[ The video comes to life with a dull thud as Isaac's communicator falls off the couch and onto the floor. He doesn't sound or look all too bothered by it, if it weren't for the quick glance, it'd look like he doesn't even notice.

The video's sideways but it shows both Allison and Isaac, she's on the floor with her back against the couch in question, while he is draped across it, seeming to take up far too much room. His attention is back on Allison, and he's looking a bet vehement. ]

No way, Black Widow has all the same powers as Batman, less money, and still manages to kick more ass. Then there's the whole [ Airquotes ] men are supposed to be stronger than women thing.

[ Allison turns another page in the comic she's reading, totally unaware of the device having fallen, or it even being on. As far as she knows, she's just talking to her boyfriend, while also trying to educate herself on comics.

Well, "talking". They're mostly just arguing at this point. ]

Yeah, but she also had training, almost to a brainwashed level, for a government agency. Batman had to get all that done himself, without the help of the government hiding him. Money doesn't count when you have a country's taxes paying for everything.

[ But then she leans her head back, looking up at him with a smile. A content smile. A "that was cute you got brownie points for that one" kind of smile. Isaac may or may not get lost in her eyes for a second before leaning down to steal a chaste kiss. The fact that she's actually learned so much about this, well, it's endearing.

When he leans down to give her the kiss, she kisses him back. Light, easy. As far as she knows they're alone, after all, so what's the harm? ]

I'll give you the girls versus boys argument, though, but I'm not saying she's not really awesome. I'm just saying that in a fight, if given the time to research and prepare, Batman would totally win.

Batman has had training too! He's had lots of training -- I thought you said you watched the movies. And he has the money to get even more training. Money definitely counts, it totally cancels out her previous training and all the S.H.I.E.L.D. training. Besides Batman is a total crybaby, he gets upset over everything - Black Widow uses all the problems she's faced in her life as something to build off of. Batman's life isn't even that bad, but he acts like it couldn't get worse. Black Widow wouldn't need to research to kick Batman's ass.

You know what else? Black Widow has an interesting story. Batman? Not so much. Do you know how boring Batman actually is? Can you hand me my phone.

[ He leans back away from her and reaches an arm out to point at it, hoping she'll comply.

But when he leans back again, her smile drops and she huffs a little, mostly at herself.

She's not exactly a scholar, after all. ]

I meant that his training was self-driven. He wanted to be his ideal so he went out to learn everything he needed to do. He's a genius, yeah, but other than that he wasn't all that special. I have seen the movies, we watched them a couple of months ago. And money does not cancel out her previous and S.H.I.E.L.D. training!

[ She's not really upset, just kind of playing up her huff when she uses the comic to reach over her head and whack him. ]

Are you kidding me? He does not get upset over everything. Have you seen the movies? It also doesn't matter how bad his life is or how interesting his story is. What matters is the good he's doing. Trying to stop criminals and fight injustice, at the expense of his whole life.

He devoting himself to an ideal. You know, kind of like a code? [ She shoots a look over her shoulder at him, like she's asking him to argue that, as she reaches over to pick up the device and hand it to him over her shoulder, not even looking at it as she does so.

The feed moves with her as she moves the camera, pausing as it hangs over her shoulder. ]

Batman would so win.

[ And you have to agree to get your phone back.

Isaac tries to snatch it out of her hand, only to be denied a couple times before he gives up and makes a noise in the back of his throat that manages to sound offended... And then he's lunging off the couch to tackle her, knocking the device out of her hand and to the ground, where he snatches it up... Only to see that it's been recording from where he's perched on her. Not very comfortable, but that's what she gets for cheating! ]

Great... [ And with that, it clicks off. ]

My opinion on the matter wouldn't be at all informed, I'm afraid, as I haven't read any of the comic books to which you refer.

Though I'm curious myself, now. Do we have more of these comic books here? For others to read?

That makes sense. Honestly, I'm not nearly as informed as some people. [ she says, both annoyed but slightly fond to a certain someone also in the room with her. but then she's smiling back to the feed, nodding. ]

I'm sure there are some in the library somewhere, or from the closets! All the ones I've read are Isaac's if you want to ask him to borrow them.

[ He's certainly amused by their entire exchange, and the fondness is apparent to him, so he smiles softly. ]

I'll certainly ask him.

[ that comes out automatically, at first, but then she looks as though she recognizes something, looking back at him. ]

Robin of- you mean like Robin Hood?

[ whoops. sorry. was that a secret? ]

[ He's used to it by now, though, and smirks a little. ]

Though, I'm not quite like the Robin Hood you've likely read about in books, or seen in those things referred to as movies.

[ she doesn't even try to stop the grin. ]

So you're an archer?

[ because that's all that really matters to her at this point. ]

Steal from the rich, give to the poor?

[ There's a dimpled smile on his face in response. ]

You're correct on both accounts.

And I have a son, which I've heard is a deviation from many of the stories circulating about me.

[ say hello to some matching dimples. because archers. ]

I don't know about any son, but I'm not a Robin Hood scholar. It's still nice to meet you.

[ Even though he's not aware of what she's thinking, the smile is encouraging. ]

[ let her fangirl in peace, robin. she'd done enough of it publicly thanks to this whole network post. ]

Things are strange here when it comes to information. Something well known in one place could be a well-kept secret in another, or not even exist. It's hard to get used to.

I've been here a ye- [ she stops, blinks, realizes what she almost said and immediately goes to make it seem like her entire foundation didn't just shift. ] A while, sorry.

[ Which he thinks is adorable, for the record. ]

I fear it may take some time on my part to get used to knowing what's seen as fact in one world, and fiction in another.

[ So, he gets that. Especially since he knows he's fictional in some worlds. ]

You might not even get completely used to it, honestly. I know I'm not.

[ reassuring smile? sorry, robin. for being an 'old timer' allison still feels like she's out of her element most of the time. ]

Tell me about it. And then when we go home it's like no time passed at all.

I doubt I'll ever get completely used to any place that keeps me from my son.

[ He smiles, though, because she means well, and he appreciates it. ]

There's hardly a point to it all, though whatever brought us here quite obviously disagrees.

[ she nods, understanding that, and giving him a small smile in return. ]

There's always hope he'll show up. I was that same way with my dad, before he got here.

[ she pauses, then ends up shrugging. ]

I don't know about that- there's a war going on here that we've only got glimpses of. I kind of feel like we must have been brought here for that.

It might be odd to say, but I'm not sure I'd prefer him to be here, given some of what's happened since I've arrived.

[ It's a strange feeling as a parent; wanting to lay his eyes on his son again to be sure he's safe, yet not wanting him to be in a place that's...not

I've seen some of that, and I imagine I'll see more of it in my time here. Whatever our purpose, it's evident that the more allies we have amongst ourselves, the better.

[ allison just kind of breaks out into a slow, small smile. ]

No, I'm sure if you talked to my dad he would have said the same thing. Pretty sure that's just being a dad.

[ she nods, then, sighing a little. ]

Really, you'd think it'd be easy for us all to team up and work together. But there's so many of us here that organizing anything too big is almost impossible.

[ He smiles a bit when she says that. ]

I suppose that's a feeling shared amongst fathers.

It can be unwieldy with too many people. Have you taken up with any sort of group here?

[ her smile is a little telling, something along the lines of wow you're such a dad. it's cute, though. ]

Doesn't surprise me. [ but then she's nodding, because that's something she can actually answer. ] There is. There's something called the Resistance here. They get together to try and protect everyone here, while also trying to figure things out. I don't know if you know an Emma Swan?

[ He really is such a dad, though, and he knows it whenever he speaks of his son. Or even when he speaks with people like her, people he very quickly feels protective of. ]

I do know her quite well, actually, though we haven't had a chance yet to speak of anything like that. You're involved in this Resistance as well, I take it?

[ Or she might just know of it, though he's not sure how many people just know about it without being involved directly. ]

[ so it might be kind of stupid but the moment robin mentions knowing emma, allison is smiling. ]

I am, or I'm trying to be. Just a soldier at this point.

[ she's not going to play up just how much she wants to be involved. not yet. even if that excitement is pretty easily read in her expression. ]

[ Her enthusiasm elicits a bright smile from him, and he extends an offer: ]

Perhaps I can speak with her a bit on your behalf?

[ her eyes widen a bit at the idea. ]

Really? [ and then she shakes her head. ] No, I mean- it's not that big of a deal. [ a sort of sheepish smile. ] I kind of want to get there on my own? If it makes sense.

I do understand that quite well.

And I've no doubt at all that you will.
