[ It’s noon, and Entranceway’s newest arrival is curious as fuck. She’ll be wandering about the gardens, snooping around the mansion, peeking in through windows, staring at the blue skies that make up the entrance hall’s ceiling, sniffing the food in the kitchen, and everything in between.

There are mysteries here, and Naoto Shirogane, ace detective, is on the case. If that means interrogating the shit out of anyone who crosses her path, so be it.

Eventually, she’ll find the communications system and, after spending a while figuring it out (it's not hard to find previous posts and others' conversations), she’ll send out a brief, private message: ]

[ Okay, you got her. That warrants a giggle. A very low-key, chuckle-more-than-giggle affair, but it could still be classified as a giggle. ]

Seriously though, it's good to see a familiar face. It's been forever since I've seen anyone else from the IT; I miss you guys.

I understand. [ He can't be lying to her, right? Sure, he could sass with the best of 'em, but sassiness doesn't translate to outright deceit. If he said he'd been here a year and a half, then... ]

18 months, then. That's a long time. [ She'll trust him, even if every fiber of logic in her being says he's full of bullshit. Only a few months ago, if someone mentioned a world in a TV, she would have thought they were mocking her (hell, she did think they were mocking her). ]

Have you been alone most of that time? I saw that Souji-senpai was on the network, but I haven't had the time to [ stalk all his conversations ] see his earliest posts.

[He's glad that she decides to trust him this time. It's a pointless argument he doesn't want to have, and would just prove itself in time. She's smart enough to pick up on that.]

I was here for about a month before he showed up. Kanji was here for a little bit too, but that was a long time ago...

[Oh geez, here comes another one. He bits his lip a little as he wishes there was some clean and easy way to get her to believe this.]

I've heard something of a similar vein from another-- that I had been here before. While I'm afraid I still don't understand how that's possible, hearing the same from two separate sources, at the very least, makes it probable.

There are a lot of people here that probably remember the last time you were here, is that makes it easier for you. We... Don't really understand either. The best way someone explained it to me once was that you could consider who you are in every moment in time is a different possible you. So when the mansion takes a person from a different moment...

Hm. That's... a very curious conception of reality. One with a large number of consequences that plenty of theorists would love to examine. [ daaaaaaang ]

However, I'm not much of a theorist. I feel like some assumptions must be made to understand this place, and that must be one of them. Until something proves otherwise, I'll... I'll take your word for it. [ One logical concession after the other. Wow, this is difficult. ]

Trust me, I barely understood what just came out of my mouth. You'll see that you just have to go with a lot of things if you don't want to go nuts trying to figure everything out.

Ah, yes. "Events." I've heard a little about them. How often do they occur?

Really regularly. That's one of the weirdest things about them; they're consistently every two weeks. Looking back I can only count a handful of times where it didn't fit the that pattern.

Have you observed any other patterns besides that?

Nope. Other than that, anything can happen, as long as it's somewhere in someone's memories.

Does it usually sample from certain types of memories? Childhood ones, ones created before coming here, ones created here? Perhaps it targets the memories of only a few? It can't be an entirely arbitrary system; especially when we consider how consistent they are when it concerns timing.

Well... I guess anything dangerous, or exciting? Or just, weird? It's hard to explain. Usually "normal" sort of memories don't happen. If "normal" really means anything.

In other words, things that would stand out to the individual-- things with high emotional value.

Uh, yeah. That sounds about right.

[Here it comes again. That slightly irritating feeling of being around someone way, way smarter than you. although he's a little more mature than he used to be, and it doesn't bother him as much.]

I wonder why those memories are singularly important, though. If we consider those memories as being somehow stronger than other mundane ones, perhaps they're the only ones that Wonderland can work with? Or perhaps it targets those memories specifically for some other purpose?

Whatever the case, further investigation is necessary. We'll need to gather a list of as many previous events as possible-- talk to the ones whose memories they came from, and understand the emotional importance of those memories.

We think that the mansion feeds on memories. It really seems to have a mind of it's own... Sometimes even the Queen seems to be working for someone else.

If you want something like that, you should ask Minato. I'm pretty sure he's been keeping a list of nearly everything that happens here.

Ah, yes. I've spoken with him before. [ "You won't have to investigate alone." ]

He's trustworthy, right?

About as trustworthy as they get. He's one of my best friends.
