Since the White Queen reappeared, I've been going back through the network for information. I want to consolidate what we know about the Queens.

This post only covers the past year, since I arrived. I plan to keep looking back further.

Let me know if you remember anything that I haven't included.

Red Queen:
- Can survive being stuck in the Core [Attached footage from Jay's camera, Network link]

- Can transport people from the Mirror side to the Real side [Attached footage from Jay's camera]
- Can lend a bracelet that offers some sort of "magical" protection [Network link]
- Does not need the Queen of Hearts' permission to invite the Mirrors to the Real side [Network link]
- Repeatedly invites Mirrors over to the Real side. Claims to just be doing it to be nice. [Network link]
- CLAIMS that the Mirrors would exist without the Queen of Hearts [Network link] and that they are part of Wonderland [Network link]
- Can NOT free herself from inside the Core [Network link]
- Can (and did) distribute items from inside the Core [Network link, Network link]
- Oldest sister (middle sister: Queen of Hearts, youngest sister: White Queen) [Network link, Network link, Network link]

Queen of Hearts:
- Red Queen claims she has card motif because she is the middle child and because chess has only 2 sides [Network link]

still wish we had some kind of navigation system that wasn't just "scroll until you give up"

or at least a place where people can link to important stuff

or that summary thing the pines kids drew

it's not always nothing though

[Sometimes, it's a span of time shot through with gaps and a tape he's seen labeled in his own handwriting not to watch.]

[Sometimes it's words scrawled on a mirror that he can't quite recreate.]

["Your funeral," he almost writes - but the bile is sour on his tongue and he'd almost forgotten. He'd almost allowed himself to forget. It's a joke that proves without a shadow of a doubt that he really is the most sickening fucking kind of person there is.]

[An idle thought crosses his mind, and it hits him with a jolt: He doesn't have the slightest idea what the answer would be. He's never asked. He's never dragged his miserable carcass out of his room long enough to find out. Never caught his interest, 'cause apparently going through hours of security footage of himself twitching and yanking at the covers mid-REM is more interesting.]

[What does he have to do? What possible means of passing his time could he claim? What is there to do aside from the hollow creep of utter grayness, the slog of nothingness that comprised his days before ending up here?]

[Jay's first instinct is to say you have to do something, but he can't bring himself to type it out. He had a reason to go missing this time, but he can't say the same for every time he's gone dark. The carnival hit, and there were lights and crowds and noise and fun, apparently. He stayed sprawled across his bed, glazed eyes tracing patterns across the popcorn ceiling, and listened to the indistinct sounds outside, muffled by his window.]

[It's almost a luxury, being able to do nothing.]

[Doesn't feel like it, though.]

[He's not sure what he's trying to say. Nine times out of ten, he's either scrolling through footage or he's doing...that. It's not sleeping, it's just zoning out. He wonders if that's what 'recovery' looks like.]

[This is just the reminder of days Tim no longer wholly remembers; empty days, with gray continuous nothingness slogging wearily by. The ragged anonymity of the days pre-Jay and then, later, post-Jay.]

[Maybe it's wrong to miss the chaotic discord of days on the road, pursuing leads and shaking the man with the gun at their tail. But at least it was something he knew how to feel about.]

[It's not much of a comeback. If anything, it just makes him look worse.]

[So, Tim's not a fan of the...nothing days. Makes sense. It feels like something at the time, feels like it's what you're supposed to do, but if you get stuck in it too long, you wind up...well, stuck in a crappy apartment by yourself doing nothing. Not sure whether or not it's a bad thing.]

[At least Tim had a job.]

[Hell, maybe it's just him. Maybe Tim doesn't switch off the way Jay does. Maybe he doesn't sink into the mattress, ratty hotel comforter wadded up and hanging off the corner of the bed because the little AC unit doesn't do shit against June in Alabama.]

[Ignore the undertones, as always. Shunt them roughly aside. Move on. Move on. Move on. That's all he's ever done, what he's best at; shrugging off the bullets, the scabs, the aches, the bleeding.]
