We figure it out to an extent. There's a very prevalent culture of fear. People are afraid all the time, isolation is the norm, and most people shy away from touching anyone besides their nearest and dearest.

I mean, I can't blame them.

[ Is her world far from that, at this point? All signs point to chaos very, very soon. ]

But time fixes a lot, I guess. Or so the saying about healing all wounds goes.

People are becoming more afraid rather than less. I'm also a journalist, and the CDC is quite literally killing to bury stories, on a large scale.

If time fixes things, twenty seven years isn't enough.

But...why? If things are getting marginally better and steps toward progress are being made, then what's the point of trying to cover anything else up?
