[1st Dive] Video

[When the video starts up, there's still some purple smoke floating in the air. The camera tilts, and it shows a figure that might be vaguely familiar to some residents, for one reason or another: Lanky, bad posture, wearing an old-fashioned diving suit tailored to fit a young girl. As the camera is apparently put down somewhere, the bed in the room can be seen. On top of it is a small, skinny doll with a bubble-shaped head with little toy arm-spikes. Soon, though, a real helmet and real arm-spike equipped gloves are set down next to it, and a girl of about 16 or 17 hops up onto the bed. When she speaks, it seems like she's addressing the machine, but she isn't quite looking at it, either.]

Well... It certainly looks just the way I left it. I couldn't find any of them, though.

[She gives a quick, short chuckle, which doesn't sound as convincingly lighthearted as she meant it to sound. She then finally looks to the camera, wearing an equally unconvincing smile.]

I... don't suppose there's anyone I know here, is there?

They're like squids, but smaller, and they can change the color of their skin to pretend to be other fish. They're very intelligent.

[She gets up and walks off the screen, over to the closet.]

That's it? You just... think about it really hard? That simple?

[There's a long pause, and suddenly there's the sound of rushing water, a squeal, and a few thuds. Some sputtering, coughing, and wet, sticky noises later, and a very soaked Eleanor reappears with an octopus stuck to her shoulder. She coughs a few more times before wiping her hair out of her face.]

... That wasn't quite what I was expecting.

[That wasn't what Pinkie had expected either, but the way her eyes have lit up suggests that she's incredibly impressed with this new development.]

One sec, I have to test this!

[She dashes off-screen. When she reappears, she's riding a surfboard on the wave of water that comes crashing through her room.]

Woo! So that's your new pet, the octopus?

[Eleanor watches in bemusement, and barely manages to sputter out an answer to the question.]

Ah... Y-Yes, I suppose it is.

... Her name's Marian.

[She tries to pull it off her shoulder, only to get it stuck to her hand.]
