[The feed is initially dark and grainy, showing not a whole lot of anything, though there is sound. Specifically, the sound of someone taking a few steps, tripping, and falling over with a surprised sound that's not quite dignified.]

Ow...

[As the unfortunate new comer starts to right himself, his hand jostles against the device and closes around it automatically. The camera angle changes as the device is turned over, inspected, and then a very surprised and confused face appears on the feed.

Kaneki is pretty average looking, except for the eye patch. Right now, he's a bit scuffed, dusty, and what little can be seen in the faint light from the screen shows he's in the caves. He fumbles the device for a moment before he manages to hold it steady.]

Er... I think I'm in a hole...somehow. I don't know if there's anyone around or if I have reception at all but if there is someone...

[He offers a smile that's equal parts embarrassed, apologetic, and nervous, rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. Actually, maybe he's more nervous than the other two.]

I could use a hand, if there is.

[Minato could tell how dark it was around the newcomer, so all the more reason to go find him.]

... You're new, I take it.

[Kaneki's pretty surprised someone responded, but he is definitely going to take advantage of it, even if he's got no clue who this guy is. He'll get out of the hole and then he'll worry about whether it's safe or not.]

New? Yeah, I guess so.

[A beat.]

What am I new to, exactly?

This place is called Wonderland.

[Minato was on his way then to find Kaneki now. It can't be all that great staying down in those caves.]

No one arrives or departs here of their own volition.

[Figuring out the device a little more he watches as he winces for the guy.]

I can try to help...if I can find you.

[ Philip almost ignores the feed entirely, because nothing about the near blackness strikes him as worthy of note, until he catches the familiar outline of rocks, until he realises that he's been there, done that, and it was decidedly not the best transmission he's ever had to send. ]

Erm, did you come from the basement or the grounds? Do you know how far you went in?

[Wanting to become familiar with every nook and cranny of the ground, Panne has been out exploring; In her human form now that she feels more comfortable. She likes it better than the insides of the Mansion anyways, and she had yet to claim a room... Maybe she'll dig a hutch into the curves of one of these hills instead.]

[The caves are no problem to her. Her eyes catch the even the smallest sources of light and glow red in the dimness. She was nearly satisfied with her survey, until a very peculiar smell hit her. Words began to echo all around her, and she realizes someone has fallen in.]

[Panne follows her nose to the hole Kaneki has found himself in.]

Do you intend to make home here, man-spawn, or do you need assistance?

[Dry amusement is apparent in her voice.]

Kaneki-kun--

[...Your hair? Why isn't it white?]

Why are you in a hole?

A-Are you okay? It's so dark there, and you're injured. [She gestures on her own facce to where his eyepatch would be if she were wearing it. She's also more than a little flaily, fretting on his behalf.] U-Um. Where are you? Do you know?

[The trouble is, Tohru has never had reason to go exploring the tunnels deep under the mansion, and she's almost never near the basement or the outdoor entrance. It's very likely that she isn't aware they're there at all.]

I appreciate it. I don't have any idea where I am, though, so I'm not sure what directions to give you.

Oh um...can you tilt the thing up? I can maybe find it from that?

I don't think I came in at all. I was just...here.

[Kaneki glances away, then back.]

I don't know how that's possible, but I don't know any other way to explain it.

[Kaneki glances upward, then tilts the camera, panning around himself. His vision is actually a bit better than the camera is in the dark, but the camera shows a dim, grainy feed of the inside of a cave.]

Does that help at all?

[Kaneki jumps and looks up at Panne, dropping the device in the process. He fumbles to pick it back up while he tries to keep his eye on her.]

Uh...no. I mean yes! Yes, I need some help.

[Marco looks closely at the video as it records around his location. Okay...he remembers something like this place while he was wandering the grounds. With a quick nod he speaks.]

Yes, actually. I will be right there!

[He needs to help this man out, clearly. Going to the closest he asks for some rope before he runs off to the location. After getting a little lost he arrives. In the cave he walks carefully.]

Hey! Are you here?

((If not okay let me know!))

Uta-san!

[Oh god, he has probably never been so glad to see another ghoul. And Uta is one of not-a-whole-lot of ghouls who he knows won't try to eat him.]

It wasn't on purpose. The hole just kind of happened.

[Tohru's frenetic energy is easy to catch and Kaneki shakes his head quickly and holds up a hand.]

N-no, I'm okay! I'm not hurt! I'm fine.

[That's actually true--his eye is completely fine. Hopefully, she'll just think he means it's healing or doesn't hurt or something.]

I'm underground, I think, but I don't know how I got here or how to get out. It seems like it might be a bad idea to wander around too much.

Alright. I will transform. Do not be alarmed.

[Panne grips her Beaststone in her pouch, and in a flash of light, assumes her true Taguel form. She leaps down to join him in the hole, and crouches on all fours to make herself small beside him.]

Get on my back. [Her voice in this form is like two echoing at once, emanating from her huge chest.] Grab a hold of my guards, and I will climb us out of here.

[Kaneki takes that in. It's easy enough to make some conclusions from that information, but he state the first to get confirmation.]

I guess no one knows how they got here, either.

[Kaneki's surprised by how positive this guy seems. This series of tunnels and caves seemed bigger than that--then again, maybe that means he was heading toward the entrance in the first place and that it might not be too far away now.]

Y-yeah! I can hear you!

[He straightens up and backs up, trying to peer out of the hole, though there's no chance of that happening.]

[He's not sure what to expect that when she says transform--when ghouls "transform" it's not really a huge difference in appearance, but it is terrifying.

He was not expecting what he gets, but at least she warned him.]

Uh...right. Okay. Sorry about this.

[He gets on her back, a bit hesitant because she was clearly a woman (albeit one with weird ears) just a minute ago, and this just seems wrong somehow. He hangs on like she told him.]

I'm ready.

[He had gotten a little lost himself...so that helped, maybe? When hears the voice he starts to focus on the ground until he finds the hole.

Offering a smile he waves before he knots the rope and tosses one end down.]

Here!

[Panne tends to overlook the small stuff, which can occasionally be large stuff. Unfortunately, it comes with living a mostly solitary existence. But she is not offended by being grabbed at, especially when she commanded him to do so.]

Hold on tightly.

[With several well-placed leaps, she makes it out of the hole. Just in case the man-spawn cannot see in this darkness, she also takes him out of the cave. Then she crouches back down again, to let him off her back.]

There. You have done well; most balk at first sight of my true form.

[Kaneki slides off of her, a little shaken just because wow he just rode some kind of...something out of a cave.]

Thanks, I guess. [He manages not to sit down where he's standing.] Um, for the help, too. I appreciate it.

[Touka or Yomo probably could have gotten out of the hole without any problem, but Kaneki is pretty sure he would have broken his neck trying.]

[Kaneki manages to not get whacked on the head and he takes hold of the rope hanging down in front of him. He's pretty sure he's strong enough to haul himself up a rope, even if he couldn't climb out without it.]

Got it! Hang on.

[He starts out a bit slow until he's figured out how to go about the process, using the side of the hole and the rope both to haul himself upward.]
