[Kaneki got one look at the "happy" memory playing out in his room and he wants nothing to do with it, to be quite honest. Sure, the content of the memory was happy at the time--mostly--but right now, it's just making him homesick.

He's fled to Darcy's coffee shop on the first floor, near the training/danger room. He helps out there pretty regularly, so it seemed like the next-best place to be. He's behind the coffee bar in his apron, leaning forward on it, his crossed arms resting on the surface, as he addresses the network.]

Some event, right. [Yes. Some event.] I'm not really sure if anyone had the same reaction to it as me, but if you did, you might want a break from it.

[He offers a smile that's a bit less nervous than usual. The network, he's found, creates a nice buffer between him and other people that he appreciates.]

I make pretty good coffee, and I know how to make other drinks, too. I'll be in trouble at home if I get rusty at it while I'm here. [He laughs a little, but really, he can just imagine at least one of his co-workers at home being pretty nasty about it, if that were a thing that could actually happen.] So if anyone wants a break from whatever's going on, you can come by the coffee shop. I'll be here.

[For the next few days, possibly. Blah.]

[As per usual William is sat in his room, mulling something over as he turns the video feed on. The room is neat, almost too neat, decorated sparsely with the color blue. Despite the drama of the last few days, William isn't giving much thought to things back home, or for the part where certain people have found things out about him that shouldn't have gotten out. Such was life in Wonderland.]

So there's some kind of warning there, though I can't say it makes much sense to me. But I will share what they told me, it might make sense to someone. From what I heard it's twelve or more things, probably in the forest. With teeth, some premolars and lacking wisdoms so probably young? Ah, I'm not very good at this sort of thing. What it did sound like was they would be in the sky and if we didn't have means to get up there now, we would when whatever this is happens.

Personally I'm hoping for toothed birds. I've seen enough things with teeth back home to last a long time. Please be toothed birds, I can settle with that. Maybe not so much the sky part, what goes up always has to come down and I don't think I can trust myself to manage that bit okay. [Yes, it was a joke. Shush now.]

It never ends in this place. [William just shakes his head and turns the feed off.]

[You may have noticed something new in Wonderland. No, not the festive atmosphere as the holidays approach. More like the near-constant ribbiting everywhere. What's with that ribbiting? Don't frogs hibernate in the winter? Oh wait. Would you look at that? There's frogs. Everywhere. All different kinds of frogs. Real frogs. Toy frogs. Bullfrogs. Poison dart frogs. Tree frogs. Those teeny tiny tree frogs that live in really remote places of the world. Those horrible plastic frog toys with the tab on their butt so when you press down on the tab they jump into the air. A few toads. Peeper frogs chirping and making so much noise oh my god. Really big frogs with really weird eyes that probably aren't from normal Earth. Frogs wearing little clothes. Green frogs blue frogs yellow frogs pink frogs tree frogs brook frogs pond frogs river frogs frogs with wings frogs with hats frogs with tiny shoes.]

[There are so many frogs you guys and they are freaking everywhere.]

[The reason for all this madness comes on the network well after the place has been inundated.]

Hey, did you guys know that the closets are magic? They'll give you whatever you want! Well, they'll give you most of what you want. I asked the closet to give me wings but it only gave me chicken wings. Not cool, closet! Anyway, I haven't been able to find my frog, so I thought I'd ask the closet if it knew where Arnold is. But it couldn't get it right! And a lot of frogs started showing up! Like. A lot of frogs. Boy, I thought I'd never see Arnold among all those frogs.

[HUGE GRIN.]

BUT LOOK!!

[He holds up a frog that looks and sounds exactly like his own frog back home. Of course it's not the same frog, but Greg either can't tell or is content to accept a temporary replacement.]

It's Arnold! I found him! The closet really knows how to make a kid happy, am I right? Say hello to all the people, Arnold!

[The frog says "rorop."]

[When the video comes on William is in the gardens, lion cub on a harness leash prowling around his feet as the young man talks to his device.

Just another day in Wonderland, but hey at least William looks awkward today, frowning slightly as if he's trying not to cringe too much. It's something he's curious about though, and for once William is going to take the initiative and just ask.]

When we were in that other town for a bit, it made me a Pastor. And that's not actually far off from what I do back home, so it got me thinking on it. And I have to apologize in advance if this isn't everyone's thing, though feel free to say so, I'm pretty open to most things and we never forced people to join the church back home.... Right, anyway, are there many people here of a uh, religious persuasion? I was head of the church back home, and it's not something I've given much thought on since the last event that happened. More like I never thought to ask, I just assumed it wasn't a thing here.

Is there even any kind of church or chapel here?

[With that William just gives a half-smile and ends the feed. Feel free to bump into him in person if you wish.]

[Briefly a bearded face could be seen on the monitor before the image became blurred, then black before it was facing the ground. Then it flipped back over to show the face of a man whose eyebrow was quirked in thought.]

Gotta say that this is a mighty curious device.

[A pause as he looks it over once more. The thing would certainly put that Edison fellow back in the States to shame. That being said, or rather thought, Ethan figured that he may as well use the device for what it was meant to be used for.]

But I suppose that I should be gettin' right to the point. Anyone friendly out there who can at least hear this? [May as well try and start meeting with the residents.]

[It takes him a full day to make this post.]

So. The angel, Aziraphale, is gone. In a more permanent capacity this time. His room has returned to the default.

[He knows. He spent a few hours in there just sitting on the floor and drinking heavily.]

I suppose that drops us down to only one librarian. Though I'm sure Evelyn is up to the task.

[Pause.]

That's all.

[ When he arrives, Dorian isn’t entirely disoriented. In fact, he is so intrigued by the wonderment of this place, that he spends several long minutes touring the corridors and hallways. The moment he last recalls - a blink, a turn, and he had been here - does not surface in all the excitement, fingertips lightly touching the smoothness of the walls and the decor of the tables. By the time he discovers the device in his pocket, the enthusiasm has cooled to curiosity and a calm demeanor that eventually reflects on the video feed that appears. A moving picture? How ingenious. ]

Hello. [ There’s a twitch of a smile, something easy and inviting. ] As things do not seem to have any particular order here, an introduction would be proper in this situation. [ But the very idea of it almost causes him to laugh. ] I am Dorian Gray.

[ His fingertips fill the view as he touches the screen with a somewhat speculative expression. Then, there is nothing but a full, gentle smile. ]

The questions that this place originally instill are not as intriguing as some of the others that immediately come to mind. So, I extend this invitation to you and anyone willing to discuss these... finer details with me. [ A tilt of his head and the thank you is unspoken. ] I look forward to it.

[ Before it ends, the video pans to take in his location: the main entrance hall. If anyone happens to approach him there, he may be somewhat distracted by details of the architecture, hands clasped loosely behind his back. ]

--projection of some kind?

[Today listeners are treated to the sound of a voice in the middle of a sentence. Male. English. Unintentional, from the sounds of it, and audio only. Someone's goofing around with a device, must be a day that ends in "y." The experienced network user knows the signs of someone grappling with the devices' level of technology for the first time: accidental button mashing, weird sounds and even weirder videos, the wide, uncertain looks, the yelling...

In this instance, when the video function comes to life it's not precisely accidental and there's no cursing or someone furiously shaking the machine like the answer to their kidnapping will fall out of it, but you do get the speaker's keen stare, face looming large in the camera like a pale moon. The young man's gaze flicks from point to point in a stern examination before a woman speaks from outside the frame, drawing it toward her.

(The apparatus, it.. displays moving photographs?)

She is near enough to the doctor that her voice could be heard on his recording, but not loud enough to be discernible.]

Like this? That would be-- [Something to see, he is about to say, but someone seems to be catching on to the physics of the video camera despite a disadvantage of about forty years. He finds the zoom out function and the pair of intense blue eyes fly wide.] Oh, now that is fascinating. Come look at this!

[As he lifts the camera, it captures his partner, a woman in a Victorian era dress. Her expression is serious, almost reticent.

These two have clearly got the market cornered on death stares.]

Doctor?

[The grass is soft under her shoes as she moves, stopping when she is close enough for the camera to capture a more detailed examination of her dark, unruly hair and austere expression.]

Is it photographing us as we speak?

[At the realization that the device is actively recording the woman, she retreats back to where she had been standing. She is reluctant to have her photograph taken, even more reluctant to have it taken multiple times on such a small, and strange, device.

The pair have not yet picked up on the fact that others can see or hear them, and responses will be received and answered to, in all manner of confusion and curiosity.]

[ooc: Victor is in green, Vanessa is in purple. At the moment they’re using Vanessa’s device, so replies will come from the both of them accordingly.

There are action prompts below where you can find the pair out and about. These threads will be a threeway, and turning on tracking notifs is recommended.]
