I do hate to interrupt, [ comes the voice behind the network's latest entry. his voice is weighted down heavily by a distinct brand of southern drawl — georgia flavor, to those able to recognize it ] but seein' as I won't be goin' anywhere any time soon, I do believe proper introductions are in order. The name's Henry, and I hail from a small town called Purgatory. It was 2017, last I checked, but I don't suppose dates mean much in a "wondrous" place such as this.

[ yeah, the alice in wonderland references are completely lost on a man who missed out on not only the book's publishing, but all the disney adaptations that followed it. ]

You wouldn't happen to know if things you were... say, tethered to in your previous, less than wonderful life are still that way in this one, would you? I'm also interested in hearing what one does in Wonderland, other than wait for one of these so-called "events" to crop up, of course. A man of my specific skillset could get awful bored mighty fast without something worthwhile to entertain him.

What I see is, lot'a the stuff that happens here comes right outta our own heads. Depends what y' mean by 'tethered', though. I got a whole bunch of things I ain't keen on seein' follow me to here.

[ finally, someone who actually sounds somewhat familiar. half the revenants he knew back in their outlaw days lost their various drawls to the changing times. ]

Unwanted, but sadly necessary acquaintances. [ the witch whose lifeline his is directly tied to, namely. ] The 23rd Century. My, my. That's quite the ways off from where I'm from, Mister Palmer.

Purgatory, that's quite the name. [She can't hide the amused tone in her voice.] Between events we mostly have to occupy ourselves. There's pretty much anything you could think of to distract yourself with.

I'm sure whoever gave it its illustrious title was quite pleased with himself.

[ the town is aptly named, though. both a haven and prison for the dead and otherwise supernaturally inclined. ]

And out of all these things, which do you prefer to occupy your time with?

[Daisy's immediately put off when he mentions having a specific skill set. That he could easily become bored if there isn't something to keep him entertained. Yeah, whatever his skill set was it probably wasn't baking or gardening.]

What is your skill set, exactly?

Dentistry. And an assortment of other things.

The events here are usually heralded by a post from a character from the Carroll novels about two or three days in advance. I'd like to say they were a warning, but the characters are so cryptic it's nearly impossible to guess what we're dealing with until it's too late.

( it takes damon a few days to get back into reading the network, catching up on the posts he missed out on when he threw his network device against a wall and didn't pick it up again while elena was away. while he worried, while he paced. he's at the bar in the morning, preparing it for the day. technically, it's not even open yet, but he likes to clean it himself because he's secretly a neat freak. )

I visit the library, the beach, the various bars, there are things to do here regardless of whatever your mysterious skill set might be.

[ can you even be an alcoholic when you can't die of alcohol poisoning? ]

Hard to imagine there's a beach here, what with the whole inescapable premise it preaches.

Seems like people y'know do tend to come through once in a while.

I already have someone I know here with me.

[ and he's okay if she leaves before him. that would be ideal, wynonna getting to go home. what's not acceptable is him leaving first. the last thing she needs to be abandoned. again. ]

So like do we totally assume that you hinted at specific skillsets so we ask? Because I'll ask, though if it's having that cool ass drawl, you're doing well.

Seriously though, I've started helping at the teen center, because otherwise I'm going to get sooooo bored waiting for this place to try and hurt me again.

I'm a dentist by trade, though I have been involved in other activities which I am not at liberty to discuss involving the US Marshals.

From what I understand, any connections we have to our own worlds are suspended upon our arrival to Wonderland. Being here involves a kind of stasis - we are as we were when we left, and we remain as such until we leave.

[Freya can still feel the linking spell that exists between herself and her two siblings, and while not all of them are here in Wonderland, the spell doesn't feel impacted or changed.]
