[The entrance hall to the mansion is certainly glorious, but what it isn't is the throne room of Canterlot- which is where Sunburst absolutely just was. As such, there's a cloaked, bespectacled little unicorn wandering around, looking about himself in confusion. He's pretty tired, he's just been on an epic adventure- this is probably some strange hallucination brought on by too much magic-strain or something. That makes sense. That makes absolute sense.

And then he finds his device- which is absolutely alien to him. What in the hay IS it??? The device is suddenly surrounded in a sparkly, yellow glow- an action which turns it on- as Sunburst levitates it closer to his face, squinting at it. He talks to the screen, though he doesn't realise it- he's largely speaking out loud, trying to understand what's going on.]

I've never seen an artefact like this before. I'm not convinced I could dream this up along with...whatever this place is. Perhaps there was a magical feedback loop from the portal? Though it would have to be on a delay for it to start happening now. Hnnh, I hope the effects don't last long, I have a lot of new research to compile. I guess I need to wait for it to wear off. Talk about inconvenient. I wonder if any of the others are suffering side effects?

He drops the device with a yelp, letting it clatter to the floor, before carefully levitating it again, squinting under it like someone would a newspaper with which they'd just crushed an errant spider.]

[What IS it? It's all gangly and bipedal and- wait, wait wait. He's read about these. In the other dimension. He never went there- but boy did he READ about it. Whatever he WAS researching is pushed to the side, because this- this is fascinating. ]

Oh wow! Are you a human? Am I in the mirror world? [Wow there's an unfortunate shared name there.] I was under the impression we were turned into humans, too, when we passed through, but I am absolutely still a pony.

[He peers at a leg just to...check. Yup. Still hooves. ]

[That is pure evil, and of course, Sunburst is going to react to the shouting without a FACE on the screen. He almost DROPS the device, fumbling with it - his magical aura flickering from it for a second, before he catches it again and lowers it a little more carefully to the ground. ]

Oh...um. Sorry. I've...never seen anything like you before. Are you some sort of magical communication device? Do you have a name?

[The talking dove is absolutely a new thing - anything birdlike that speaks in Equestria certainly don't look like that. He has a question about the talking bird thing on the tip of his tongue, but there are BOOKS there- which absolutely catches his eye. ]

I...guess? It would depend on what kind of magical experiments you'd want to do with it. Or more to the point what it would do to me. I'm all for testing the boundaries of magical theory and all, but there are limits.

[ so far, oliver has stayed off the network. but he has to make an appearance at some point and - if that's not an opening then he's never seen one.

because that sure is...it's a unicorn, isn't it? and it wears glasses (sure the dressing of pets craze has gotten a little out of hand but glasses he hasn't seen yet). weirder yet - it talks. it doesn't just talk - it speaks brainiac.

so far, oliver has been open and accepting to everything he's come across; the talking skeleton eating fries? sure, why not. gingerbread mansion? he could do without the smell, but clearly real. flying 10 year old who can carry him as if he isn't 6' 1" and pure muscle? he's seen weirder.

but this is pushing it. giving a normal reaction to this doesn't even take effort. ]

Clarification - when you say 'wait for it to wear off' do you mean the unicorn thing? [ he mentioned a portal, what, it's a valid question. you go through a portal you expect to be somewhere else.

and there is a genuine concern in his mind that wonderland can transform more than its locations. ]
