[Mandy's actually very used to waking up in strange places without having much memory of how she got there, and Wonderland has a leg up on some in that she's still fully dressed. The phone's confusing as all hell, she's not used to one that one can do more than talk on, but she figured that out after punching a few buttons. She really is much more clever than the airhead act she'd been putting on most of the last three years.
Still, the act--The Divine Miss Mandy Slade--doesn't die as easily as she would like. She should have known that it would take far more than a pile of legal mumbo jumbo to get Brian Slade out from under her skin, to stop performing every bloody second of her life. So, what the citizens of Wonderland will hear is certainly not her real voice--which would come out very flat, tired, and American. Instead, they'll hear an almost coyingly-sweet accent anyone with half a brain will know is a very fake British]
Right, since it appears I actually haven't gone completely off my rocker just yet after all, I've just a few questions for all you boys and girls and....whomever else may be inhabiting this lovely little estate. The first being that there are two men I am quite curious to know the whereabouts of. One might be a bit harder to spot, a Mr. Curt Wild. Although, if he's been here for any length of time without access to an electric guitar or certain other--indulgences, I suspect he may have made his presence a bit better known. The other may be going by any number of names, although the most likely would be Mistah Brian Slade. You'd know him by his shockingly blue hair and--
[half a dozen of Brian's other body parts go through her mind, and it hurts, remembering how beautiful he was once upon a time. How beautiful it all was, for a moment.
She clears her throat, before she actually starts crying again. She's done enough of that, and she swears that giving Brian the satisfaction of seeing it as he laughed her out of his life will be the last time it happens. The accent drops, suddenly, and if anyone could see her face they could almost see the mask she'd plastered on fall as well. It was easier to talk about Curt; she doesn't fear what being in his presence might make her do]
My other question is, does anyone happen to have any smokes?

She chuckles at Martha's question] An alien, a god, it all sort of became mashed together after a point. Fame and cocaine do a rather number on one's brain, especially when one is already an egotistical prick. [she would have said ambitious, not long ago. And she still gives he was that, too] His, ah..'persona', if you will, was an alien rockstar by the name Maxwell Demon, sent down to earth to save us all with his fabulous music. Problem was, he started to believe he was Maxwell, after a bit, which made things rather...interesting for those of us around him who preferred Brian
[audio]
Maxwell Demon has to be one of the most ridiculous names Martha has ever heard, and that alone could convince her that this is in fact that product of a very confused mind, rather than anything actually extraterrestrial.]
That sounds... difficult to deal with. I hope he was able to find some help.
[At this point, Martha feels like she can't hold her own experience as close to the chest as she'd originally planned to.] You know, I have a friend who actually is an alien. You'll think I'm mad, but it's the truth -- we went traveling through time and space together.
Re: [audio]
[she still isn't sure if she hates Shannon or pities her, these days.
She is taken aback by the bit about Martha's friend. She's inclined to ask what the other woman is tripping on, but--well, it's hard to dismiss anything right now]
Would it be too cliche to start in on the 'we're all mad here' business? What'd your friend look like, then?
[audio]
Still, they've spoken more than enough about a man who's clearly no longer in Mandy's life. Whereas the Doctor is still very much a part of Martha's.]
It is an often-used quote here. And... he's here, actually. He looks human enough, but there's a dead giveaway in that he has two hearts.
[It's how Martha had found out what he was, after all. A bit strange to hear that through the stethoscope.]
[audio]
Ah. [that's all she can say, for a moment. She's tempted to ask Martha what she's on, but she's pretty good at telling when someone's tripping. This woman seems far too sober for comfort, actually]
Does he have some sort of sorrid mission, being back on Earth, then?
[audio]
That question earns a laugh from her.] Nothing sordid, really. The Doctor spends his time going to different times and places to try and help however he can.
[Which means that sometimes it gets dangerous, and sometimes terrible things happen. But there's plenty about it that's loads of fun too, for anyone who has a love for adventure.]
[audio]
Well, the time travel business sounds exciting, although I'm not sure I'd fancy going back much farther from where I'm from. Hard enough being a woman now. What'd you do to get to go along with him?
[audio]
She very much agrees with Mandy, though. Going back in time is difficult, and even more so for someone of her race. She's been stuck there a few times, on top of it all.
Everyone always wants to know how she met the Doctor, so it's a good thing Martha doesn't mind telling the story.] Oh, he showed up at the hospital where I was a medical student. It ended up getting abducted to... the moon, so we had to work together to fix that. I suppose he decided he fancied me after that, so he asked me to go traveling with him.
[audio]
[if her device were on video at the moment, Martha could see Mandy's eyebrow twist quite a bit that her story. Really, she's heard more fantastic, but that was from people who were completely blazed and she can tell Martha is definitely not] Well, that's quite a first date if I may say so myself.
[audio]
She feels very much like a different person now, and so she's able to laugh off that comment.] I'm from 2009. [Martha's pleased that her guess for Mandy's time period had been about right.] The people you meet here will be from a whole range of time periods... you get used to it after a time.
