Um... hello, everyone. I'll try not to other you, and make this quick. I just had a few things to say.

First... during that zombie event, when were trapped in our fantasies... Several of you tried to help me get out of that place, and even though I was really stubborn, I really appreciate what you did. So, thank you.

Second, Valentine's Day was yesterday. Normally I would have given my friends some chocolate, but, um, since we just had an event, I wasn't sure if anyone would be in the mood to have some... B-But I'll be making some in the kitchen, so if you still want one, you can come here and take some.

And last, um... I write down what happens every day in my journals, but lately I was thinking, I'd like to start putting photos in there too... Of both good and bad memories. So I was going to ask the closet for a camera... b-but I don't know a lot about cameras. So, um, I guess, I just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions or tips about that kind of thing...?

Excellent! So, a long, long time ago, before the holiday was created, there was a princess, and a prince who loved her. He created a love potion, in order to make her fall in love with him. [He clears his throat] "A tuft of cloud, a bright rainbow's glow, stir with a pegasus feather, fast not slow, serve to ponies who aren't in the know."

[Because the history books sure have the actual recipes in them, as the best idea ever. ]

It worked, they fell madly in love- but it turned out to be a love poison, rather than a love potion. There was a dragon attack, chaos reigned and the kingdom fell- but the princess could do nothing about it, because she and the prince were too lost in each other's eyes. Nothing else existed around them but each other, as far as they were concerned.

...You know it's probably not all that nice of a story in hindsight. Anyway we celebrate Hearts and Hooves Day to remember that, and celebrate real love, rather than manufactured love.

[Awww, ponies in love, pony royalty, and...

... Uh. That's. That's kind of horrifying. Granted, Saint Valentine was murdered, but Mikan doesn't know about the actual origins of that holiday either.]

... O-Oh. Um. That's... that's a good lesson, definitely.

[Equestrian history all starts adorable and ten swiftly turns awful. How ponykind aren't a mess of basket cases is a mystery unto itself. ]

It is! From what I understand, they managed to find an antidote for the poison- hey had to stop them looking into each others eyes for a full hour. The damage had already been done, of course, but they sort of fixed it? And we got a holiday out of it, so there's that.

Still, it was really wrong for the prince pony to do that... No matter how much you like someone, forcing them to love you is bad. I really hope that it doesn't become an event here... that would ruin a lot of friendships.

I couldn't agree more. Love should be a choice. Taking away others autonomy is-

I know a pony back home who pretty much lives and breathes that statement. It's an admirable thought to have.

I'm pretty certain she'd enjoy this place. She's...um very good at making friends.
