I do hate to interrupt, [ comes the voice behind the network's latest entry. his voice is weighted down heavily by a distinct brand of southern drawl — georgia flavor, to those able to recognize it ] but seein' as I won't be goin' anywhere any time soon, I do believe proper introductions are in order. The name's Henry, and I hail from a small town called Purgatory. It was 2017, last I checked, but I don't suppose dates mean much in a "wondrous" place such as this.

[ yeah, the alice in wonderland references are completely lost on a man who missed out on not only the book's publishing, but all the disney adaptations that followed it. ]

You wouldn't happen to know if things you were... say, tethered to in your previous, less than wonderful life are still that way in this one, would you? I'm also interested in hearing what one does in Wonderland, other than wait for one of these so-called "events" to crop up, of course. A man of my specific skillset could get awful bored mighty fast without something worthwhile to entertain him.

[Daisy's immediately put off when he mentions having a specific skill set. That he could easily become bored if there isn't something to keep him entertained. Yeah, whatever his skill set was it probably wasn't baking or gardening.]

The events here are usually heralded by a post from a character from the Carroll novels about two or three days in advance. I'd like to say they were a warning, but the characters are so cryptic it's nearly impossible to guess what we're dealing with until it's too late.

Is that tied to how fast you get bored, because I'm not sure there's a big market for a dentist here. [Bucky doesn't think that's what the guy meant but if he isn't up for sharing what the 'other things' might be, he can't really help with suggestions to keep himself from becoming bored.] Might be though.

Partially, but seein' as I was also in cohorts with the US Marshals, it's a bit more than just a distinct lack of patients to see.

I'm from a town called Sanctuary, so I'm liking the juxtaposition.

[It's only now that she realises the name sounds like something out of a western itself.]

I work out a lot - running along the beach or by the lake, mostly. I practise my shooting, and I've started cooking quite a bit too.

Purgatory and Sanctuary. I'm sure they'd make quite the pair.

I am aware, however the change of scenery and lack of proper jurisdiction does not mean I will so readily reveal that which I am expected to remain silent on.

I'd suggest you go to the library and look for a book called "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." It doesn't have all the answers, but it helps.

What sort of tethering would you mean? Like, could you give an example?

Being connected to someone.

Oh. And I'm guessing that's in a... metaphysical sense.

I don't know about being connected to someone that way, but I know of someone connected to a something like that.
