[The explosions sends her flying backwards and her head cracks against a wall that sends sparks dancing in front of her eyes.

Rolling, Ellen pushes herself up. The phone next to her chirps and she grabs it, unwittingly turning on the video function. There's nails in her body and bruises blossoming along her skin. Scrapes and gashes seep blood. The first breath hurts and gouges into her lungs.]

So much for Paradise.

[She forces herself into a sitting position and notices the phone.]

Great, cell service in Heaven. Damn I could use a drink.

[The second deep breath hurts just as much as the first. Damn, isn't there supposed to be a happily ever after? This sucks.]

Cas, just so you know, Heaven sucks.

[ Hello, Ellen. You may not recognize the man on the video feed, but he certainly recognizes you, if only from Sam's recollections. ]

This is not Heaven.

Certainly hope not. Wanted my eternal reward, not this bullshit.

[Well, okay, maybe suicide is a cardinal sin, but she'd also killed hellhounds and saved the boys. That counted right?]

If this isn't Heaven, where the hell did I get blown to.

[ She fought against the Devil, which ought to be enough. Management's a lot less choosy, these days. ]

The residents call it Wonderland. [ And it's pretty clear from Lucifer's tone what he thinks about that. ] Another world.

I'm sure Heaven would have been preferable for you, Ellen Harvelle.

[She's about to make some quip about a cheap Heaven knock off and try to push herself up and get moving. She needs to get the nails out, if nothing else and she's pretty sure, there's a few pieces of rock salt in the wounds and oh... that hurts.

Except, he says her name.]

Who the hell are you?

Lucifer.

[ Which could almost pass as a joke - as unassuming a vessel as Nick is - but for the utterly matter-of-fact way Lucifer says it. He's never gone to great lengths to hide who he is, especially here. ]

The Winchesters will be pleased to see you.

[She sucks in a breath. Lucifer. She has no reason not to believe him.]

I'm sure they're just tickled to be here with you.

[Those wounds are alarming, to say the least, and Souji jumps past the "welcome to Wonderland" pleasantries to point this out.]

You look like you're really hurt. Do you need help?

I'll live.

[Paranoia is strong. She won't trust anyone just yet. Except Jo and even then, she's using the flask of holy water in her jacket.]

I can heal you. [Why why are people so resistant to his Nice Guy Aura (TM).]

[Because the Devil spoke up first, and she just came from holding her dead daughter and blowing hellhounds up. Also: Paranoid hunter is paranoid.]

Thanks, but I got it kid.

[Jo's breath catches in her throat as she scrambles to grab her phone, fumbling with it a little before managing to get it facing the right way, her hands shaking. She'd know that voice anywhere, but it almost seems too good to be true. It wasn't all that long ago that she'd been talking to both Castiel and James about how much she wanted to see her mother here, how she felt selfish about wanting to rip her out of Heaven so that she could be here.

And yet there's no mistaking that voice for anyone else.]

Mom!

[God, she looks awful. Jo is already on her feet and in motion, gritting her teeth as she squints at the image on the screen, trying to place exactly where her mother has turned up. Damn it, legs, run faster.]

I'm on my way -- can you point out any landmarks? Just sit tight, I'll be right there and we can get you to the clinic--

[Her voice is strained with a note of panic, no matter how hard she tries to swallow it down. Her mother is here. No matter how often they may have butted heads in the past, for the last six months Jo has wanted nothing more than to see her again. She's needed her.]

[He sighs through his nose, but nods.]

There's a clinic on the first floor. The doctors there are really good, if you're willing to go see them.

[But if she's not...] You can also get first aid supplies from a closet.

You got any idea where the hell we are?

[He doesn't usually greet the new arrivals; every man for himself, etc. And she's banged up, that's true, but he's seen worse, and he's not about to play hero for anyone.

So, instead:]

If this is your idea of Heaven, miss, I'd nary wish that ye'd share your idea of Hell.

It's called Wonderland.

It's definitely not Heaven.

[There's a catch to her voice, a tremor that she can't hide and won't because the last time she saw her daughter.... She blinks back the tears. No. It can't be. It's Lucifer messing with her mind. She knows that to be true.

No, it can't be true. Because Jo... Jo had... Ellen swallows down the tears, forcibly blinking them away. Lucifer and whatever demon he has that's toying with her sure as hell ain't going to draw her into this trap.

But instead of arguing, instead of shutting off the video and pushing the pain away, Ellen looks around.]

Garden shed, of some sort. I can see a greenhouse.

[Her voice is finally steady and she's not going to get emotional. No. She's just going to play this out to the end.]

[She snorts, leaning her head back.]

There's no whiskey, and Lucifer's here. Close enough to hell. Just need that bitch Meg to show up and a few hellhounds and it'll be just like home.

[Pain hurts.]

Got that when the Devil piped up.

Oh. Him.

[Souji's only talked to him once, but that was enough, really.]

I can explain how things work here, if you want. I've been here a few years.

[She's just going to raise an eyebrow at him, because that's an unusual reaction.]

Years?

Oh, nay, ye missed the hellhounds by a month or so. Come and gone, so they have.

[And hey, that had been the last 'event' in this place that had been fun. The rest are just playing mindgames, and he's...Well.

Either way, there's a pause, as he's not really here to play tour guide, but the need for a drink after showing up here is something he very well understands. ]

The fifth floor of the main building holds a tavern that be not quite a tavern, if ye understand. And I suppose ye could always ask one of the closets nicely for a drink or two.

A little over two years, I think. It was two in June.

[He hurries to add:] But most people don't stay that long. Most people are here around six months and then get sent back to the time they came from.

[She brushes a hand through her hair. There's a cascade of salt, glass, splinters... and things she doesn't want to think about.]

I'm gonna need more than a drink or two. Don't suppose there's a way out of this place?

[Trapped with Satan? No. Thanks.]

So, let me get this straight.

[She is not nearly coherent nor drunk enough for this.]

I blew up a store full of hellhounds and ended up in some weird through the rabbit hole place?

The timing is probably a coincidence.

But uh...did you kill them? [Those things suck and going back to deal with them in her condition would suck even more.]
