[ Good evening, Wonderland! Jessica's super perky and giggly. There's so much for her to be happy about! So now everyone gets to witness her trying to be a vlogger, because she is pointedly ignoring anything involving someone's dumb supernatural call out post. ]

There's so much romance floatin' around, I swear, and it's not even Valentine's Day. Not that I've ever known what it's like to be with someone 'round then, but whatever. [ She waves that off. ] People're gettin' married, it's sweater weather and time for cuddlin'... [ She sighs happily. ] It got me wantin' to read somethin' warm and happy for once.

[ She needed something to distract her from her burning desire for vengeance, okay? ]

But okay, so, I just started this series I've always being dyin' to read. Like, it didn't even occur to me that I could do it here! And now I can and it's so good.

[ Jessica's clutching the first book of said mystery series in her hands, the top of it just barely visible on screen. It's like she had to hug it a little to make her point. This shit's the best thing since sliced bread! ]

I know not everybody's from the same world, but somebody's bound to know about it, right? And I bet at least one person's read it, 'cause it's so popular. Like, it's a movie!

[ And so, the lion finally reveals to the lambs what book she means... ]

So, anybody read Twilight? I wanna talk with you all about it!

[ Yes. She is dead serious. ]

Str--! [ There's a loud groan. ] Stop usin' your stupid foreign words!

And I'm not mad! So just let it go!

[ There's a pause. ]

Can I get you anything? Just don't expect food, 'cause I'm not weird like you.

[ Southern hospitality! ]

It's British which is English and is spoken in America, would you just-- [Honestly. He's letting her side-track him and he's annoyed enough by all this already.]

Shut up, you so are! You hung up on me, I have sisters, I know what a mad woman looks like! [Huff huff, now he's got his arms crossed over his chest. What. Is. Her. PROBLEM.]

...No, m'fine. [Awkward. How the hell can she switch gears like that?!]

Yeah, and it's stupid English.

[ She mutters that very softly, knowing full well she could've said it at normal volume. But no, it's more satisfying to be annoying at this point. ]

Well, I'm gonna make myself somethin', because I'm not mad.

[ With a little "hmph!" she heads over to her abnormally small kitchen, which mostly consists of a fridge, microwave, and sink. Design choices are super easy when you're on an all-liquid diet.

She digs out a few bags and makes a lovely blood cocktail, then pops it in the microwave to heat up. As it does, she turns to stare at him. ]

Course you'd come to my room and refuse some good shitty closet blood. You Vikings, I swear.

[ It's almost like she's trying to find reasons to be mad at him! ]

[He watches as she stomps off into her little kitchenette and just... balks at her for a moment or two.]

I literally don't understand anything going on right now. [He says with a sweeping motion with one hand to underline his point.]

[ After her blood's done, she sips at it, eyeing him over the rim of the glass like this is some weird vampire interrogation. ]

Yeah, course you don't. 'Cause you're you.

[ With his stupid good looks and stupid accent that she really likes even more all of a sudden!

She takes a long drink, still eyeing him. ]

Bet you're not even 1,000. You're probably 999 and lyin' to seem older.

What the fuck does that even mean, Jessica?! [This is really bloody annoying and he is getting tired of it, really quickly.] Why can't you just answer a simple question?!

You don't believe me about my age, you go right on an' ask Freya about it.

[ Her eyes slowly narrow. Why can't he just understand her feelings?!

Jessica downs the rest of the blood in a large gulp, slamming the glass down. ]

Ughh! Gettin' info outta her can be just as bad as gettin' it outta you!

[ Which is mostly a lie, but still.

One second she's there, the next she's blurred out of her room, leaving the loud clap of a door slam in her wake. This was so fucking impossible! Seth probably did this all on purpose to fuck with her! She's all confused and discombobulated!

...And barefoot, she now realizes. But whatever! She needs to run somewhere, and being outside seems like a better option than being stuck around someone who's just become even more of a maddening puzzle. ]

[Perhaps because she hasn't actually said them!]

I doubt it. [He pulls a face. Freya may be a Mikaelson and by default that may mean certain things are surely off-limits and a lot like pulling teeth to get out of her, but he's pretty sure his eldest sister is far more of a straight shooter than he is???

And now she's leaving. What is she doing? Where is she going?! He darts out of the room after her spectacular door-slam to chase her through the mansion halls out to the gardens.] What are you doing? Why on Earth are you leaving your room?!

[He snatches her arm and pulls her toward him to make her look at him.] What the bloody hell is all of this about, and stop trying to blow me off about it already!

I don't know!

[ It's cried out in frustration, half because she's confused herself mightily, half because Kol won't let her run away from her feelings. Because there are a lot of feelings!

Jessica presses her lips together in a helpless frown. She was never taught healthy emotions, so topping that off with being an irrational, impulsive vampire and having her most recent example of a normal vampire relationship be a questionable one? She's at a loss here. Anger seemed easier. ]

I'm just...bein' a dumb girl.

[He lets his hand drop away from her arm, coming back to fold his arms across his chest.]

Well-- can ya stop for five seconds and actually tell me what's goin' on? Or at least lemme give ya this. [His last comment is spoken like a realization dawning for the first time and he slips his hand into his pocket and pulls out a gold wrap-around ring with a blue stone in the center, perfectly spelled by his sister to help with a specific sun allergy.

He holds it out to her and shrugs.] I was gonna give it to you earlier, but you sort of-- [There's a wave of one hand.] went off on me an' all.

It's Seth, gettin' in my head and--

[ Jessica was moving to cross her arms as well, wanting to shield herself from the torrent of emotions coming at her from every direction, but Kol pulling out the ring makes her freeze.

Eventually, she lets out a choked sort of squeak. ]

What the fuck!

[ She's gawking at the ring like he's offering her a monogrammed stake. Is this happening right now? IS TONIGHT REAL? ]

[He groans.] What the fuck did that git say to get you all twisted up?

[There's some flaily handwaving going on here because he is not sure what she's freaking out about at all.] What?! I told you I'd see if my sister could spell you a ring. Did you think I wasn't serious?

[ Hesitantly, she takes it from him, nearly expecting it to burn her like his silver ring did. Nothing happens, though, not even a strong jolt of energy to show it was truly special. As far as anyone else could tell, it was just another piece of jewelry. ]

Um, it doesn't really matter anymore. Don't worry 'bout it.

[ She rolls the ring between her fingers for a while before slipping it on. Strange how something so significant as being able to stop fearing the sun was caught up in such an insignificant action. The gravity of the situation almost makes her feel faint. ]

I--no. I didn't. I mean, I'm just...me. I'm not cool enough.

[ Her emotions are getting more volatile, and before she can stop it, she's burst into tears. ]

Jesus Christ, this is so fuckin' much!

Yeah, I don't buy that. [But that's all he'll say on the matter, really. He'll let it drop unless she feels the need to keep on about it.

He watches her toy with and consider the ring before she actually puts it on.]

I don't make promises I won't keep. [He may have incredibly twisted views on very many subjects, but he does generally tend to try to keep his word. Unless that word was just deceit all along and part of a bigger plan, but honestly, details! He'd really meant this all along!

Aaaand then she's crying. Why is she crying? Bloody hell.]

What's too much? Bloody hell, Jessica, get it together. [Blood tears are still weird. He's not good with regular crying, why does her have to be so.... extra?]

Shut up! I'm havin' a moment!

[ At this point, she's bent over with one hand holding her hair back. It might look like she's about to barf, but no, she's just trying to make the tears drip to the ground to keep them off her cheeks. Having a handkerchief on her at all times was starting to seem like a very good idea.

Jessica stays like that for a few minutes, sniffling every now and then. When she's feeling calmer, she straightens back up. Her eyes are rimmed with a lovely red hue, but the rest of her face has been spared. Success!

After scrubbing at her nose, she grumbles at him. ]

This is a really big fuckin' deal, okay! I didn't think I'd be seein' the sun again anytime soon!

[ She gives him a petulant stare, her lower lip quivering as if she might cry again, but instead she steps over to tug him into a hug, whether he wants it or not. ]

Thanks, jerk.

[He watches her for a moment, glad to see her right herself after a moment or two. He's smirking and trying not to laugh as she yells at him about the sun and the big deal this all is.]

You're welcome.

[ She snorts, pulling back and giving him a look. ] You don't have to say it like that.

[ Figuring it's best not to let the affectionate gestures go on for too long, she lets go and steps away. Honestly, though? There was a part of her that wanted to keep holding on. With Kol's unpredictability, however, she was just a tiny bit afraid to take chances. Who the hell knew where he'd toss her this time?

Instead of worrying herself with that for too long, Jessica raises her hand to look at the ring more. ]

God, just...I've spent so much time here worryin' I might get thrown out in the sun again and won't be as lucky as when it first happened. Now I got this. [ A sudden thought strikes her. ] And oh my God, I might actually be able to not worry 'bout my room bein' light-tight! I can just--

[ She presses her lips together to calm the tremble in them. ] I can be normal.

[It's a strange thing, seeing her reaction to this. But he hasn't really had issues with the sun in a very, very long time and it's almost hard to remember what that had been like at all. The daylight rings were relatively common in certain circles of the vampire community back home, so it's easy to forget how much of an issue it can truly be for some.]

At least that is a worry you can put behind you now. I dunno about normal, but-- [He shrugs a bit.] close enough. [He grins.]

Asshole. [ She hops close enough to sock him in the arm. Lightly and playfully, though! Very lightly and playfully. ] I know I'm not normal!

[ With a soft, happy sigh, she lifts her hand up higher this time, wiggling her fingers, watching the moonlight play through them and the ring sparkle.

Now? It wouldn't be too long until that would be sunlight.

After dropping her hand, she glances over at him, smirking. ]

'Sides, you're not exactly the prime example of normalcy, Mister Kol Mikaelson.
