Hello everyone. I hate to be a bother, but I believe something odd is, once again, happening throughout Wonderland. If you wouldn't mind, could you all come to the clinic so I can examine you? Even if you believe you're not affected, I'd still like to see you and give you a check-up. It would be nice to have some company.

[Well now, that's unusually straightforward of her. Maybe you should head to the clinic. And not question why the door is open only halfway.]

[Since a hammer had worked on one brother, it should be fine for the other brother. She'll wait behind the door...]

[He has absolutely no reason not to trust Mikan, but at the same time, Sans is used to caution. Even around his best friends. One stray monster bullet or flicker of magic or sudden movement could be the end for him.]

[He teleports into a nearby hallway and heads for the nurse's office, emotions flicked on but not quite as intense right now. He's mostly tired. Tired and ready to sleep for a few years.]

[The door is ajar, so Sans just goes on in.]

mikan?

Hello, Sans...

[And then Mikan rushes out, wanting to make sure he can't get away like so many others had. He's short, maybe she can get him in the best spot - she raises her hammer, intending to smash him in the head.]

[Well, this might as well be happening.]

[He doesn't take any time to be startled or betrayed or upset. Even with emotions firing on all cylinders, this isn't about being able to distance oneself and think in the moment. It's automatic. Pure muscle memory. Heh. "Muscle." That would be funny any other time.]

[He dodges, skids to the side, ending up further in the office and with Mikan between him and the door. Not ideal, but that's fine. He backs away, soul hammering in his ribcage--that's Mikan, that's Mikan with a hammer, and she was aiming for his head, and boy, even without his 1 HP problem, that probably would have killed him.]

mikan. you too?

[It's just tired resignation in his voice. Betrayal isn't even surprising anymore. It's just rote. Exhausting.]

[He raises a hand toward her as if to ward her off. He'll grab her soul if he needs to, if that would even work on someone not from his world.]

thought we were friends.

[He was fast?! She hadn't expected that - her element of surprise had worked on so many others. Face turning ugly, she lifted her hammer again, still filled with determination.]

Doctors and patients can always be friends... but you need to listen to your nurse. I need to heal you... let me heal you... Let me heal you! Let me heal you!

[She charges forward, trying to strike him again, close to howling.]

[Holy shit.]

[Time to see if this even works. His left eyesocket flickers slightly and he tries to turn Mikan's soul blue, tries to shove her back against the far wall with his magic.]

[He actually sways slightly. He's been using too much magic lately. It feels like his own soul is breaking, for lots of reasons.]

except that would kill me. can't heal something that's dead.

[If grabbing her soul didn't work, he'll just dodge again.]

come on. stop. i can't...i don't want to deal with this. it's too much.

[Mikan shrieks as she suddenly finds herself against the wall. She drops the hammer in shock, and then tries to get herself free, becoming even more frantic.]

Why are you bullying me?! I just want to heal you! STOP BULLYING ME! I WANT TO HEAL YOU! I WANT TO HEAL YOU! JUST LET ME DO MY JOB!

[It worked. It actually worked. There's a familiar blue glow at Mikan's chest.]

[Relief floods him, so sudden he almost just drops her.]

i'm not bullying you. i just don't want to die right now. i don't need healing.

[Logic doesn't seem to be her friend at the moment. She pushes at the wall, trying to free herself, but it's no use.]

I HAVE TO HEAL YOU! IT'S WHAT I DO! IT'S ALL I CAN DO! LET ME DO MY JOB! LET ME USE MY TALENT! STOP BULLYING ME! STOP BULLYING MEEEEEEEEE!

[He's not getting through to her. He won't get through to her. He doesn't have the energy to keep trying.]

[He lets go, the blue fading.]

i'm sorry. can't let you kill me. papyrus would be sad.

[She'll probably charge at him again any second now. Sans will just teleport when she does. He's done. He's done with all of this.]

[Mikan drops to the floor in a heap. She breathes hard, scrambling to grab her hammer. There's still a chance, she has to try, still has a chance...]

I won't kill you... I'll heal you... I'm a nurse... I'm the best nurse... I'M THE SUPER HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL NURSE!

[Weapon in hand again, she screams at him, indeed planning to charge all over again.]

[He teleports before she can reach him and is gone.]
