[After months of attempted planning (most of which was frequently cast to the wayside in favour of dealing with whatever fresh Hell decided to make itself known to them all) Evelyn has come to the conclusion that there will never be a "Good Time," and has therefore decided that with that being the case, it is simply easier to set what she likes, when she likes.

This is all a very runabout way of saying that Evelyn has politely asked the Mansion - which, as we all now know, is practically sentient - to deliver the following invitation to everyone's door:
]

[Intangible* attachments have also been forwarded to each resident, supplemented by the following transmission:]

I'm holding a fête this Friday evening - there isn't a particular time for required attendance, it should be ongoing for several hours after dinner - and I should like as many parties as available to come. It is themed, as there are a number of us here from time periods before 1950, so appropriate attire is encouraged, but not mandated.

[This is in part due to a withering homesickness that Wonderland itself has been unable to satisfy.]

Kindly respond if you do plan to join, and I hope to see you all on Friday.

Wonderland.

[ A nod in greeting, no more or less warm than usual (as usual happens to be uncommon in this case). His last public address had been in a prior year — an enthusiastic explanation of baseball — and in the time since, nothing has changed, not actually changed. ]

Name's John. Ah, Blake to most of you, but Robin John Blake if we're bein' proper. I've been here for— [ A puff of air, a shake of his head. He's still twenty-nine, hasn't aged a day since his arrival, but there's no staving off the way turmoil has done what time cannot. ] Well, I can't accurately say, but it's been years. Lifetimes in some cases — always enjoyed those kinda events — but on actual days I can count as bein' here, it's over three years.

I don't— [ A pause. He was once personable — trained to be — but so much of that has worn down to this personality of half-measure, a ghost of what once was. ] Tryin' to explain, so bear with me, but I don't think... I don't think I'm goin' home. [ He breathes in, lets it out slowly. ] And that's what I want, so I'm okay with it.

Some part of me is always gonna be here. Mean that in the most technical sense, 'cause this place has taken from me — memories and who knows what else. Figure even if I go home-go home it's gonna be true, that I'm still gonna be here.

So... that's my big announcement. I'm here to stay. By any means necessary, I think. [ His smile is rueful. ] Groundbreakin', I know; a blip of Wonderland's vast radar screen. But it also gives me an opportunity to say I'm retirin' too. From my life of crime fightin'. Won't make much of a diff'rence here 'cause that's not really what I do, but it'll make a diff'rence in me, I think.

[ Blake shrugs, rubs at the small amount of stubble that's shadowing his chin. ]

Anyway, if anyone wants to celebrate or whatever, I'll be 'round the bar in a bit.

Alright, how many of us got roped into taking care of a cat?

[Us, because there's a sweet little kitten climbing up her arm. Black fur, bright eyes, and an obvious talent for clinging to her new owner. The cat seemed familiar in a way Emma couldn't walk away from. Maybe it was because she needed a home, maybe it was because she's clearly a troublemaker covered in fluff.

Only time will tell whether or not it was a good idea. She's still wondering how Henry's dog will respond to her, and whether or not this is going to be the disaster Emma thinks it could be.

The sad eyes got to her; the truth is, they work every time.]

What does it mean, that memories which aren't our memories are falling from the sky? [ Well, 'fell,' past tense. She hums low, thoughtfully, pauses in the middle of her note-taking. ] We're given glimpses of the supposed past of Wonderland on a silver platter, and not only are they full of moments from a past that none of us remember, but some of them belong to Alice...

[ Again, she pauses in her writing, considers the camera. ]

I don't know the Fable, Alice. From my world. I wonder how different they are... [ Snow lightly clears her throat, then begins folding up and setting aside the notes. ] I'd like to know what you all think about the 'memories' you saw. How likely is it that we were all here and don't remember it? Considering that people come and go with and without their memories on a regular basis... hmm.

[He's waited probably longer than he should have, but that's how it goes when you're the exception to the rule. Most people, when they go and come back, are gone for a week at most. Then they show back up, memories in tact, bringing with them some new information or development from back home. Any longer than that and they don't remember Wonderland, instead showing up just the same as a person there for the first time: lost, confused, pissed off at the circumstances.

[Henry’s had a good start to the year so far. He has no idea how long it will last, but all of his parents are in Wonderland, no one is the Dark One, and he’s...happy. So, he can focus on other things, like trying to understand just how far reaching this place is, and how many realms over-lap each other. He knows there are worlds with zombies, where New York is completely over-run and America is gone, but he also lived in New York for a while, and...no zombies. So, how many versions are there?]

Hi, so. I was kind of curious about what people have experienced in their worlds versus my version of the world. So, I’m gonna toss out some things and if you could say where you’re from, and which ones you’ve heard of (not because of people talking about it here in Wonderland), that’d be cool. Oh, and maybe your best guess on what year it is at home, too.

No one has to do anything, I just thought it’d be fun. So, here are some popular things/events in history or whatever:

  • The Ogre Wars
  • The Beatles
  • Central Park
  • iPhones/Apple
  • The Dark Curse [sorry, mom, it was an event.]
  • Disco
  • The Berlin Wall
  • Titanic
  • San Francisco Earthquake (1989)
  • The Dark One
  • Internet
  • Moon landings (or space exploration in general)

But at least they left and came back together), Henry trudges back to the mansion. He's not sure if he's missed anything or if anyone else has maybe arrived or left, but he's about to find out.

Once he's in his room and he's made sure his pen (wow, he broke the one at home and...that was...stupid), the blank book, and the ink are still secure, he settles in, still wearing his Camelot clothes. [There's a lot on Neal's mind when he finally comes to a day after Wonderland's drawn him back. A year's gone by in his own world, and of course he's gone all that time without a clue about the realm he's in now. That's a lot of memories to sort through, made all the harder because he's spent too long being the voice in the Dark One's head.

Yeah, things got messed up back home. News at eleven.

Doesn't matter though. As soon as the first few thoughts click into their proper place, Neal's scrambling for the phone he knows should be nearby. Every move he's made has been done for family, good choices and terrible, so when he remembers that Henry's here Neal immediately tries to reach out to him. He presses the buttons, too disoriented still to make the call private, and in too much of a rush to care. So long as he can find Henry, that's good enough.]

Henry? Henry, it's your dad. I'm back, I--

[He closes his eyes, shakes his head to try and push away the lingering confusion from his thoughts. Henry's here along with others, like Regina and Robin. Zelena, but screw her. James, Michonne, Snow, Elphaba.]

I remember. This place, Wonderland. I remember all of it.

[He huffs out a breath, a small smile crossing his features that doesn't quite manage to be happy. Yeah, he remembers. Good choices and terrible ones, and a bunch of crap he has to apologize for from the last big curse Wonderland decided to pull from his world.]

I know that not everyone is themselves since the invasion, but I think this... will help, not only with these kinds of, ah... events, but with a few other things that we've come to expert from Wonderland.

[ Ahem. Snow glances over a few papers in front of her (seemingly; the viewer just catches her eyes sweeping down over something) and then looks up after she's gathered her thoughts. ]

I've had a few conversations with Evelyn O'Connell and we've decided that there should be a kind of system for our residents who disappear and come back without any memories of their time here, or so that there's a way to remember those who disappear completely. It can act as a reminder, a last will and testament, and... a memorial. If there's a need.

So, To that effect, we've set up a sort of repository for all that in the library, at least for now. If you need an idea to help get started, you might write a letter to yourself to help ease the transition, should you forget. We won't be reading any of the written submissions, so it can be personal or sensitive information, if that could help you.

[ She glances over the list again, dark brows pinching together for a second. ]

I think that's all. I'll be online if there's anything else, and... if you have questions for Evelyn, you can direct them to her inbox. She's a little under the weather, so come to me first, if you can.

[ the last time dean had addressed wonderland, he’d been all leery smiles and compliments— with a set of nice inky eyes, too, that is. today finds him in entirely different mood, face set to a carefully guarded neutral expression, as he sits by a table somewhere within his own room. fingers drum a steady beat against the wooden surface, the only cue that not all may be as well as he’d like for it to appear. ]

Now that we’re all done hating each other, I got a small refresher as far as our feathery ranks in Wonderland go. Looks like Cas — uh, Castiel — has fluttered off back home, leaving this place without any flying nerds to bark about Heaven. [ which should be great, sure. but it was cas, and anyone who knows anything about dean also knows how much said nerdy little dude meant to him.

[The broadcast is honestly overdue, but Neal’s got plenty of good reasons why it’s taken him this long to get it out there. Wonderland does as it always does, and the event revolving around HYDRA had been a hell of a thing to go through for everyone—and for Neal, who saw his son brainwashed not to know him. Then even before that, he and Robin had to hunt down the kid after he went into hiding again, for damn good reason again, and for the record? Neal’s really sick of his kid’s life going to hell, thanks.

But there’s another reason, one he doesn’t even want to admit to himself, much less anyone else. It’s been long enough now though that he can be sure: Rumplestiltskin really isn’t coming back, and putting off telling everyone else isn’t going to make that any less true. So he finally turns on the feed, though even as he forces out the words Neal doesn’t quite look square at the camera.]

Not sure how many people knew him as Mr. Gold or as Rumplestiltskin, but either way he’s not in Wonderland anymore.

[How many people would care who didn’t already know? Neal’s not sure, and that’s kind of messed up too. Doesn’t matter that he’d seen his father go back to his old ways; Neal still can’t help feeling like a failure of a son just by not knowing who his Papa’s friends had been.

Or if he had any at all.]

    Sorry.

[That’s it for the public broadcast, but Neal’s got other messages to send out. There’s no good way to go about it, but so long as she doesn’t go crazy, Neal figures there’s no point in telling the mansion as a whole about what happened to Regina. Some people should know though, ones she’s close to, and between Robin and Henry they’d figured out a short list of names.]

Locked to the Once-Ler, Michonne, and Angel )

[That done, Neal heads to the place where he’s spent a lot of his time lately: The Jolly Roger. Another memento left behind, except this one requires a bit more maintenance—especially when kids decide to commandeer it for birthday parties. Somewhere along the way he thinks it might be a good idea just to let people know it’s not entirely open to the public, so later on in the evening he gets out the phone again.]

So pretty much everyone knows there’s a pirate ship docked here in Wonderland now. Even though the person who owns her isn’t here anymore, I’m taking care of her. And I don’t mind if people want to use her sometimes, but just check with me first. She’s pretty important to me and my family.

[Hello Wonderland. You may have noticed a black cat wandering the grounds and within the mansion. Maybe staring at you, but running off if you turned your attention toward it. Whether or not you saw this cat, it is now human, and it is not pleased with what it's found.

The feed comes on to a young dark haired woman with piercing eyes. It switches off, switches to text, switches back to video and she stands back, apparently unsatisfied with what she has discovered of the device.
    ]

I was under the impression this infernal contraption has the ability to send messages, but I do not see how. What magic it employs is beyond me, like much of the magic of this place. [Which is frustrating, to not know something she's meant to, something she's supposedly an expert in.

She takes a closer, disapproving look at the device. It's certainly no Eluvian.
] 'Tis meant to speak to me now, yes? Rather, the voices of those it reaches. Or am I speaking plainly to a little box and looking the fool for it? ... [She'd growl if she were the sort to growl. But she's clearly exasperated. When she speaks again, her tone makes it clear she is on her last bit of patience.]

Tell me now, residents of this place, of where I am and, also, what sort of place leaves rooms strewn about its grounds, books among the leaves as they are. I am no architect, but it seems a poor choice of design.

    ...Well? Speak now!

[Neal's not really one for broadcasting on the network much; too many years spent trying to go unnoticed probably, out of the public eye and away from whoever he'd been running from at the time. So while he's been in Wonderland for ten months, when the feed starts? It's only the second time he's purposely put up since he got to Wonderland.]

Uh, hey. [This is going to be awkward, isn't it? Maybe he should've stuck to text, but too late now.] So this may seem like something crazy to ask, especially since Wonderland is doing--whatever it does, again. [Rooms shuffling around, hills turned into valleys, who knows what else.] But I thought maybe we should talk about ways this place doesn't suck.

[No, he's not joking. Neal's got a reason behind this, even if he's not sharing it exactly.]

See, it's easy to complain about what's going on, and no one's going to blame anyone for it. But we're all stuck here regardless, so I just--I don't know. Thought that sharing the good things might make it a little easier. Y'know. While we're trying to figure out where all the rooms went.

[And what it might mean that for the second time, some event seems to be starting without any sort of announcement, and now outside of when everyone would expect it. Neal's figures someone else is going to have that covered anyway, like Emma or James, or one of those superheroes running around.

Hence the attempt at morale boosting, or whatever people want to call it. Honestly, Neal knows there are other people around in the same situation he is--not just stuck, but resigned to the fact that Wonderland is it. So why not reach out, try to find them, and commiserate?

He thinks over what he's said, then nods as if telling himself that yeah, the message is good, it gets the point across. Then he turns off the video in favor of sending out a pretty important private message. It's one he should have sent out sooner--much sooner--but for all the logic and good intentions, Neal's still carrying a lot of guilt over what Zelena made him do.]

[So it's been a few days since the time travel thing didn't exactly pan out, and Zelena figures it's time to address that. Since she's still here and presumably is going to be here for a while, it sort of has to be done.

But for what it's worth, she doesn't look as upset about that as she probably should be.]

For the record, I never thought I'd have to have this conversation, but here we are. Or I suppose, here I am.

[Okay, now she looks slightly unhappy about the whole haha, you're stuck in Wonderland thing.]

So I can't open a portal out of here, it doesn't matter. Doesn't change anything as far as I'm concerned. I'm still going to get what I want, now I just know to try something else.

[Wow, she's basically arrived at the same point everyone else in Wonderland was at months ago. Which is the part where they all told her that this was stupid and impossible.]

And if you're expecting an apology because I've wronged you or something, look elsewhere. Like I already told my sister, I don't regret a single thing I've done and would do it again if I thought it would work this time.

[...so basically she's just taken up everyone's valuable time to reiterate that she's still here and still wicked, or evil, or whatever word anyone wants to describe the completely unrepentant terrible person she is.]

[Hey, look. Gold's back, but given how he keeps himself to himself due to Zelena's stranglehold on him, it's not unrealistic to assume no one knew he was gone. And, in fact, he is not acknowledging that he was gone in any grand way.]

A word of advice from someone who has spent quite a long time knowing the future. If you know something is going to happen to loved one- or, in some cases, perhaps even an enemy- do yourself and them a favor and don't tell them. It won't prepare them for what's to come, and it certainly won't make them feel any better once they've lived it.

But then, I imagine it's not quite about making anyone feel better, is it? It's the guilt that comes from harboring a great secret, the kind that eats you up inside, until you have to confess it. [A dark chuckle that's borderline ironic.] I can't imagine what that must feel like.

    [there's a lengthy pause.]

At any rate, I trust I didn't miss much of anything at all while I was gone.
