[Dipper's sitting in his room, holding a red-wrapped piece of paper and looking very seriously at the camera.]

So, I just received a very interesting package–Mabel and I both did–I mean, we each received a different package, and… [He holds his up, then holds the note up to the camera.

It reads: In the search for something lost, do what you know you must. -RQ]

So clearly they're important, and I thought it'd be best if we open them nice and slowly and everyone can have a chance to see and weigh in, cause this is definitely a puzzle, and–

[–and Mabel shoves her way into frame violently, pushing Dipper aside and slamming a jar in front of the camera. The jar contains (1) blue eye that darts around in confusion at being jostled so savagely!! For a hot moment, Mabel does not care about that. She’s too busy looking a bit frantic.]

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. This is the moment I’ve been training for since I first met Alice. [She balls a tiny hand into a fist.] I have one of her eyes, man. But that’s one more eye than I had before!

[She’s… definitely going at this with all the passion of a drill sergeant.] So my question is… Who’s got the other one? [SUSPICIOUS SQUINT. YOU BETTER NOT BE HIDING IT FROM HER. SHE WILL FIND YOU.

Dipper looks annoyed at the intrusion until he sees just what it is she has, at which point he looks shocked and amazed, one hand going to his head.]

Mabel, that's amazing! Oh my gosh, we have to find the other eyeball and figure out where the heck she hangs out when she's not announcing events… I'm going to get a clipboard!

[Whoops dashing offscreen now. There's a thump. Followed by an "I'm okay!" then another thump.

Mabel watches all of this with increasingly more pained flinches at Dipper tripping over everything, all while hugging the jar close to her chest.] Um… We’ll be right back, guys.

[She flicks the camera off.]

Not that Dipper wouldn't have noticed them first, but she has reason to be nervous.]

I, um... haven't really had time to look at it much. [He squints at it.] There are lizard footprints. Maybe Bill. The lizard Bill! Not the triangle.

[He has no idea what they're talking about. He has not had the pleasure of meeting Bill Cipher.]

Um..if it's the lizard and it's a contract, than maybe it means he'll do something for you if you ask.

Thaaat's a story for another day.

[Because if Bill's not a current threat, then she's not worried about it right now. And also lizard Bill!] Ohmigosh. Dipper. [she shakes her brother's arm.] Maybe he knows where Alice is! ...Or we can find out where he lives. I'm good with either of those things.

Maybe he'd build something for me? Like, he made that huge lake. Maybe he could build me some kind of awesome underground lair or put my face on a mountain or something.

There are caves aren't there? Why don't you just use that as an underground lair? And there aren't any mountains anyway.

[Satoru is not getting behind your ideas, Dipper. He is too cynical a person.]

He could make a mountain and then put Dipper's face on it. [DUH.] Also Dipper already pretty much lives in the caves, but people keep coming down there and messing with his stuff.

[By people, she means Peridot.]

Okay, maybe I could get him to build a mountain and put my face on it. Or put my face on the Checkerboard Hills. I don't know. [He rolls his eyes.] I'm more interested in getting answers anyway.

Have him build a billboard with answers on it. [Seems like a legit idea to Satoru.]

Pfft. Knowing Wonderland's natives, it'd probably be in some weird made-up language.

Plus, I'd rather just ask him. Then I get to pick the questions.

...Could you call him to like...discuss the terms of the contract? Then you'd be able to ask him.

Yeah! Or just nitpick the details like you always do, bro-bro. [she pokes him in the ribs, giggling.] He seems like he's easily offended.

Believe me, nitpicking details in contracts is better than the alternative.

[His tone's a little dark but well, he's made deals with things named Bill before.]

That's true. [Satoru knows that, as an adult, even if he's never signed a contract more complicated than a lease.]

[He looks over at Mabel, though, considering his only conversation with Bill.] Offended? You mean Bill? ...I can see that.

He's a super British lizard who builds things. I figure all those things combined make him really uptight.

[She says it lightly, but she is glancing over at Dipper because of his tone. They do have some bad luck with people named Bill.]
