A question for you all, Wonderland.

[It's not really like her to be asking something like this, but something's been on her mind for a few weeks now. And since this is Zelena, it sure took her a while to actually bring it up. Mainly because she can't set all her problems on fire, no matter how much she thinks about it.]

I have to imagine at least some of you are wondering about what happened earlier this months. With the stars and the memories. Not so much about the gardener taking a holiday, I don't particularly care about any of that.

[Okay, she enjoyed speaking with the caterpillar, but she'll never tell anyone that.]

What's more important is whether those so called memories are real or not. I don't suppose anyone's found a way to check, have they? Forgive me if I missed some attempt to comb the mansion for clues, I most likely had something far better to do with my time than join the rest of you.

[That was probably sit in her room and be unhappy and unpleasant. And no, she doesn't realize that she's essentially shooting herself in the foot here by continuing to be that.]

You'd think someone would've found a way to by now. That's all.

[Not that she cares if anyone did or not. Yup, it doesn't really interest her at all. Nope. Lots of not caring going on.

...or at least that's what she tells herself.]

Is there something that suggests they weren't real? [In a place like Wonderland, it makes sense to him that the stars would be made of the memories people left behind.]

Nothing at all. If you're the type to take everything Wonderland throws at you at face value anyway.

Couldn't any clues we find also be fakes then?

They very well could be. But I'd like to think, with all these smart people running around, that they'd be able to tell one way or the other.

[She's being a little sarcastic here, but at the same time, it's a genuine opinion.]

[He nods his understanding.] I don't know if this is enough but one memory showed where Alice's room was.

I'm afraid I don't care about that. I'm far more interested in our memories, than someone like hers.

[Well that was...not the most polite way to handle that.]

It makes it more likely that the memories of ourselves were real. [Wasn't that the original question?]

I wouldn't be so sure about that. After all, she's closer to one of them than one of us, isn't she?

[Look Zelena might know much about other people's stories, but she's pretty sure Alice is part of Alice in Wonderland.]

She isn't originally from Wonderland. [That makes Alice more like everyone else that Wonderland took, even if she is a character in the books, as far as Nageki is concerned.]

[Look, Zelena knows a thing or two about being a book character. Like if she ever meets Frank L. Baum, there are going to be words, but she's still going to act like she's different.]

And yet it's still her story, isn't it?

[..yeah, she doesn't really have an argument here.]

Yes. [It is true after all. He's given his thoughts on the matter. It doesn't matter to him what Zelena does with it.]

Then I'd think that would make her quite different from the rest of us, or do you disagree?

I don't think it does. Wonderland still took her memories.

How unfortunate. But, like I said, I'm more interested in other memories than hers.

I think they're real. But we don't have a way to be sure. Besides maybe asking Alice, but she doesn't seem to want to be found.

[Oh hey, it's her tabletop buddy. She can at least try to be civil here. Or she can try up until it takes too much effort.

Which she's already thinking it is, so however long the attempt lasts is anyone's guess.]

What exactly makes you think they're real?

No real reason to think they're not, mostly. It all fits with what we know about Wonderland. People come here and then leave and forget everything.

So you really think we were all here and then just forgot?

I guess. We know it happens on a smaller scale. People leave and forget all the time.

On such a scale though? I may not be the expert on Wonderland, but it takes quite a bit to make everyone forget like that.

[She's put together a few forgetting potions in her time, okay?]

It does make everyone forget, though. Every time someone leaves. Every time they come back. If there's one thing Wonderland is great at it's making people forget.

I won't argue against that. I know better than that, but....

The idea that everyone was here, and everyone forgot, not a single person remembers at all, doesn't that strike you as strange? After all, not everyone who leaves this place forgets everything when they come back.

Well, we don't know that everyone left at once. A better way to put it is does it strike me as strange that every one of us has been here before and don't remember?

[Dipper frowns.]

I mean, yes. But not stranger than anything else about this place.

It's hard to argue against Wonderland being strange. Still though, I don't like it.

[...look, she'd remember if she forgot. Or something like that. Something that only makes sense to Zelena.]

I mean, I don't think anyone likes it. There's not much to like about Wonderland in general.

Could've fooled me. Seems like some of us are more than happy to spend the rest of their miserable lives in this world.

[That's not even about anyone in particular. It's just Zelena being Zelena, and figuring that if she's unhappy then everyone should be unhappy.]

Some people like their homes even less than Wonderland. [Or don't have homes to go back to.] Doesn't mean they think this place is good.

Also it's impossible to spend the rest of your life here. While you're here you won't age or die permanently.

You know what I meant.

[Or at least she thinks he does. Everyone should know what she means, no exceptions. Unless she doesn't want them to. Then they shouldn't.

...somehow this makes sense to Zelena. Then again so does naming her child Pistachio, so what does that say about her?]
