Post 1: Video

[A young girl's face appears on the video feed, looking ever so slightly confused and concerned. Appearing on a public network in front of everyone is also giving her just a bit of stage fright, but they're not actually there in front of her, so it's not that bad. Besides, she has some questions that need answering.]

Hey, so... I can't help but notice that the mansion I've been staying in is gone? And also that... so are a lot of other people, it seems like. Unless there's another party somewhere I don't know about.

I was going to see if anyone had said anything about it, when I noticed I can make posts here all of a sudden, so I figured I'd ask... um...

Am I going to be living here now? Should I find a room? Is there anyone I need to talk to, or can I just... take one?

[Oh thank goodness. She sighs, relieved before she smiles kindly.]

I'm on the third floor with Amethyst and ...Rose.

Rooms 13 and 14 respectively, while I'm in 15.

Rose... Quartz??? Jeez, I guess this place really does pull people from different times.

I'll be sure to pick out a room near there, then!

I ah... yes it does.

[She taps her chin.]

What is the last thing you remember before you came here, Connie?

Umm... well, I was on my way to another session of training- probably some more fusion training, since last time got kind of interrupted when Stevonnie, you know... fell off the arena.

You... do remember that, right? Amethyst doesn't. Apparently she's from some time earlier.

[beyourrock]

[Her face falls a fraction. Again, something else she doesn't remember.]

I don't remember that at all.

Looks like I come from an even earlier timeline than you, Amethyst, and even Peridot. Last thing I remember? We were trying to capture Peridot.

...Oh. Oh, yeah. I forgot, Amethyst already told me about that. It was over a week ago now, so... sorry.

I... guess I'm the furthest ahead in time back home, then! Except maybe for Peridot, but I haven't talked to her yet. Although I guess that's true back home too, so it's not very surprising.

[And she's the furthest behind. Pearl's gaze drops.]

Is there... anything I should know Connie? About what happens? [She hopes it's... nothing bad.]

Umm... I mean, probably a lot of stuff?

[Though, probably off the top of her head, is stuff that relates to the training that Pearl's been giving her.]

I went on my first mission fairly recently, in my time! It went... um... alright. I kinda... froze up, when I was face to face with a monster- I mean, a corrupted gem, but... you told me my job was to call you, not to handle it myself, and I did. And I made up for it anyway when Jasper showed up! Me and Steven fused, and Stevonnie fought her off all on their own!

[She listens carefully to her words.]

You... took on Jasper yourselves?! Were you hurt? Was Steven alright? Was-- Was Stevonnie alright?

[Because that's more important than the fact that Stevonnie fought off Jasper.]

If Jasper is by herself, then Lapis...

No, it went great! Stevonnie didn't get hurt at all!

[The only one that did get hurt is Amethyst, but... maybe she shouldn't mention that. Still, there is a slight dip in her cheerfulness about how well things went, as her mind drifts to that subject.]

Lapis is fine, I think? She's apparently living at the barn with Peridot, now.

[Oh her head is swirling. So Japser and Lapis unfused somehow. And now Lapis, who tried to destroy the world at some point to get home, is now living at the barn. With Peridot.

She swallows thickly.]

I think I need to sit down.

Yeah, I... guess it's a lot to take in all at once.

Sorry.

[Come to think of it, maybe Connie shouldn't have mentioned any of it.]

N-No it's alright. I...

[She shakes her head and tries to offer a smile in return.]

This just means I have to see how much you've learned in sword fighting thus far. And see if you're ready for advanced techniques.

Yes ma'am!

[Connie quickly snaps to attention at that, starting to smile again.]

Not to boast or anything, but... I really do feel like I've improved a lot since I started!
