5th Social Link ▫ Video + Action

[Winter was now over and spring had just started. Minato kind of missed the snow, but at least the weather was cool and comfortable instead of being too cold. For a change of pace as he wandered outside, now that the space event was over, he decided to head to the Checkerboard Hills. He hadn't been there often. It was time to check it out again.

That is, if checking it out meant doing a once-over on the checkered patterns from dark to light, then ending up laying in one of the darker square patches, his comm device off to the side as he looked up at the sky.

It's spring here and spring at home. School would be starting again, if he were there and time progressed.

Were these questions even fair? Did he have too much time on his hands, playing around with or thinking about 'what if' in a place that may make him forget his existence here at all?]

..... Would you rather be dead at home or alive here?

Same here! I had no idea my friends were telling people about me. Or if I did, I forgot. That tends to happen.

[But she's used to it, so it's not a big deal at the moment.]

They mentioned you carried around a notebook. Did you need another one in case that one gets full?

I think that's usually what I do. I start a new one when I run out of room, but I don't remember.

I could get you a couple of them, then mark the last page in the book that you need to switch books.

[Just a big smile from her. The idea hasn't occurred to her before. Or if it did, she must've forgotten it. Just like she forgot all the extra notebooks in her room already.

Not in a weird way, but I think if I could figure out what's wrong with people, I wouldn't be in the situation I'm in, and I could also help Matsuda-kun with his work. Not that I mind being his patient.

[She just laughs at that, a little embarrassed.]

But he's helped me a lot, so I'd like to help him too.

You're his patient?

[What did that mean? He did want to ask too about what she thought was wrong with people, but he could ask that after. He didn't want to overwhelm her since she had some trouble remembering things.]

[She nods.]

Yup. And I thought that maybe if I got better, I could use my talent to help diagnose other people so I could still spend time with him.

[It's a dumb reason, she knows that, but it's still important to her.]

Is he trying to find a way to have you remember things?

[If she were his patient, she had to be afflicted with something. Was it her amnesia or this issue she had with memory?]

Matsuda-kun is the Super High School Neurologist. He's trying to cure my amnesia.

[He supposed that there had to be a Super High School everything.]

At home, do you remember if he made a lot of progress?

[There really is.]

I don't, but that means he hasn't. I know he's trying his best though.

[Convenient, and then not so convenient when the others are out to kill you.]

He hasn't been here before, right?

I don't think so. No one I've met here has mentioned him.

[She just sighs.]

I wish he was here. He'd be able to help me, and...I'd like for him to meet my friends. Since none of them have met him, not even back home.

They haven't? But aren't you at the school with him?

[If he understood how her high school worked.]

They're in different classes. I'm in a different class too...I think.

[Ryoko actually has no idea what year she's in.]

So they haven't met him. They haven't met me back home either. It's weird. Right now, I'm trying to get my condition fixed so I can go back to class, but by their time, I might have graduated or been expelled already.

[It's a mess.]

[It was hard to tell. She looked like she could've been around their age, but he could be wrong. She might not even know how old she was either.]

Maybe you're from a different Hope's Peak Academy than they are?

[Like an alternate universe?]

Maybe! I was thinking they're from a class that was accepted later on, but that could be it too.

[It'd explain all the...murder and bears and stuff like that.]

I hope that things work out at home for you.

[It didn't seem to be too much of a big deal? Right now? Most everyone was worried about losing memories except for her since, well, she was losing them left and right.]
