[There's no particular reason Satoru chose audio over video. Despite how young his voice is, the adult in him is coming through in how tired he sounds.]

I bet I'm not the only one that event was kind of hard for. Even thinking things might have turned out that way makes me want to...

No...I suppose there wasn't. But you still did the right thing- even if it may have been the only thing.

I think, in your case, you didn't know any better. You were really young still, weren't you?

I was, but I was still old enough to know better. And I certainly had plenty of chances to make it right as I grew up. But didn't.

[At least the event has made him reach maximum pain with this subject, so digging it up isn't harming as much as it usually does. Thanks Wonderland.]

That's true...

[Sunburst is an adult now after all.

He's quiet for a moment, thinking. When he speaks again, it's a little slowly, as though he's trying to choose his words.]

When I grew up [Which is a weird thing to say in his current body.] I didn't really get along with my mom. I hardly ever saw her or even spoke to her. It's not really the same thing as with you and Starlight, but when mom died, I could only think that I had lost all that time and that it was my own fault.

[It's definitely not the same thing, since his mom was dead, not enslaving people. But he can still empathize.]

It's easy to say what you should have done. I think what matters more is what you're doing about it now.

[Which he knows is easy to say. Letting go of that kind of thing isn't that simple.]

[Sunburst listens, and that's all very true. Starlight is, at least, still alive. And they have been rebuilding their relationship. Wonderland has mucked things up a bit, with her being in his past- he remembers far more bonding moments between them than she does. But still, they try, and that's what matters.]

That's very true. And we can make something of our lives here. Try to make up for lost time. At least here we don't have half the country separating us.

[Then, after a pause.]

I'm sorry about your mom.

Oh...thanks. She's okay now.

[And if everything goes according to plan and Yashiro wasn't lying to him, she'll stay that way.]

Anyway...I hope you feel better about things soon. Like you said, we've got a lot of time here to make things better.

Yeah? That's...good. I'm glad.

[He offers a small, tired smile.]

I'm sure I'll be fine eventually.

[Or he'll learn to fake it better.]

It's fine if it takes a while.

[He's had to learn to be okay with not being okay.]

I suppose it has no choice otherwise.
