[ Well, well. Something clearly isn't right here. Though he's young--about fourteen--and doesn't remember Wonderland, Sam is still a hunter. Won't advertise it, but is smart enough to be wary, and peers into the device with a youthful, but suspicious glance. ]

Hey. Not cool. [ He huffs shortly, seemingly unconcerned that he's been kidnapped. ] Usually, I think people make demands when they've got hostages. Right? And I haven't heard anything yet.

[ Sam peers into the little camera, unused to the technology of a network like this, but also very smart. ]

A few. [ Nonspecific. Sorry, Cas, he isn't sure he can trust you. Especially with a name like that; you sound like a religious nut. ]

[Sam clearly doesn't trust him, and there's not much reason for him to, from his perspective. This is not a situation Castiel prepared for, and so he's at something of a loss for how to handle it.

He'll just carry on the conversation as if they don't know each other. What else can he do?]

So, you haven't left, which means there's either no way out or you're one of them.

[ "Which is it?" is the question, here. The third option, of course, is that you're just a dude in a coat, and you need big, experienced hunters to bust you out. Yup. ]

There's no way out. The ones in charge, at least that we know of, are called the Queen of Hearts and the Red Queen. Like from the story.

[Sam seems like the kind of person who would have read a fair amount as a child, or so Castiel's hoping.]

[Dean may be new to all of this himself, but he would be able to handle a younger Sam much better than Castiel.]

People keep saying that, but I don't think it's real. [ And he believes in a lot of stuff. ]

... How d'you know Dean? [ When older Sam would be suspicious, this one is curious. Trusts the guy a little more. ]

[Castiel doesn't bother hiding that he knows Sam's a hunter. If that makes him seem more suspicious, then so be it, but at least it will add some depth to their conversation.

As for how he knows Dean, well, there's plenty to be said there, but he keeps it simple.] We're friends.

... Maybe. [ This guy is acknowledging monsters and demigods; he might be a hunter. Needs further analysis. ]

Friends, huh? You seem pretty old to be his friend.

[Too old to be Dean's friend? Well, if that were the case, then Castiel wouldn't be able to befriend any humans. It doesn't matter if Dean's thirty or twenty, Castiel's still eons older than him.]

[Even at this age, Sam is too sharp for his own good. Castiel's mouth thins out into a line.]

I do, yes. [Because he is that angel, but explaining that now will only make things far too complicated.]

Did your parents know that?

I have a complicated relationship with my parents.

[Parent, actually. But telling Sam at this age that his Father is God might just break him. Although more likely is that Sam simply wouldn't believe him.]

Complicated enough for them to name you after an angel?
