ask me anything, text - ota (backdated to yesterday)
Tweedledee just appeared in my room out of thin air, and we had a good chat while she ate some cookies. ama.
and just in case you don't feel like it, the gist was if people don't die Wonderland will implode. Memories are good, death is better - more fuel for the Core. So.
it was casual girl talk tuesday.

I probably should have figured. I haven't been here that long, but the revolving door policy for death has bugged me since day one.

we're not actually supposed to ever leave.

Fuel?
Nobody told me this place ran on sacrifices.
Well I mean, I guess you just did but
Still
fucking
i'm so out
Let's go. Fuck all of this.

also according to her the only reason we'll ever leave is because the gravity of our own planets pulls us back in. like...wonderland swings too close and earth pulls us back. or whatever planet you're from.
that's why we appear and disappear all the time.

...Can we be at all certain she's telling the truth? That's a damned tall claim.
[ oh, hello. ]
text »
all of wonderland and everything about it is a tall claim to everyone who shows up, and idk about you but everything i was told then has turned out to be true.
she had no reason to lie. she doesn't get anything out of it long term.

What?
This makes what Ms. Shepard was telling us all the more dreadful. In her conversation with the Queen of Hearts (In which she was able to use half of a compact to interrogate her personally) she was able to discover that every time you die, a bit of your soul gets eaten by the core and it gets harder for it to pull away.
And now you tell us we must die or all of Wonderland will implode?
[text]
sounds like, buddy. i mean i don't think we all have to die at once or something, but death is definitely required.

Re: [text]
video.
she wants to stay here. she wants wonderland to be her home. it was supposed to be. she was starting to think of it that way because it's so much better than where she's from, but if this is true and the only way Wonderland survives is people dying- her dying-
she chooses anger, because it's better than the upset- the fear, the pain, creeping up in her chest. why is death so fucking much a part of every world she lives in? why isn't there any escape from this bullshit? she wants to scream. she wants to cry. she does neither of those things. )
What the fuck? People have to die or this place is destroyed?
( she could live with losing memories. fine. there was plenty she wanted to forget, and maybe she'd be happier, blissful little kid without knowing the world she's from. she gets most people don't feel the same about that, but this?
this is the final straw. this is it. she doesn't know how to feel anymore. they die, they lose their souls according to that other post (whatever souls are), until they become one of the queen's. )
video.
[ Sarah knew this news would stress people the hell out, but it also didn't seem like something she should keep to herself.
Still.
Sorry, kid :( ]

Goodie. Fucked if we die, fucked if we don't. Don't suppose she had any good news to offer, did she?

oh, there are worlds far enough away apparently where wonderland can't snatch you. no clue where that would be.

...have I been here too long or does that just sorta make sense? I mean I’ve died twice- it’s terrible. But we fuel this place, that isn’t surprising.
Did she tell you anything else?
[ Just more information to add to an ever growing puzzle. ]
Text
she did say that the people who are here are pulled in because our home worlds got close enough for wonderland to...
idk, suck is in?
low key imagining the queen holding out a giant vacuum cleaner to pull us out of our homes, but you get me.

Please tell me the actual word wasn't implode.
Also, I want to know everything that was said.
[She's so tired. She's just. God, she's tired.]
[text]
okay bullet points because at this point i'm exhausted but:
- memories are still fuel for the core but death is more gas for the tank
- we're pulled here by wonderland's equivalent of gravity, and our worlds pull us back the same way. idk what that even means, but.
- the people who give us warnings and stuff really think we're meant to stay here forever, like, this is our forever home.
- leaving here is an accident when we do.
- Tweedledee may or may not want to explore life without her sister always by her side, idk to be determined.

Why was she willing to tell you this all of a sudden?
[ It sounds feasible enough, of course. The mansion certainly goes out of its way to kill them. But he wants to know why the information is so freely offered now. ]

but actually, I had something of hers she wanted back. My gift from RQ.
and i gave her cookies.

[ She's been having pretty much the same conversations, and it looks like they're all on the same page about this. ]
Still, for right now, nothing changes. We're still ultimately trying to find a way out of this place when we can. I think.
