Hey, Wonderland.

I know some of you were super excited to see Superman around, but... he went home a few days ago.
I waited a little while to say anything, because I figured he might come back, but he hasn't.

Wiccan was looking to put together a team of superheroes here in Wonderland, too.
Does anyone have any good ideas for a team name? I guess "Super Friends" isn't cool enough. I think I'll make a poll later with the best ones.
And do any superheroes out there maybe want to join in?

[....Lois is so scary. Kon slumps back and opens his soda.]

….Jon's right.

[No he isn't but it seems like the safest way to go here.]

( lois is, in fact, the scariest when she feels like it. jon knows that well. he looks from lois and back to kon, nose wrinkling as he hears his answer before he's shifting back to lean comfortably against kon's arm, noisily slurping up the root beer that leaked out onto the can's top. )

You're lying.

[ Lois goes over a couple of options, and, seeing that there are no objections, queues up the first selection: the original Godzilla movie in all it's black-and-white goodness. She settles back against the pillow beneath her, getting comfy. ]

Alright, alright. Let's give Kon a break, kiddo. This is his first Kent Family Movie Night and I wouldn't want him to get scared off before we even start.

[For the best she spoke when she did. As soon as Lois turned to put the movies in he started noogieing Jon, but as soon as she turns back around, he drops his hand innocently. Little jerk.]

I'm not scared.

( the high-pitched screech he makes in response isn't helping kon's case any either; jon struggles and pushes against him, but it's nothing more than gentle pushing. jon's hair is a mess by the time he's pulled away--but it's cool. this is cool. he's smiling wide as he looks between kon and lois, and settles back in against lois, cheek against her arm. )

We should watch a scary movie next time! Something super spooky.

[ As Jon moves in closer, Lois ducks her head and presses a kiss to his messy mop of hair. Let's be honest, as it is, between her and Clark, the poor kid did not win the genetic lotto on manageable hair. Impossible to cut, too. ]

Uh-huh, and what do you consider super spooky?

[ She reaches out, pulling one of the bowls of chips forward. ]

What about you, Kon? Any feelings on horror movies?

[He shrugs.] Pretty sure they can't beat some of the stuff I've seen in real life.

( his hair is always a disaster zone but it's a short disaster zone, at least; the curls aren't too tight, coarse strands tend to just. fall over his face, rather than make a giant mess. )

Zombie movies. Also, ones with ghosts! Or vampires.

( 2spoopy. ) Any jump scares. . what've you seen in real life, Kon?

I can think of a couple movies. You'll have to let me think on it, though. I'm not quite sure you're ready for a few of these....

[ You're eleven, kid. These are still the kind of decisions Mom and Dad have a chat about first and Clark's usually the better judge of these things. Lois didn't have a whole lot in the way of restriction growing up. Not that kind, anyway.

Lois pushes the bowl of chips over towards the boys. ]

Somehow I don't doubt that. How long have you been doing the whole Superboy thing?

My whole life?

[Which to be fair, isn't that long. But it feels like a long time for Kon.]

Came out of the test tube ready to fight crime.

( this is suddenly very important, ok. how old is kon. is jon older. does that make him the big brother instead of kon being the big brother.

but he is shoving a fistful of chips into his mouth right after he finishes speaking, so. )

Seconding the question. [ She's trying very hard here not to overwhelm the kid with questions every time they talk, but she's a reporter. She's a nosy reporter. She has so many questions. ] I can't imagine -- and please, pardon my phrasing here, I realize you're a hell of a lot more than this, but -- you clone Superman to make a bunch of Super-tots.

[ ... Okay, pullin' back those chips a little. ]

And you slow down, kiddo. It's not a race.

To be fair, they meant to age me to adulthood before letting me go. And implant a little more conditioning and like, obedience training or whatever.

[The scientists at Cadmus had not exactly been on the up and up. More reasons to be glad he escaped them.]

I was about fifteen when I broke out. That was three years ago.

You're only three years old?

( spoken around a mouthful of chips, which he's quick to try and swallow down so he can focus on kon instead of a mouth full of crunchy potato bits. )

So I'm like. . waaay older.

Hey now, Big Brother. Don't you start teasing.

[ Her attention now completely pulled away from the movie, Lois ruffles her son's hair and leans in a little closer. Of course she's curious, this is some whole other version of their world and their reality -- she wants to know where things match up and how they are different. ]

How did you break out? Why? I mean, if you don't mind me asking, of course...

[Kon rolls his eyes and punches Jon. Affectionately.]

You're the little brother until you get a few more growth spurts, squirt. Deal with it.

[He turns his attention back to Lois.]

Wouldn't you? If you got the chance?
