[This isn’t the first time Freya is woken up to find her world changed, but she had thought she had put this part of her life behind her. She’s also super annoyed because she’s supposed to be saving her dumb family right now, but apparently she can’t ever have what she wants. Story of Freya’s life.

This is not where she’s supposed to be but she’s too paranoid to place that on the network right away. She buys her time, explores, gets to know things, and after finding her way to a bar for a big girl drink, while she’s sitting there, swirling the straw in her hand, she opens the device and decides to test the waters. She speaks calmly and clearly, but doesn’t show her face quite yet.]

So. Instead of demanding information I'm sure you've all shared a thousand times before, I’d prefer to keep things interesting. If you all don’t mind indulging the curiosity of someone who so rarely finds themselves in a place that is quite so … eclectic, I think I’d like to know more about where you all are from.

Granted, there are many variables that make up different worlds, so let’s not let ourselves get carried away. Beginning with one topic would probably suffice, so I’ve chosen the one that I know best.

[You can almost hear the smirk as she speaks.]

[The reason she chooses the bar, rather than the safety of her assigned room to make that particular announcement is that she does need someone to explain this world to her and as far as she can tell, there is only one person she knows and trusts here. She would rather hear it straight from Cami, getting potentially conflicting information from strangers.

(She's aware that she's fortunate Cami was there at all - she might have had no choice but to rely on the kindness of strangers - but for how she's choosing not to think about being trapped, alone, in a world she doesn't understand. It's bad enough that her siblings aren't here and she seems to be trapped here indefinitely.)

So there she is, perched on a bar stool like she belongs there, and waiting for Cami to make her appearance. That being said, she's not completely unfriendly, so if you wish to chat her up, she'll be more than happy to talk to you.]

Exactly. [ she swallows a little. ] I don't think we have the luxury of waiting.

[ at the same time, whether elena likes it or not, they may not have a choice. she's just stubborn. ]

[She nods because that she can agree on.]

I suppose we'll have to see what happens.

[ elena breathes in deep, and holds in the fear. ] We will.

And until then - I suppose we'll have to see what this world has to offer.

[Whether that's good or bad, she doesn't particularly indicate either way.]

Wonderland itself is small. There's the mansion and the forest, and a few things in between. The mansion itself has a lot of floors, with rooms that include things like a movie theater and a coffee shop.

[ she understands the need to keep one's self busy. ]

[She perks up at the latter mentions.]

I do love movies. Though I am ... incredibly behind on watching them.

[ elena tips her head to the side. she's recently met people from different time periods. it's made her more curious, and more sensitive, to the gaps freya seemingly speaks of. ]

How far behind?

[She hums softly.]

When I went to sleep last, films were mostly silent and were not nearly as ... elaborate as they are now.

[ pardon elena's skepticism, freya. she is now equal parts intrigued and confused. ]

You went to sleep ... decades ago?

I was part of a very complicated spell. A witch I was bound to was searching for immortality, and she created a spell where we would sleep for a century and then awaken to live a single year of life. I've been repeating this cycle for as long as I can remember.

[ elena is retroactively grateful the transmission is voice alone. she wouldn't be able to hide the reaction from her expression. ] Wow, I'm sorry, that—that must've been hard. I had no idea there sleeping spells.

[ she will eventually. :') ]

Oh, there are spells for everything. I don't think forcing us to sleep for so long was my aunt's intent, but for her, the ends always justified the means.

Sounds familiar. [ her tone is dry, and she's thinking of freya's brother, not that she has any way of connecting the dots just yet. ] Do... you think a spell exists that would send us back? [ even if they don't know what it is yet. even if they'll have to start from scratch. ]

[She pauses for a moment, before she finds the right response.]

I think it will take a little time, and a lot of power, but anything is possible.
