Okay, public service announcement, here: if you don't filter or lock your messages, we can all see them. And read and hear them. Which usually doesn't matter, but just... I mean, if it's quote-unquote sensitive information, you probably don't want it on the public network. And we don't, either. Usually. And even then... I mean, there're a handful of tech-savvy people in the mansion, so even if it's encrypted, it still could be, you know, decrypted. I'm just saying, it's almost always better to talk in person if you're making big plans or swapping secrets.

That said, does anyone know the network's origin? I mean, I never pegged the Queen of Hearts or the Duchess or whoever to be good with computers. It had to start somewhere, by someone who knew what they were doing. It's a pretty complicated system.

Just... don't tell me it was "magic." [ Sigh. ]

Typically, magic and science are at odds, and I'd assume that includes technology.

But - I've also never run into anything quite this powerful, either. There's no telling what it could've accomplished.

Could be; good point. Wonderland's known in the past for being, like... well, the rabbit hole. Could be it's just part of a bigger world, or universe, and we just are stuck "down here" right now.

I haven't been able to do much on these things other than make stuff private. It's not like there's heavy duty security, but I can't even get them to do some sort of GPS tracking. Seems like something even these things should have, you know?

Right, agreed. But, a lot of people who show up here don't have the same kind of gadgets back home. They're pretty medieval-sounding, at least, some of them are. So... I wouldn't expect them to know.

I'd say yeah, I've got tech experience, but I don't know much about the network, or where it came from. Even the people who've been here the longest don't have a lot to say about it. I'd say our best guess would be the natives, but they're as helpful as asking the hedges.

I can tell you it's both simpler and more complicated than a lot of networks I've seen?

It'd be worth it; if you've got something to say to one or two people and don't want everyone to be able to look at it... you know?

Never had need of a mobile back home and these things seem a bit beyond what I remember seeing in Buffy's--in... somewhere. Not important.

When you're sending the message, you just go into that message's privacy settings and input the names of the people you want to be able to see it. Works the same way for filtering it from people; you'd add the name of whoever you don't want to say it, if it's one or two people, into the "block" box.
