[This isn’t the first time Freya is woken up to find her world changed, but she had thought she had put this part of her life behind her. She’s also super annoyed because she’s supposed to be saving her dumb family right now, but apparently she can’t ever have what she wants. Story of Freya’s life.

This is not where she’s supposed to be but she’s too paranoid to place that on the network right away. She buys her time, explores, gets to know things, and after finding her way to a bar for a big girl drink, while she’s sitting there, swirling the straw in her hand, she opens the device and decides to test the waters. She speaks calmly and clearly, but doesn’t show her face quite yet.]

So. Instead of demanding information I'm sure you've all shared a thousand times before, I’d prefer to keep things interesting. If you all don’t mind indulging the curiosity of someone who so rarely finds themselves in a place that is quite so … eclectic, I think I’d like to know more about where you all are from.

Granted, there are many variables that make up different worlds, so let’s not let ourselves get carried away. Beginning with one topic would probably suffice, so I’ve chosen the one that I know best.

[You can almost hear the smirk as she speaks.]

[The reason she chooses the bar, rather than the safety of her assigned room to make that particular announcement is that she does need someone to explain this world to her and as far as she can tell, there is only one person she knows and trusts here. She would rather hear it straight from Cami, getting potentially conflicting information from strangers.

(She's aware that she's fortunate Cami was there at all - she might have had no choice but to rely on the kindness of strangers - but for how she's choosing not to think about being trapped, alone, in a world she doesn't understand. It's bad enough that her siblings aren't here and she seems to be trapped here indefinitely.)

So there she is, perched on a bar stool like she belongs there, and waiting for Cami to make her appearance. That being said, she's not completely unfriendly, so if you wish to chat her up, she'll be more than happy to talk to you.]

You'll find Wonderland doesn't play by whatever rules you subscribe to. It's unfortunate, really. It'd be a much more level playing field if it did. But don't worry about that for now. What rules and restrictions do you have? There aren't many in my world, and well, even then, there certainly are ways around them.

The limits in mind depend on the kind of magic you practice and how far you're willing to go for power. Most of it involves channeling energy from one source, such as nature or a fellow witch, and converting it into something else. The limits there mostly depend on the power of the thing you're channeling and how much power you yourself can handle.

Some witches are willing to go farther to strengthen their own power, but there are still limits. A balance, if you will.

Rather different than what I'm used to. In my world, it's more about your own ability than anything else. You can certainly learn as much as you'd like, but having the power to pull it off, well, that's an entirely different story.

[She's slightly smug about that, but why shouldn't she be? After all, she's the only person in her world who can pull off a time travel spell, so she has every right to be proud of it.]

There are ways around that, of course, but well, they're not for everyone.

I see. So you are limited by your ambition, rather than inherent skill.

[How very interesting.]

I'd say it depends on the person, more than anything else. And if you have both, well then, you'll find there's very little you can't do.

[Still completely proud of herself for being completely wicked.]

[There's a small, thoughtful noise because that certainly reminds her of her Aunt Dahlia. But she's got ambition all her own, so she's certainly not one to judge.]

It sounds like a very ... accessible form of magic, if nothing else.

Depends on the person really. For some it's easy enough to access, for others well, it takes a bit more.

[Don't worry though, she'll provide an example rather than just being vague about these.]

Why, I know someone who couldn't consciously use it until she was thrown off a bridge, so really, that just proves my point.

[She smirks.]

It usually comes to you when you're ready for it, I've found.

It didn't for me.

[That was more thinking out loud than anything else, but it's out there now, so the most she can do is try and deflect. Or hope that this person cares as little about her backstory as Zelena does for hers, which isn't much.]

So, is there anything else you want to know about it?

Can it be combined with other forms of magic? The way you describe it makes it seem fairly self-contained, but were we to combine our efforts, is that something we can draw on from each other?

That depends entirely on what forms you mean. Curses and potions, things like that can be mixed, but if you're talking light and dark magic, it's usually one or the other.

We have variations on light and dark magic, but it isn't necessarily so cut and dry. There are many shades of gray.

It's usually the people that aren't cut and dry. Magic's apparently rather set in its ways back home.

How interesting. It almost as though the magic has a mind of it's own.
