[A woman appears on the screen, mid-twenties, roughly 5'6'', a naturally tan-ish skin tone. She's dressed in her SHIELD uniform (since that's what she was last in at home), which may or may not make her stand out more; she doesn't know the rules here. Her accent is American -- mostly midwestern(ish) -- when she speaks: ]

This is either the coolest SHIELD base ... or the worst day ever. Not sure which. [That's muttered more to herself as she glances tentatively around her before fixing her eyes back on the screen.]

Right. Enter one confused Daisy Johnson, hi. [And there's a small wave from her.] If anyone feels like telling me where I am and-slash-or why I'm here, that would be awesome and I would appreciate it. I feel like asking if there's a way back home is going to produce zero results since I came here without knowledge or consent, but bonus points if you have one of those for me too. Or, you know, other tips for a newbie here.

[A pause of a couple of seconds before she adds something on: ] Aaaand if there's any of my SHIELD team here? Check in, please.

[With that, she ends the video.]

[ It's the mention of SHIELD that catches her attention, even though the girl in the video feed isn't familiar to her. Her expression is cautious and mildly curious as she flips open a return feed to reply. ]

You're familiar with SHIELD?

[Wanda doesn't recognize the girl on the other end of the feed or the name she gives, but she certainly recognizes SHIELD. Her expression is carefully blank when she responds, studying her own display with interest.]

You are a member of SHIELD.

[Barely a question, but one all the same.]

Yeah, I've been at SHIELD for a couple of years. Coulson and his team -- [screw you, Grant Ward; everyone else can stay] -- picked me up about a year after the battle of New York. Started out as more of a "consultant"-y type, and then eventually managed to score an official spot on the team.

[Spoilers: Coulson is alive and well.]

Man, you guys are just falling out of the woodwork, aren't you? [Straight face, always.]

Probably a little bit of both? There are enough agents here to call it a base, at this point, but it's like a bad field trip and you can't get off the bus.

Tip: The blue pill won't send you back home, and the red pill just makes everything a little fuzzy. Also, don't drink anything that specifically says "Drink Me" on the label. [NOW there's a smirk on his lips.]

Agent Daisy Johnson, welcome to Wonderland.

[More people she recognizes the faces and names of but who don't know her. At least she knows better than to start off the conversations with that. Actually, she knows a lot more than names and faces; SHIELD eventually found out what Strucker and List were doing and then tipped off the Avengers to their location and many specific crimes as part of Hydra -- human experimentation being among those. She knows she's talking to one of the two survivors of that.]

For a couple of years now. I'm with actual SHIELD. Not the steaming piles of shit that called themselves SHIELD but were Hydra. [As you can see, she has a lot of feeling about Those Guys.] Coulson's my boss. [Does Wanda even know that name?? Daisy sure doesn't know if she does, but she tosses it out there anyway, just in case there is familiarity to connect to.]

Wonderland. [She repeats, thinking for a moment.] That's ... weird but okay I guess I can't really talk considering aliens are a thing in my world. [Says the part alien.]

[Hi, man whose tower she cosplayed outside of once.]

At least it sounds like we're all converging in one spot? [Except Simmons is still MIA back home.] And I think I should just be wary of anything edible from what you're saying. [She's 35% serious, though, and returns a quisk smile.]

I'm giving you a bonus point anyway because you're my favorite Avenger. [A beat. Aw yeah got welcomed to this place by Tony.] Don't tell the others I said that. [Ah yes, just what Tony's ego needs. Technology-related nerds gotta unite, though.]

[ It's almost like Wonderland goes in waves, sometimes bringing in groupings of people from their world and other times sending them home all at once. Steve finds it easier to welcome and orient people than it is to mourn their departure, even if someone going home should in theory be a good thing.

It doesn't feel that way when you're the one left behind.

This SHIELD agent is someone Steve spoke to once before, if only briefly. He'd heard about her from Coulson too, although he'd called her something else. Skye, wasn't it? Except that she's going by Daisy now. Maybe Skye had been a nickname, or maybe Daisy is an alias for the sake of subterfuge. She is a part of SHIELD, after all.

Steve opens up a feed to respond. He's seated at the desk in his room, and while he isn't in uniform, there is an official sort of look to him. Whether that's purposeful or not is hard to say. ]

You're part of Coulson's team, right? He only ever had good things to say about you.

[ Surprise, Captain America is here too. ]

[An Avenger knows who she is -- this is not a drill. So with a perhaps little-too-excited tone, she replies with: ] Yeah, his team!

though mostly internally so she doesn't embarrass herself.]

I only have good things to say about him, too, so... [It goes both ways.]

But, seriously, is everyone from our world here? [It's starting to feel like it.]

( Hook doesn't recognize the girl, or the term SHIELD (beyond the obvious device used in battle), but he has plenty to say on being trapped in Wonderland. so he's a bit of a combo breaker. sorry, not here to talk about SHIELD. sorry!!! )

You're here because apparently, Wonderland has decided it wants you. Nobody seems to know who specifically, why not blame a land itself? ( his tone implies he finds this pretty stupid. )

There's no way out yet, but surely there is one somewhere.

( nobody has managed to convince him to the alternative yet. they'd have better luck convincing him to shave off his whiskers. which is also not going to happen, just for the record. )

That sounds like a reasonable assessment. [Flicker of a smirk. Daisy, you are too precious for words.] Ehh, but you know, there's a dining hall and kitchen for actual, edible food that usually won't pull any funny business.

[The smirk turns into a full blown grin. Yes, stroke his ego. That's the best way to endear him to you. It's a wonder Wonderland can even contain his massive ego...] Favourite? Finally someone recognises awesome when they see it. That makes you my favourite SHIELD agent.

You getting the low-down on Wonderland from anyone or do you want an overview from yours truly? You're also gonna wanna find yourself a room to bunk in. Odds are, you'll be here a while, like the rest of us. We're... working on that problem, but I can't say we're having much success in the area.
