Post 1: Video

[A young girl's face appears on the video feed, looking ever so slightly confused and concerned. Appearing on a public network in front of everyone is also giving her just a bit of stage fright, but they're not actually there in front of her, so it's not that bad. Besides, she has some questions that need answering.]

Hey, so... I can't help but notice that the mansion I've been staying in is gone? And also that... so are a lot of other people, it seems like. Unless there's another party somewhere I don't know about.

I was going to see if anyone had said anything about it, when I noticed I can make posts here all of a sudden, so I figured I'd ask... um...

Am I going to be living here now? Should I find a room? Is there anyone I need to talk to, or can I just... take one?

Yep, It's pretty amazing- Just make sure to cover up your mirrors with sheets or other furniture or something!

You can find almost anything you need in your closet, too.

Yeah... that stuff was in the pamphlets, and I kind of ran into someone's mirror, too. I'm definitely going to be leaving them covered up.

Those should be fun to mess around with... I'm really curious what I can and can't get out of them! I'm probably going to mess with one of them for a while.

You definitely should.

Once there was a writer on the mirrorside... he was sort of handsome for a boy actually, and he wore a swooshy cape. He said I'd make a good protagonist- You know, like a main character in a book? That he was watching me, for inspiration.

And at first I thought it was a little weird, but a nice compliment, you know, to get from an older boy?

But then he wrote a story about all this bad stuff that was happening to me, put it up on all the mirrors! It was really, really creepy! I didn't think he was so dashing anymore.

He's gone now, I think. I hope. Real-Fakir left, and he hasn't come back, I checked around at the parties.

Ugh... that sounds so creepy! That's just... really messed up. I really hope you don't ever have to deal with a guy like that again.

Are ALL the mirrors like that? I only met one, and he tried to kill me.

At first I liked feeling special, but then it felt really scary, almost like he'd planned for bad things to happen to me, just to make a good story.

Most of them aren't very nice, unless their real-person's not very nice to begin with. Then the Mirror might be better, but they still all serve the Queen of Hearts. And she hates us, or at least she seems like she's angry most of the time, whenever she bothers with us?

[Connie kind of gets that feeling- it's one she dealt with a lot before she started to really get involved with Steven's adventures. It still kind of gnaws at her, sometimes.]

My mirror is probably going to be awful, then. I think. I... do get one now that I'm staying here, right?

I'm really not looking forward to that.

Probably. At least most of the time they do stay over on their side. If you ever get stuck there, behind the mirrors, try to find the rabbit hole. That'll take you back.

Sounds like some good advice! I'll be sure to keep that in mind, not that I ever plan on going over there.

You'd think they'd just tear themselves apart, if they're like... all evil and murder-y and junk. Human civilization is barely holding itself together as it is.

Oh no, because they all belong to the queen, you see, and so if they tried killing each other then the Queen of Hearts would just go "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" and nobody wants to risk that.

Huh. I guess that makes sense, then.

...The Queen of Hearts must be really powerful, though, if she's keeping versions of all the people here in check like that.

She's pretty scary! I wouldn't want her angry at me!

But... I guess every wonderful place has got good things and bad things. There are lots of nice things on this side of the mansion, like the library, and the magical dining room, and lots of other neat spots like the attic to explore. You'll have fun here.
