002 | [ video/action (?) ]
[ Robin doesn't use his device too terribly often; not because he doesn't understand how to use it - he's caught on well by now - but he'd still much prefer to speak with someone in person, unless of course they really only need to ask something briefly of each other. It serves a purpose, he won't deny that.
And today, he's decided to step outside of his comfort zone and deviate from how he normally conducts himself, posing a few questions and observations to anyone who might be listening.
He's in the dining room at the moment, giving some thought as to what he wants to eat, and his face is rather perfectly centered as he speaks. ]
Before my arrival here in Wonderland, I had a brief stay in a small village by the name of Storybrooke. Everyone frequented Granny's diner, so I presume the food was extraordinary there, but I regretfully didn't have much time to sample it all.
[ He thinks for a moment, trying to remember some of the menu items: ]
I enjoyed the burger I was able to try, and the grilled cheese.
I was curious about something called buffalo wings. Does anyone know much about the buffalo? It must be rather small, based on its wing structure.
[ He's familiar with chickens, and the meat that comprises burgers, but buffalo is something new to him. ]
I've come to understand there's a particular type of food unique to diners, and while this place isn't a diner in the strictest sense, we can certainly acquire any of the food normally found there. I'm not sure what I should try. Any suggestions?

I've actually never met Pan personally, and I'd quite like to keep it that way, though if he tries to cause any sort of trouble, I wouldn't hesitate to intervene. I do hope you were alright after your encounter with him?
[ It's easy enough to say how he fits in with Emma, Mary Margaret, and Henry. Regina is another matter entirely. ]
Emma and I have become quite good friends, I haven't spoken with Mary Margaret yet since arriving, and Henry's a wonderful lad, reminds me a bit of my own son.
Regina and I are...together. [ He's not sure what Regina would call them, but it seems to work in his mind. ]
Forgive my discourtesy, m'lady, I should have introduced myself at the start. I'm Robin of Locksley.
It's good to hear that he's managed to stay out of Pan's way, which means that the villain isn't all that difficult to avoid. Or maybe he simply doesn't have use for this man, who knows?]
I was fine, yes. He didn't harm me, only asked a lot of questions. I think he was still new to this place at the time.
[There had been suggestions made about tests to run, but Martha had never followed up on them.
Everything he has to say sounds reasonable enough, but when he mentions that he's with Regina (and there's no question of what he means by that), Martha does look surprised for a split second. She recovers quickly, though.]
You have a son of your own? So you must handle Henry well. It's nice to meet you, Robin, I'm Martha -- would that be Robin, as in Robin Hood? [It's the natural assumption.]
As for Pan, Robin's actually more concerned about the Dark One, though with Henry here now, he'll be keeping a close eye on Pan, as he imagines Henry's mothers will be doing.
He's glad she doesn't question anything about Regina; everything is still new between them, and he's not sure how much to say, really. ]
Robin Hood, at your service. [ He smiles, bowing his head slightly. ] I do have my own boy, he's quite a bit younger than Henry, only four years old, in fact. His name is Roland. [ And the moment he mentions his son's name, Robin's eyes completely light up. ] Henry and I have been getting along quite well, I'm hoping his mothers might allow me to teach him how to use a bow and arrow.
Have you ever tried it, yourself?
Now they've got Robin Hood himself to help with that. Martha smiles as he brightens at the mention of his son. She can only assume that Roland isn't here -- she's never seen someone so young in Wonderland. Surely he also prefers it this way, even if he might miss his son.]
Oh, well... I've had someone offer to teach me, and it might do me some good to learn.
[But Martha's put it off for a variety of reasons, even though Buckingham would be all too happy to help her. Killing doesn't agree with her, but she really should learn how to hunt in the event that it becomes necessary here.]
I'd enjoy having someone to teach, actually. If you'd really like to learn, I can set up a target practice for us anytime.
[ And, you know, his arrow never misses its mark, so he'd be a great teacher. ]
As I suspect you know where I come from, might I ask that of you? I've enjoyed hearing about different lands.
In truth, Martha's got some experience firing a gun, but not a whole lot and she's never felt completely comfortable with one. Archery seems less intimidating, and there's also the fact that she had seen visions of her future self where she clearly knew how to use a bow and arrow.
She doesn't necessarily want to follow in those footsteps, but it might be necessary if their food supply ever runs out.]
I would like that, thank you. [Martha smiles, even thought it's still a bit uncertain.]
You mean that you'd like to learn more about Earth? That is, the world that Storybrooke's a part of?
So, he doesn't care to ever learn how to handle one. ]
Just let me know when you're ready, Martha. There's truly no rush at all, but I think it could be rather fun. [ He can see something in her eyes, like she's just not sure about mastering a weapon, so he wants to be sure she doesn't feel pressured at all. ]
Yes. What's it like? I mean, what do you do for fun on...Earth?
Still, the fact remains that sometimes words aren't enough, and they won't be able to reason with a jabberwocky. She needs to be able to protect herself and her friends, and there's also the practical aspect of hunting.]
I'll definitely get in contact with you soon. Where do you think would be the best place to practice?
[His curiosity about Earth is endearing, although that question is rather broad considering how large and varied her home planet is.]
Well, it depends on the person. Some people like to go to pubs or to the club to drink and dance. Some people enjoy the outdoors -- hiking, mountain climbing, that sort of thing. Or you can go to the cinema, or out to a restaurant... there's load of things!
I've found a nice area not far the mansion, it's easy to set up a target against one of the trees, and we could practice there.
[ He can't even begin to comprehend how vast earth is, so he doesn't even realize how difficult that question is for her to answer, but he appreciates her indulging it nonetheless. ]
Hiking and climbing are familiar to me, and I do enjoy going to a pub on occasion. I've never experienced a cinema, though. I've...heard of movies.
[Martha isn't ready to jump into things right this second, but she'll write a reminder for herself and make sure to contact Robin about it in a few days' time. She shouldn't put it off any longer than that.
When Robin admits that he's never watched a film, Martha offers a quick smile.] Heard of them, but never seen one? Well, that's something that would be simple enough to change here. We'd just need to ask the closet for a telly and a DVD player.
[He probably won't know what either of those things are, but this is part of the learning process.]
What if we agree to amend that perhaps? After our first archery lesson, maybe? I'll show you how to properly aim an arrow, and you can introduce me to movies.
[It's always exciting to see someone's first reaction to something like a movie, although Martha has to resist the temptation to show him the Disney version of Robin Hood. On the other hand, maybe he would enjoy that.]
Contact me whenever it's a good day for you, and we'll set it all up, yeah?
[ He really is, and he thinks they'll be great friends. ]
