Well... regret... it helps you to learn. If you regret something, you think about what went wrong, maybe what you did wrong. And you learn from it.

Not... really. I mean, like I said, it teaches you things, and it makes sure you don't forget them, don't want to repeat them.

No. At home we're going through plenty of punishment already.

But people do bad stuff. If they feel bad about doing bad stuff, they're generally less likely to do it in future.

Sounds about accurate. Sometimes that's a good thing. Sometimes it's really not. Depends on the circumstances.
