5th Social Link ▫ Video + Action

[Winter was now over and spring had just started. Minato kind of missed the snow, but at least the weather was cool and comfortable instead of being too cold. For a change of pace as he wandered outside, now that the space event was over, he decided to head to the Checkerboard Hills. He hadn't been there often. It was time to check it out again.

That is, if checking it out meant doing a once-over on the checkered patterns from dark to light, then ending up laying in one of the darker square patches, his comm device off to the side as he looked up at the sky.

It's spring here and spring at home. School would be starting again, if he were there and time progressed.

Were these questions even fair? Did he have too much time on his hands, playing around with or thinking about 'what if' in a place that may make him forget his existence here at all?]

Would you want them ever after you saved me?

[It's a what if again, another hypothetical, but he did want to hear how Souji felt about it.]

If I had them or not, I'd be happy.

[He'd have Minato.]

[That sentiment is sweet. Minato worried a little less then, but still worried since there was the potential that Souji could lose such an important part of himself and for what?]

That's what I'd want you to be.

I think...they've served their purpose. Even if I'd be losing a part of myself, I still have the rest of me.

[Minato nudged a bit against Souji.]

I'll be here to help complete you, like you have and will for me.

[That was exactly what Souji had meant.]

I'm so lucky to have you.

[Minato could think about his future, actually imagine it like it could come true.]

It's the same for me.

I'm not sure cute is a word I'd use for myself.

Yes. [No hesitation.]

[At that, Minato smiled more.]

Perfect. That's what I'd use for you then.

[Souji rubbed the back of his neck and shook his head.]

This is a battle I don't think I can win.

[Minato smiled again and leaned closer to Souji.]

I had my phasers set to Flirt, not Stun, you know.

[But that was fine. He could see how much Souji could take. Minato supposed Souji had an image to uphold and thus didn't want to be so off-kilter by what comments Minato made.]

I think in my case, you could use either with the same effect.

[Souji's a pretty good flirt himself, when he wants to be, but he's not used to being on the receiving end (Rise doesn't count).]

[Minato thought then he'd just leave his phasers on their normal setting.]

Did you want me to though?

Yeah. [He smiled.] I want your attention on me.

[If Minato could beam, he probably would have right now with the smile he had on his face.]

All of it.

[Minato didn't know who else he'd want to pay attention to. It was like he didn't know how. And if Souji wanted it, Minato would give it to him.]

You have mine, too.

You're sweet.

[Souji always was. Minato leaned his head more on Souji's shoulder.]

I want a hug.

[Souji complied, getting his arms around Minato.]

[Minato whispered a very soft "yay" and gave Souji a hug back too. He hugged Souji a little tighter this time, remembering that Souji was the one who held his future in his hands. So if he hugged Souji tight, then he could hang on tight to that future too.]

[After a moment, Souji released Minato and shifted into a crouch, his back was to Minato.]

Get on my back. We'll go back inside.

[Minato couldn't help the light blush that appeared on his face and his smiled softened even more. He nodded, then climbed on Souji's back.]
