This makes what Ms. Shepard was telling us all the more dreadful. In her conversation with the Queen of Hearts (In which she was able to use half of a compact to interrogate her personally) she was able to discover that every time you die, a bit of your soul gets eaten by the core and it gets harder for it to pull away.

And now you tell us we must die or all of Wonderland will implode?

( clementine does a good job of staying out of wonderland's mysteries. she's always figured it means she has a better chance of surviving if she goes unnoticed by those in power. she always thought it was the right thing to do like staying alive has always been the right fucking thing to do. so when she sees this- when she sees this it's hard to explain the effect how it wraps right down into her core and shakes her out of herself to the extent, she turns on the video, and for once, her emotions are pretty clear on her face.

she wants to stay here. she wants wonderland to be her home. it was supposed to be. she was starting to think of it that way because it's so much better than where she's from, but if this is true and the only way Wonderland survives is people dying- her dying-

she chooses anger, because it's better than the upset- the fear, the pain, creeping up in her chest. why is death so fucking much a part of every world she lives in? why isn't there any escape from this bullshit? she wants to scream. she wants to cry. she does neither of those things. )

( she could live with losing memories. fine. there was plenty she wanted to forget, and maybe she'd be happier, blissful little kid without knowing the world she's from. she gets most people don't feel the same about that, but this?

this is the final straw. this is it. she doesn't know how to feel anymore. they die, they lose their souls according to that other post (whatever souls are), until they become one of the queen's. )

- memories are still fuel for the core but death is more gas for the tank
- we're pulled here by wonderland's equivalent of gravity, and our worlds pull us back the same way. idk what that even means, but.
- the people who give us warnings and stuff really think we're meant to stay here forever, like, this is our forever home.
- leaving here is an accident when we do.
- Tweedledee may or may not want to explore life without her sister always by her side, idk to be determined.
