[The first thing anyone sees, even before the person posting...is a little pig, in one of the tea rooms. It snuffles and sniffles and sweeps the room for signs of danger, and once it is satisfied it trots away.

Then in a blink, Alice is standing in the middle of the room, pig cradled in her arms. And for the first time ever on the network, her face has wide blue eyes. She's a bit frantic, but otherwise unharmed.]

I think I'm starting to get used to doing that on purpose... Ah, hello everyone! It's...been some time, hasn't it?

[Even Alice can't seem to hide the fact that it's rather awkward to suddenly have eyes when she did not before. The pig squirms and she lets it down, as she's discovered it's wisest to listen to what the Duchess' pig wants.]

I'm so sorry to interrupt everything, but I need to warn you all! Something-- something terrible is going to happen soon! I don't want to cause anyone alarm, but it may very well be the worst thing that's ever happened to you.

[It's all distressing, and Alice crouches down to the pig's level so she can play with it's ears absently as she talks. It lets her.]

I'm afraid I still can't explain how I know, and the details are...rather distressing. But I promise, I'd never lie to all of you! I could never!

[She's adamant about that much at least. Even if her message isn't clear, there's more clarity in the way she speaks about it - she understands the importance of these messages now, in a way she'd forgotten for so long.]

Please, everyone. Take care of yourselves this weekend. I think it may be all you can do.

...No. I don't think it can.

[It's an alarming consideration. She wasn't prepared for anyone to have the Jabberwock as their worst thing ever - and she would not be at all surprised if this really was his worst moment.]

But, it's not-- it doesn't mean it will be coming back. At least, I don't think so.

[Probably not? It's so uncertain though - the Jabberwock travels in dreams, so could it manifest this way? She really hopes not.]

Please listen to me very carefully, Angus. While this event is happening, do not stay in your room. Find a tea room or go camping or declare the kitchen table your new bed if you want to! Just...keep away from your room, if you've met the Jabberwock. Lock it behind you if you can. You'll be safe that way, I promise.

[Alice huffs.]

It isn't my fault if you can't think of what the worst thing that's ever happened to you is!

If it makes you feel any better, I hadn't realized either before I lost them.

[She was innocent, once.]

I am! Though I'm afraid I don't have many more details. This is as straight-forward as I can be, I think. But I also think you can avoid it, with warning!

[ Holy crap, Liz was right ー there are certain exceptions, and he'd never thought of that kind of possibility before. That's just plain wicked. It surprises him that she went through a Rabbit Hole like in the storybook, though. Didn't they cross over through the mirror?

...No, wait a minute. Come to think of it, he'd never heard of the method to cross over before.

Not that he thinks it's the right time to ask, it doesn't seem like she enjoys entertaining his questions, anyway. After all, she doesn't even know him. He'd be worried and paranoid if he were her. ]

...My name's Mondo Oowada. [ He isn't sure what difference it'll make introducing himself, but hopefully it'll give her a tiny bit ease of mind knowing with whom she's conversing with. ] Are you safe now?

[Regis doesn't sound annoyed with her as he begins. If anything, he's looking at her with no small measure of curiosity.]

You seem to know more than you're telling us. Anything that you know might save lives, no matter how distressing it is to hear.

I did! I've told you the most useful thing you could possibly hear about this event, and you won't listen! It-- it's the worst thing that's ever happened to you.

[She has no idea how that isn't clear. How should she know what the worst thing that's ever happened to him is?! She wipes her eyes though, and sniffles.]

It can be avoided though. I'm telling everyone because if they know it will happen, then they can...they can keep away from it.

Thank you! I really appreciate it. But...I believe that's the most I can tell you. It's rather difficult to get more specific than that.

[She really does feel like she's been as specific as she could be.]

It's quite alright. It might be rather frustrating, but...I did just go and worry everyone. I can forgive them for being worried and snippy.

[She's done her share of that when events have been announced, but that feels so long ago now.]

Thank you though. I...I'll be alright, I think. There's more beyond this for me to be concerned about, especially if I remain still too long, but I'll be okay through the event at the least.

She promised the Duke would keep me safe, and so far he's done an excellent job of it!

[Alice scritches the piglet's ears to calm him down a bit - it's okay! They're friends!]

I...I'm still not sure how to best answer that myself. It's all rather complicated and I haven't been able to make much sense of it.

[She gracefully flops to sit on the floor, and scoops up the Duchess' piglet into her arms. She is distressed, and distress is always good cause to sit on floors.]

When I lost my eyes...I hadn't noticed, but something happened to me. I became more connected to Wonderland somehow, and I didn't think anything of it at the time because I thought I'd always been that way. I could sense things that were coming, and I could make myself appear and disappear whenever I felt like it. Or, whenever it felt right, I suppose. There were plenty of times I wanted to but the moment simply wasn't right. It's difficult to explain.

[So difficult that sitting down just isn't enough and she flops onto her back, letting the Duke rest on her stomach.]

I don't want to be one of them, but I'm not sure I can be anything else anymore. Which is a shame, since I've finally started feeling like myself again, except now I've got this odd piece that doesn't quite fit into the Alice puzzle...

Oh! Goodness, that's a name I haven't heard in a very long time...

[That alone is a rare phenomenon for Alice, who has been here more than one hundred and fifty years.]

I never met her, unfortunately. Everyone who had when I arrived spoke so fondly of her, though I always thought it was a shame I'd never had the chance...

I won't! Never! Her name is Dinah and she's a grey tabby cat with black stripes and she's lovely. I-I can't-- I don't remember who, but someone gave me her on my tenth birthday. She's about two years old now and at home she went everywhere with me. I don't know what those places are now but we were always together and when I arrived in Wonderland I cried for three weeks because she hadn't come with me!

[It's so long ago now, but she does exactly what Tim has asked of her. She does her best to hold on and on to every little thing she can, every tiny detail about Dinah that exists in her mind will be told to anyone who will listen to her for more than two seconds.]

I. I never want to forget her again. I still can't believe I did...

I suppose so...and there is always a bit of time before events, and little we can do to prepare beyond knowing it's coming....

[She speaks with the kind of vicious intent that aches at his chest, a hard stab of recognition of the desperation there. She never wants to forget again. He can practically see her hurting with the urge to hold that memory fast and firm to herself.]

[He shouldn't make promises. Not ones he can't keep. Not when he's a liar, even on a good day.]

[But he won't let her forget either.]

It's okay. [The words are soft - almost gentle.] We're not gonna let you forget again.

Okay?

[Then he gives a quick bow.]

Camping? Now that sounds like a splendid idea! If it can keep us safe, then all the better! I cannot thank you enough for that advice, Alice-kun! I am sure that it will help us a lot!

[She falters. With her regained memory comes the regained notion that not everyone has their best interests at heart, even among fellow captives.]

...There always is, but I think it will be worth the risk. They'll be in the same position as you after all, with the worst thing for them as well. There have always been more good people in Wonderland than bad. Always. I know that doesn't make up for the bad ones, but...I really do think this is the best thing you can do, at least for this event.

[That makes her smile more genuine.]

Certainly! I've been here a long time now, and it's unlikely I'll be going anywhere any time soon.

[It's been difficult to give specifics, but constant threat of death sounds like it would absolutely qualify.]

She's not going to be happy my eyes were given back to me. The event is nothing, but I've got to keep away from her as long as possible.
