I think I have the gist of things. [He read the pamphlet, which was pretty helpful as a crash course.] But there are still some things I'm confused about.

[His frustration is apparent in a brief pause that follows that admission, however.]

Asking questions won't change the situation, but...can someone explain the part about time not moving?

[Because that is relevant to his interests.]

[Kayo seems a little more unsure. She’s standing just behind Satoru and trying not to draw much attention to herself. Making any kind of announcement to a wide group of people is uncomfortable, and it’s easier to just let him take the lead, if he wants to.]

...Isn’t that impossible?

[She’s quiet, but also not very impressed by the supposed magicalness of the world around them. Life isn’t a storybook and people don’t get whisked away to worlds where time doesn’t exist. It sounds kind of stupid to believe something like that just because someone put it in a professional-looking pamphlet.]

My name is Fujinuma Satoru. I'm eleven. [He adds his age in the hope of demonstrating he's harmless. It's partly a lie, though--he's only physically eleven.]

[Hrggggg he does not like the idea of telling anyone about that. But he thinks of something to say to maybe get out of it. Or at least turn the tables somewhat and get more information himself.]

[He's pretty sure his powers can't be harmful--they seem quite tailored toward helping people, in fact. Well, people other than him.

He nods to himself, then shakes his head in turn.]

What I can do isn't like that. It doesn't even work unless there's someone else it can help.

What do you mean by help? Saving a life?

Yeah. I can go back in time.

[He has to take a breath after saying that. It's clearly not that big a deal here, where people have powers and he's talking to an artificial consciousness, but it's a big deal for him, and he's never told anyone about it in his life.]

Just by a few minutes. But yes, it's to help people--sometimes it saves their lives. Sometimes it's not that dramatic.

I assume that there's a reason for the limitation on the timeframe.

I don't know what it is. I guess to keep me from changing anything too big.

[Although he thinks keeping someone from dying is a pretty huge change.]

Which would be wise. Alterations made to the timeline can have greater effects than anyone can predict.
