[He turned the device over in his hand for a third time and sighed. If this was the only way he can contact someone for help, he may as well learn to use it.]

[He'd hear the intake of air as if she's immediately going to respond but no reply comes. Rose instead stopping to find a way to word this, so it doesn't make her sound crazy.]

If it were unpleasant all the time, then people would see this place for exactly what it is. A kidnapping. They'd fight like hell to get everyone out of here. The perks just make people soft and mean those of us trying to get a one way ticket home, have to fight it on two fronts.
