[ One minute, Juliet is raiding the supply closet for party accouterments and the next she's standing in the middle of an entrance hall in a mansion holding a fancy smartphone.

She doesn't address the mansion right away; instead, she finds a small alcove and curls up in a chair to read through archived posts for a couple of hours. She tries to keep a low profile as she gets her bearings, avoiding making eye contact with anyone passing by as she adjusts herself to using the device and then figures out how to access the network. Eventually, she gets the gist of it - weird Alice in Wonderland world, events, people coming back from the dead. It can't possibly be real and yet, here it is.

Once she's oriented herself as well as she can, she opens up a video feed to the network at large. ]

So, I guess I'm one of the new people that seem to turn up here every week or so. At this point, I'm pretty torn on whether or not this is even real or if I'm having some kind of really elaborate hallucination triggered by a contaminated water supply or someone using way too much ant killer in the break room.

[ For the record, the ant thing was totally not her fault. ]

My name is Juliet O'Hara. I came here from Santa Barbara in California. I got the impression everyone here has about as much idea as I do about what the hell is going on, but if you have any information that hasn't ended up on this blog... thing, I'd really like to hear it about now. [ She's trying to come off as commanding and confident, but it isn't really working out for her. ] Or if you just wanna say hi. That works, too.

[ Oh, and one more thing. ]

Shawn, I know you're here so don't mess around. I'm at the main entrance. Pretty sure you can find it. [ Now, that comes off a little more forceful. ]

[ Feel free to respond to her post or bump into her in the entrance hall! ]

[ When Claire had first begun to instruct him on using this device, he wanted nothing to do with it, finding no purpose in it. But then she’d patiently showed him how useful it could be as a means to communicate. Recognizing there would be times when they’re separated and something could happen, it does gradually sink in to Jamie that there is a point to this strange magical object.

The first few days with Claire, he can’t be bothered to think of anyone or anything but her. But as he heals and starts to feel better, he’s restless, and it occurs to him that he could perhaps get to know others here a bit better. And soon, hopefully, he’ll be released from bed rest. ]

I dinda think I’d put my hands on this...thing at all. It seemed a strange and useless tool, but my wife’s advised me of the error in my thinking. [ Are people truly listening to this? How odd. ]

When you find yourself still confined to bed rest long after it’s necessary - [ He says this pointedly and loudly, so Claire can hear him in the next room ] you start to become desperate. I’m told many of you here are fond of my wife, Claire Fraser. Perhaps - if ye’ve some sway over her - ye might speak to her on my behalf? Tell her that her husband is quite well and good now and willna do anything more than thank the Almighty for the blessing of fresh air again.

Hello, everyone! I wanted to let you all know I've been baking again, and there are all sorts of fall inspired desserts to be had in the kitchen. I've made ginger cookies, pumpkin pies, apple crisps, a cinnamon apple cheesecake, sweet potato cupcakes with marshmallow frosting and a few other goodies. It's all available to anyone.

[ She pans to show the full counter space even while speaking. ]

Oh! And if any of you have a favorite dessert or baked good you'd like, let me know? I'm more than happy to try my hand at it. I'll be down in the kitchen cleaning up for a while, so drop by if you'd like. I would love your company.

[ The last thing she remembers is being with Will, exploring the shit cave. No, really, actual shit. So, being here at all makes no sense, she has no memory of how she got here, why she's here, who or what brought her here. All of these people are total strangers. It makes literally no sense that she's here at all. This has to be some kind of crazy hallucination, right? She spends a few hours laying low, scoping the place out, exploring and trying to figure out what she can on her own. So many are just...going about their lives like nothing is wrong at all. There's a kitchen, a diner, an actual pool?? Objectively, it's a normal-ish place, which means, this is all very, very wrong. At least if her family was here, they could...figure this out together.

For a moment, there's a pang because her family doesn't include her dad now. Or does it? Will had been so hopeful, but both she and Judy were more pragmatic. Was there a chance?

Right now, though, she has to deal with where she currently is, which is stuck in some weird place. ]

So, hey, I was wondering how long it usually takes for someone's family to show up here with them?

[ Totally chill. Calm. She's really worried about her family, but admitting that out loud on the device would mean it's potentially being recorded and she can't betray her cool exterior completely. ]

There's five of us altogether. [ Dammit. Again. ] Four of us. Sort of. We were on a ship and we- [ She stops herself abruptly. ] You know what, not important right now, right? I'm trapped here and here is apparently some weird pocket dimension between time and space, am I on the right track?

Random shout-out to whoever kidnapped us, though: I'm digging the closets. Unlimited Oreos? Totally cool. Also laced with something to brainwash me probably but at least I'm going down happy.

Red Queen said somethin' t' me a while ago.

[He starts the video like it's an afterthought, like stepping into the middle of a conversation that started a few minutes ago. It was a while, a few months in fact, but time does pass so strangely here and he's had other things on his mind.

Dan's sitting on a bench in the gym, after running himself to near-exhaustion not for the first time. It's a habit now, not necessarily a good one, almost like a kind of self-flagellation for one reason or another. He rubs the back of his wrist across his forehead and clears his throat.
]

B'fore that chess game. [He thinks. Almost sure of that.] Tried t' get some info outta her 'bout how this place works. Didn't get much, but she did tell me, we only see 'two sides to this place'.

[His accent slips as he enunciates carefully, glancing away from the camera for a moment.]

May be more sides we don't see, an' there might be answers there. Been tryin' t' figure it out, but I ain't got a head on me for riddles an' she tells worse ones than the psyker kid at 188 Tradin' Post back home. …Is this really supposed to be calming?

[Jean’s device is propped up against his thigh as he sits at the edge of the docks. A red and white bobber would can be seen floating on top of the gentle waves, rocking in and out of view. His loud sigh is clearly audible over the gentle roar of the surf.]

This is boring, not calming. And the two aren’t the same. Boring means I have time to think about things I shouldn’t. That’s the opposite of calming.

[He compulsively reels in, and casts his line again. It doesn’t go as far as it could. He’s still getting used to this whole pole thing.]

Why do people even do this? If you’re trying to feed yourself, traps are way more efficient.

[A seagull cries in the distance.]

What a waste of time. I mean, I’m trying to waste time, but still. This is dumb. You guys agree, right?

[Jean, you’re going crazy. This obviously isn’t your hobby. Just give it up already and stop spamming the network with your inane rambling.]

( When you're used to being by yourself in the world you're from, it's about a hundred times harder to try to address a whole network of people on the other side, but. She needs to. The camera turns on, and it shows Clementine in the dining room. There are two cork boards behind her. )

So. Hey.

I know everyone's on edge with the recent murder, but. Yeah. ( It doesn't have the same effect on her as it does most, but that's kinda cause she's fucked up and it's hard to shake her up at all. But she can feel everyone on edge, and no one seems to be close to figuring out what the hell happened, not that she's deep involved in investigating. She wanted to put up these boards cause there's a lot of stuff she wants to learn, and if she doesn't do it now, she won't ever do it. So here she goes. ) We're all stuck here, but maybe there's something you want to learn or you can teach others.

Like how to play the piano or violin, how to read or write or type, how to do first aid, how to paint or draw, or how to do cool science shit. Gardening, carpentry, sewing, cooking...

Something like that.

I put up these boards in the dining room so you can do that. This board's for offering up lessons. This board's for finding someone who can teach you what you want. Just... since there's a murderer around and it's either a mirror or one of us... or a resident, I guess, maybe make sure to schedule your lessons in a public place and tell someone where you're going.

And keep a weapon on you, and if you don't know how to use one of those, maybe seek some lessons in that. ( deep sigh before she mutters mostly to herself: ) I did a great fucking job selling this.

What’s up Wondernet?

I’m Peter -- Parker. I guess that's a name some of you might know already. If that's you then, uh, hi, those people.

[Peter gives a tense little wave as though he's waiting for something terrible to happen. He's been a little slow to make himself known on the network - because he's pretty sure he was technically grounded for the last little while? He probably still is.

But also, there used to be another Peter Parker in Wonderland - an older Peter with better shoulders. He has the impression most people probably knew that guy. So that’s awkward, right? Worse still, the other Peter wore his super-identity super-openly, so now there’s a very real chance that someone's about to out Peter as Spider-Man to absolutely everyone. It's not something he was rushing to invite on himself.]

I have a question for you. I mean, for all of you.

[Now Peter re-positions a little, setting himself up to face the camera more centrally. It seems like he’s satisfied with the framing for a few seconds there but nope, guess not, because he picks the camera up and sets it on something above his head height. That’s better. No disasters so far. He's looking more relaxed.]

Okay yeah. So what’s one, small, inconvenient thing you have to do every day that just... bugs you?

[He reaches forward and adjusts the camera again. Was it tilted sideways a bit before? Because now it is.]

Obviously there's a whole lot of really terrible things about being here - you can probably think of a couple of those - but I’m not talking about being spied on through your mirror or waking up in an alien prison or anything like that. Just the little annoying things. I guess they don’t even really have to be specific to Wonderland. Something like, going to bed but forgetting to turn the light off, because then you have to get up again but you were just getting comfortable…

Stuff like that.

[God he used to hate when that happened. Used to, that is, because now he has spider-webs. Versatile, versatile spider-webs.]

Oh! And what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever taken out of a closet?

[He wonders for a moment whether he should specify magical-wonderland-closet, but actually, it’s probably more interesting if he leaves it up to interpretation.]

So I guess that's two questions.

Good afternoon. I was wondering if there might be anyone here with the authority to marry two people? And then the feeling fades, she feels empty and alone, and her eyes open slowly.

This is not the Enchanted Forest and she is, in fact, alone. Outside of a mansion, Snow isn't sure what to make of where she wound up, but she marches determinedly toward the building. If her family is there, she'll find them. In the meantime, feel free to intercept one very determined woman. ]

video;

[ Snow begins a video message on her device to reveal she's in a tea room, and she smiles pleasantly, if not a bit tightly. But there will be no threatening the general population, isn't that a nice change of pace? ]

So, this is Wonderland. It's a bit less...red hearts and edible drugs than I thought it would be? Not that I'm looking for that, just, well. I'm sure enough of you have read the story to know what I mean.

[ Snow's never taken an illegal substance in her life, thank you very much. ]

The thing is, this isn't where I thought I was going. Magic was taking me somewhere but not here. But I thought, maybe, other people from home wound up redirected as well and this seemed like the fastest way to check. If anyone knows David Nolan or Regina Mills, I would very much appreciate being pointed in their direction.

[ She assumes only people who were swept up in the curse would have been flung somewhere unexpected. But then she figures it can't hurt anything more to ask about her daughter and grandson. ]

Emma? Henry? Are you here? Is anyone from home here?

[ Please let someone be here. Worry pits in her stomach, because if this isn't a place with portals, she has no idea how she'll ever get home, wherever that may be right now. ]

If someone could let me know whether you've seen them or even heard of them, I would be so grateful. My name is Snow, by the way, but I think you can see that on your device? I'm still learning.

[ She ends the video broadcast then, but stares intently at the device, waiting on any word. ]
