video - first moon
[Briefly a bearded face could be seen on the monitor before the image became blurred, then black before it was facing the ground. Then it flipped back over to show the face of a man whose eyebrow was quirked in thought.]
Gotta say that this is a mighty curious device.
[A pause as he looks it over once more. The thing would certainly put that Edison fellow back in the States to shame. That being said, or rather thought, Ethan figured that he may as well use the device for what it was meant to be used for.]
But I suppose that I should be gettin' right to the point. Anyone friendly out there who can at least hear this? [May as well try and start meeting with the residents.]

Video;
Ethan Chandler.
[A wide smile can be seen, but not much more for a few minutes until she realizes she needs to pull the device back from her face.]
How clever of you to figure out the device so swiftly. The doctor and I struggled with it at first, I still do.
video
Well my dear, Miss Ives. If I might say that it is a right pleasure to be seein' you here.
[His own smile widened, and then even further at her compliment. Really all he did was press the buttons, one at a time to find out which did what.]
The good doctor is here as well then, is he? Then it seems we have all found ourselves on yet another adventure together. But I must also begin by asking if you would care to enlighten this man as to what has taken us?
Video;
Yes, Doctor Frankenstein is here. And another from our world.
[She didn't elaborate on that, and wouldn't unless he asked. Vanessa knew, at some point, he'd come into contact with Dorian Gray. And, while she was doing her best to keep away, she wouldn't judge Ethan if he didn't do the same.]
We should do this in person, I'd prefer it.
Video
I'd say talking in person would be far more pleasant.
[If he can find her, of course.]
Video;
[She would get Victor, and the three of them could meet there. It was good a place as any.]
I will locate Doctor Frankenstein, and meet you there.
[Vanessa turned off her device, and went in search of the doctor. They would both be already waiting for him.]
I didn't really understand it when I found it either.
You just got here, didn't you? Where are you from?
[He doesn't sound like he's from anywhere she's from, but it's polite to ask people about themselves, most of the other rules about introductions are off the table here, and she already feels something in common with someone who has never seen devices like this before.]
Video
I have, though it's kinda hard to say where I'm from. Ya see I move around a lot.
[Not entirely a lie. But Ethan did just meet her. For all he knows there's more to her than just a pretty face. Of course there usually is, in his experience, even the most plain person has a story of their own to tell. And if there is one thing that he knows about, it's tall tells and hidden truths.]
If I might introduce myself first, however, my name is Ethan Chandler.

Hello, Mr. Chandler. My name is Elsa. [After a slight pause, she chuckles one small chuckle, then continues.] Just Elsa. [It's not the custom for her family to use any kind of family name.]
What kind of places have you seen? I'd never really had the chance to travel before I came here. It sounds exciting.
[Her intellectual curiosity wars with a nature that is still, sometimes, a little bit retiring. She could probably travel now, if she were at home, but that would be for the first time in her life. All the great cities of the world have been illustrations in books to her, except the bits and pieces that she's experienced through Wonderland. And maybe she's more of a wilderness creature, regardless -- maybe Arendelle is the perfect degree of civilization for her. She has books and china teacups there, but the forest and mountains aren't too far away.
On the other hand, someone who moves around a lot... did they want to, or did they have to? Someone you've just met is someone you've just met, someone you don't know, even if they seem very charming so far. Either way, the subject interests her.]

[If she didn't want to give a full name then that was fine with him, she would most like have her own reasons for doing so. Whether they be cultural, a far more nefarious reason, or just because she simply had a slip of kind or didn't want to do so.]
As far as where I have been, well I've been to far too many places for me to count. I've been to small towns and villages and barren wastes to large cities.
[A brief pause in his words interrupted him as he became a bit wistful and appeared lost in memory. Really it was all an act, a show for the young lady he was conversing with currently.]
Though I have a sad feeling that you may not be able to recognize the geography. On the other hand, I feel as though ya may recognize the geography of the place I currently have found myself in. [An attempt to try and stead things back to what he currently wanted and needed. Perhaps later, when he didn't lack in knowledge, he would share his own wealth of information and knowledge that he had picked up.
And perhaps they wouldn't be strangers, or worse, adversaries, by then.]

[She's gotten as far as letting people shake her hand, now, without being worried that she'll hurt them somehow, or that by touching her, they'll know. Still, it's easier to shy away from being touched. The system of communication was new to her, but it would have been convenient when she was younger. How would things have been different?
Maybe she would have just broken the device. She moves on to the other subject.]
I guess it's true that I know my way around Wonderland now... for the most part. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of what's happening here. Things can change very suddenly... but the major landmarks usually stay put.
Where are you right now? I mean... what's around you?
[OOC: I AM SO SORRY.]

Have you seen much of the grounds... the beach? There's a garden and a forest, too. And the Vendors, but I suppose you wouldn't have seen those yet.
no subject
Nope, can't say that I have. Just started to fiddle around with this here device.

This is going to sound like a funny question, but I promise it's related to everything else. Is magic normal for you? Have you seen that kind of thing before?
no subject
[Which might include magic. If one could consider demons, vampires and werewolves magical.]

Well -- to begin with, there's a skylight in the foyer.
It's beautiful, but it isn't real. I've been on the roof above it, and it's solid up there. Just a roof.
And when you go to the dining room, the food just appears in front of you. Anything you want. It's the same with your closet: whatever you want is usually there.
[Elsa's needs in relation to her closet are usually modest, and as such, she hasn't yet run up against its limits.]
no subject
That last one sounds quite handy. Anythin' shows up? Just outta the blue?
[The first one sounded rather handy as well, but for different reasons. That being said, as lazy as he wants to be, Ethan would also enjoy cooking his own food, thank you very much.]
no subject
Well, maybe not anything, but most things, like clothes, and... oh, I've asked for supplies that I needed for my dog. A leash and a basket.
There are also the Vendors... they deal in things that are harder to get from the closets. I haven't dealt with them myself, though.
They're a little bit unsettling. Do you like books?
no subject
Ifin I can get my hands on one, would depend on the book.

Re: [Video]
Only way for me to do that is to make ya an acquaintance, I suppose.
Re: [Video]
[She smiles faintly.] So, you got a name?
I do, it's Ethan Chandler. And may I ask for yours?
[Video] Sorry for the delay!
[Her smile grows.]
If you're looking for information about this place, I'm probably not the best one to get it from. I haven't been here much longer than you have.
[Video] Don't be, I'm no better.
[Video] :c

[ And then he's back to being his usual asshole self. ] Welcome to Facebook for the crazies.

Thanks for the welcome.

I must agree with you on this matter, sir! I am yet in the process of mastering it, myself.
( she smiles brightly. )
At court, I am generally thought of as friendly. What about you?
no subject
[And if Ethan has his way he never will. Though he has a pretty good idea.....]
That bein' said, I consider myself to be friendly towards those who are friendly in kind, young miss.
