in this place so any answers would be really appreciated at this point.

Also: did you believe in magic before coming here because this closet situation is seriously freaking me out.

[ What is happening and how is it possible? ]

Anyway, just thought I’d introduce myself. Sorry if I wasted anyone’s time.

[Ishimaru hasn't really been at a hundred percent since Mondo's arrival in Wonderland and the difficult news he brought with him. A lot has been weighing on his mind, but over time he's managed to gain some comfort and regain some of his energy by throwing himself into his studies and focusing on them. And during the last event, he mostly spent time coordinating people in the safe zone while in his pajamas. Now that things have quieted down again, it seems like the time to address everyone.

And so, on this day he addresses everyone with an energetic message! He goes on cheerily, although every now and then his cheer fades a bit.]

Greetings, people of Wonderland! In case you have not met me, my name is Kiyotaka Ishimaru! I believe in bold simplicity, and through hard work I have earned the title of Super High School Level Public Morals Committee Member! Even though I've been trapped here in Wonderland, I am still doing everything that I can to continue my educational crusade in this world, and I highly encourage anyone to join me! If you find me at the library or the youth center, you are more than welcome to study with me. Let's all do our best!

In fact, I would also like to encourage everyone to help me with my studies right now! Please help me in one of two ways. Either quiz me on any subject, or teach me about something from your world. You could even do both if you so please! I would highly appreciate any help. ...Y-you can also talk about the value of second chances here in Wonderland! [Just in case Mondo is listening. He then closes with a hurried bow.]

Thank you for your time, and may you all have splendid days!

In the wake of our most recent event and regarding the fate of those who lose their fifth life, I would like to propose a new series of data collection on mansion residents. It is my opinion that the instatement of a “death watch” - that is, an archival record of extant resident deaths that have occurred - should be created and maintained, and would serve as a valuable resource for the protection of those who are at risk.

[This is the difficult part: persuading people to share this sort of thing about themselves, knowing what it does to others and how it can hurt, is no easy task. She believed as much when she first spoke with Shepard on the subject, and believes the same now. Evelyn herself does not like to offer personal information unless asked, but knows the burden of carrying that suffering on one's own and how easily an environment can fall to fear.]

I understand that this is very private, very personal information. I understand it is traumatic, and not something that many people want to share. Therefore it is incumbent upon me to stress the critical severity of this situation, and assure you that you are not alone.

I myself have lost four lives here.

In disclosing as much, I hope that others can be swayed to believe in the efficacy of this database, and would urge residents to volunteer their respective death tolls to build the record. Residents who submit information to the watch on their numbers may do so to me privately, if there is concern about embarrassment or persecution from peers.

[It is a valid concern, and one which she has agonised over.]

Commander Shepard’s confirmation from the Queen of Hearts that those who are remade after their last demise are conscripted as spies is extremely troubling. Regardless of the veracity of the information given its source, we as unwilling residents do not have the luxury of allowing for that liability. For those concerned about their safety, I will be actively working with the commander, who is well-equipped to establish and manage security procedures once the record has been transcribed and analysed. This is a living document, and is expected to require additions over time.

I am aware that this is a drastic measure, but a measure worth taking. Please feel free to direct all responses and queries to myself and Commander Shepard.

[OOC NOTE: I realize this is a hot button issue as has generated a lot of replies, which is great! In order to keep myself sane, I'm going to have to cut it off here and request that no one else respond in this post. Messaging Evelyn's inbox is cool if you want to drop a line there instead, but replies will be slower there.

Anyone who did not get to respond in here before the cut-off, I'd really like you to at least drop a comment HERE if you believe your character would still share their information with her. Thank you for understanding!

[If there's one thing Jay doesn't like, it's being out of the loop. He spent a little over four years trying to piece together what happened back home himself, while the people who knew more than he did dangled clues over his head to watch him jump.]

[This past event, he was in over his head, and he knew it. Tim ended up with a second soul (SOUL?) and a new set of monstrous features to boot, and Jay had no idea how to help. Clearly there are things going on here in Wonderland that Jay hasn't even started looking into, and now he's been burned for it.]

[He takes to the network several days after Asgore and Tim recover.]

How do souls work in your world?

Back where I come from, people talk about them. When you die, they say your soul goes to Heaven or Hell (or Purgatory or whatever afterlife you believe in, I guess). But it's not like anyone's actually seen one.

I get the impression that's not how it works everywhere.

They've got a whole nine wrapped together, no wonder you can't remember your place neither. Set a foot in one, end up in another, snap of ye finger, goes just like that. [Everyone's memories were so intriguing. It was kind of nice to get a glimpse into each world, though at some expense great or small, whatever that expense was. Minato thought he wouldn't have the opportunity to visit all of the worlds out there, so he did have to thank Wonderland for giving him that chance. Maybe one positive out of being here was that for all the events, if some individuals didn't remember something from it, then there had to be someone else who would.

It did give him an idea too, a small one that he could work with. He just wanted to give it a try, to see if he could also get reacquainted with his own Personas that he didn't have with him now. The most important reason though was to see if he could try to know more people too, as if too to make up for the Social Links, relationships with people that he should have here. It'd be a good test for him.

His current backdrop were the stacks in the Library as he sat at a table with books all around, those that were open displaying pictures of mythological deities and supernatural creatures, maybe a few historical figures as well.]

It seems like we talk a lot about what we had at home that we don't have here. But what's something you have here that you don't have at home?

And I mean something good, not something like "here we have terrible events that try to kill us and we don't have that at home."

For me, the thing we have here that I don't have at home is night.

[So there’s something a little bit different about Jesse that’s almost immediately noticeable the moment the feed starts, due to the way her hair is tucked behind her ears. And that’s the fact that her ears are kind of POINTY, now; she looks like an elf right out of Lord of the Rings.

She also looks CONCERNED.

There’s something a little off about the shadows behind her, too. But the reason for that will be apparent in just a second. She gives the feed a nervous little smile.]

So you’d think I’d be used to the things Wonderland does by now. But it turns out I can still be surprised.

[The next sentence comes out in a rush.]

So I kind of have WINGS.

[She shifts the camera so they’re visible, and it’s her wings that are responsible for the weird shadows behind her. And they’re gorgeous, don’t get her wrong; starting out cream at her back they’re a warm rusty sort of dark orange by their wingtips. But they’re WINGS. She’s pretty sure she’s not supposed to have wings, even if she had ended up a metahuman. She’s never heard of a metahuman having wings, anyway.

Not on her Earth, at least.

They’re a little rumpled, too, because, well, NEW FEATHERY APPENDAGES.]

Anyone have any pointers on how to use them? Because I’ve kind of never had an extra set of appendages before and it’s taking some getting used to.

[A LOT of getting used to. They move on their own, half the time, instincts new and REALLY unfamiliar and she’s tripped over them and gotten tangled more times than she can count. And that’s not including the falling on her face. Or butt.]

And if I’m going to be any use AT ALL I need to learn how to use them. Fast.

[Because they ARE useable. She knows she can fly, instincts she didn't have a day ago are telling her she can. She just... doesn't know how. Doesn't have the muscle memory. Yet.]
