Greetings. This is Toriel.

So... we have gotten quite a distressing warning from Alice. We do not know quite what it means yet, but I think that we should take it seriously.

I am putting this message out firstly to alert those close to me, but it may be helpful advice to others as well. It may be a good idea to stick together, and ensure that everyone's location is known at all times.

Chara, Asriel, Frisk- please, do not wander off. If you need to leave your room for any reason, please do not do so without letting others know where you are and how long you will be gone. Also, if you are alright with it, I would prefer that you allow either me, Miss Shepard, or someone else that you trust to accompany you.

By the way, Miss Shepard- how would you feel about staying in my room for a few days, until this passes over? Your room is quite a distance away after all, and if things go wrong I would not want you to be too far away where we may be unable to reach you.

Making several days worth of meals is something that can be rather time consuming... if you wish to help, I certainly would not mind!

Do not feel pressured to do so, however. I am more than capable of managing just fine on my own.

[Toriel certainly understands, doing something to take your mind off of things. It's something she's done a lot of.]

I will be happy to offer any assistance that you need. I do not really know how accomplished of a chef you are!

[A tiny peek of dark red out from beneath their lids flickers out, just before the edges of their eyes crinkle, and their lips quirk upward in a vague, slightly wry smile.]

Well, are the things you have made at least edible, and do not make you sick? Because if so, then you are probably better than Chara or Asriel, at least!

[Toriel laughs a bit, and she just... has absolutely no idea. None at all, about how very unpleasant of a thing she's making a joke about.]

[There's a pause that stretches a bit longer than necessary, a moment where their mouth parts and no sound issues from it and they hold abnormally still and their shoulders creep upward faintly in a movement that's more reflexive than anything.]

[A blink, and it's gone again.]

I can make really good canned soup.

[Just going to DETERMINEDLY STEER PAST THAT LITTLE CONVERSATIONAL BLIP THERE, NO BIG.]

[...That was a little weird. Maybe Frisk didn't appreciate poking a little fun at their friends? She'll have to keep that in mind.]

Hm. Not the type of meals which I usually make, though I suppose there is nothing wrong with that! So long as you are getting a variety of other foods, too.

I could help teach you how to make more complicated things, if you like!

[...She feels just the smallest amount of trepidation at the suggestion, the little voice in her head reminding her of the worst, that she shouldn't let her guard down around them or she'll wind up dying again, but.

It's fine. She can ignore those feelings just fine.]

[Don't mess it up. Don't be too eager, or too bright, or too determined. Just be - calm and gentle and patient and safe because she's offering and she's making it sound like it might even be something semi-regular, and they have to be polite and careful.]

[The sentence cuts short, and they bite down on the wall of their cheek before trying again.]

[Toriel nods, a warm smile on her face.

It feels... nice. To be able to move past her fears a bit. Even if she's probably going to be a little nervous while teaching them, even if, if she's being honest with herself, she's... probably going to stand just a bit further away than she needs to when she can... she's still going to be there. She's not going to be letting her fears stop her from being there for a child that desperately needs someone.

It feels nice.]

[And whatever they do, they'll make sure not to touch the knives. Not ever.]
