[The entrance hall to the mansion is certainly glorious, but what it isn't is the throne room of Canterlot- which is where Sunburst absolutely just was. As such, there's a cloaked, bespectacled little unicorn wandering around, looking about himself in confusion. He's pretty tired, he's just been on an epic adventure- this is probably some strange hallucination brought on by too much magic-strain or something. That makes sense. That makes absolute sense.

And then he finds his device- which is absolutely alien to him. What in the hay IS it??? The device is suddenly surrounded in a sparkly, yellow glow- an action which turns it on- as Sunburst levitates it closer to his face, squinting at it. He talks to the screen, though he doesn't realise it- he's largely speaking out loud, trying to understand what's going on.]

I've never seen an artefact like this before. I'm not convinced I could dream this up along with...whatever this place is. Perhaps there was a magical feedback loop from the portal? Though it would have to be on a delay for it to start happening now. Hnnh, I hope the effects don't last long, I have a lot of new research to compile. I guess I need to wait for it to wear off. Talk about inconvenient. I wonder if any of the others are suffering side effects?

[ with a final nod, oliver cuts the feed. he arms himself with every weapon he can perfectly conceal on his person before heading out to the entrance. fortunately, he was in his own room, and not his new hideout, so the walk isn't too long.

and there it is. an actual unicorn. unbelievable. ]

Hi - [ he gives a little wave. he doesn't see any strings, and the motion doesn't look mechanical, then again even in his own world tech has come a long way. ]

[He is indeed, an actual unicorn. Only about the size of a large dog, but an actual unicorn all the same. He smiles, waving a forehoof at Oliver in greeting, tilting his head up to see him. ]

Gosh! You humans are very tall.

[ a smile on a unicorn. it sounds like it should be sweet, but it just creeps him out. ]

Have you ever met one before? [ is this as weird for him as it is for oliver? (he doubts it). ]

No, never. I know there is another dimension connected to mine, where humans reside, but I've never seen it. You're my first one, face to face.

[Congrats, Oliver- you are the human by which he will judge all over humans. What an honour. Don't fuck it up. ]

You're my first unicorn, too. [ and that is just. such a weird thing to say. his smile is awkward, and that's cuz what he wants to do is grit his teeth, show him how to contact him if he gets any useful intel, and get the hell out of this acid trip. ]

Guess we're making some sorta history. My name's Oliver Queen. [ he says it cuz he'll need to know it to look him up. ]

[Sunburst is a pretty terrible first unicorn experience, too, so they're just about even there. He deigns not to point out that unicorns in his world generally aren'tunkempt shut-in nerds.

That's...a weird name. Humans have weird names. Still, he doesn't catch the awkward smile, never the best when it comes to picking up social cues.]

Nice to meet you. I'm Sunburst.

Nice to meet you too. [ his mother taught him his manners, and education that deep rooted apply to unicorns as well. ]

Shall we? [ he nods towards the door; given the unicorn's stature, explanations will be easier to manage if oliver is seated. he means to sit in the garden - going to a tea room with a horned pony feels like taking this a little far. ]

[Manners go a long way, Oliver. Sunburst smiles, nodding. ]

Please, lead the way. [He'll be sad he missed out on tea. Wow. ]

[ silly unicorn, tea is for humans. he leads the way, and settles on a bench, pulling out his phone. ]

Here okay? [ he sits on the end of the bench, so that - sunburst - could have a good look at the screen. ]

Right. So the little window holds...everything you need?

For communication, at least. This - [ he clicks ] is the contact list. You can look people up there. You have three communication options - video, audio, and text - you know what that means? [ why would he know what that means?

why would he be a talking unicorn. ]

[Oliver, darling, you really need to get over the talking unicorn thing. The talking unicorn in question squints a little.]

Well, I understand text and audio as words, I am assuming that means you can simply speak into the advice or...write on it? It doesn't seem to have a quill...does it function like paper? Somehow?

I'm assuming video is what I accidentally set off when I picked it up. Seeing moving pictures of everypony?

it's a weird thing to find weird considering the circumstances, but if he's going to play the part of normal human being oliver queen, that means he gets to question stuff normal human beings would find question-worthy. ]

Video means there's an image, like what you did. Audio means voice only and text - [ he demonstrates ] works like this. We call this 'typing'.

Well, we unicorns simply use telekinesis. Other ponies races just use their hooves though.

[Look, Oliver, he could reel off the actual names of every spell known to his species. Vague bullshit doth not flyeth with this unicorn. He nods. ]

I think so. Is there some sort of archive? A way to look on past conversations? Learning about this place from residents past would probably be a very fruitful course of action.
