[ Chloe is sitting at her desk with the camera propped up in front of her, and she looks wholly uncomfortable, which is par for the course whenever she addresses the network. She takes a deep breath, speaking with an even tone, clearly having rehearsed what she's about to say quite a few times. ]

Hi, everyone. If you don't know me, my name is Chloe Decker. I've been in Wonderland for almost two years, and before I came here I was a homicide detective with the Los Angeles Police Department. For the last few months I've been running the Deux Lux bar and nightclub, so if you don't know me personally, maybe you've seen me there. That's, uh, not really the point of this, though.

[ She clears her throat and pushes her hair over her shoulder, trying to get back on track. ]

I'm not closing down Lux or anything, but I've come to terms pretty recently with the fact that I'm always going to be a cop. About a year or so ago someone put together a guard to help protect people who had died multiple times in Wonderland. That person has since gone home but I always thought it was a good idea, and even though our relationship with the Mirrorside has seemed to change a little since last year, I think the concept is still applicable. So what I'd like to do is talk about reforming something similar, a group of people who have experience that might be able to offer resources or even protection for those who need it, especially during the more chaotic events.

And even outside of them, when necessary. Some of you are probably aware of an incident that occurred last year involving one of our own being murdered, and I don't think I'm the only one who felt helpless to do anything during that situation. I don't plan on laying down any law here... For the most part, I've learned we take care of each other as best we can. But I do think there is a basic code that needs to be upheld and that is one of decency towards each other, and for me, that means letting the people I care about know that they have somewhere to turn when they need help. I think this idea could help with that, whether it be organizing rescues or safe areas during events, or developing some kind of due process when someone is doing active harm to our community.

[ The part of the script she's more or less memorized is over at that point, so she presses her lips together and nods at the camera. ]

I'm open to suggestions, and volunteers.

So what happened... before wasn't even an isolated incident. People have been committing murders outside of events here and no one has done anything about it.

[ She huffs, obviously mad, but not at him. Not at anyone, really. Just at the situation in general. ]

Murder has become so normalized here that I don't think anyone knows how to handle it anymore.

Honestly? I thought it was a done deal since that whole thing that was going on before. The guard or whatever it was. They knew about it. Least Evelyn said they did.

Honestly, I figured no one could ever know the truth. We can't mistrust everyone and we can't go around assuming everyone is safe. I mean, I'm a criminal, but I don't deserve to be locked up here. How could we know what's real, what's not?

We only have one another's word.

I can't argue that. Most just accept they're going to die, and it's no big deal. Though... It felt like that has slowed down to you?

Well, you haven't murdered anyone since you got here, so I wouldn't really count you as a threat to the population.

[ She rolls her eyes dramatically. ]

I don't know if it has, but that's kind of the point of this. I'd like as few people to die as possible.

In fairness, up until the culebra deal? I hadn't murdered a lot of anyone.

[Which includes the marshalls, so very technically not lying since that was part of the culebra deal thing.]

I'm not talking just killed by random sicko who, best anyone can tell me, still an issue around here maybe? But the random things killing people in events. When I first got here, seemed people died a lot more often.

[ She really doesn't want to hear about anyone he's killed back home. She's done a well enough job up until now just ignoring it. ]

Maybe people have just become better at surviving events. It doesn't mean they can't use a little help.

[He pauses, considering that and then giving a nod.]

Might be that too. A lot of those here have been here for a while. We might just be less throw ourselves off cliffs in these things. I know I'm not like that when I used to be.

Well, you know I didn't exactly take precautions, either.

[ Her blase behavior during events after she died had turned into a point of contention between her and Lucifer, but at least that had also pulled her out of it. ]

I think the longer we're here, the better we get at it. Not dying.

[His expression darkens, knowing that Chloe would do the right thing no matter what the consequences were. They just both knew well the consequences, and how bad it could get from there.

And he never wanted that to be a thing again in their lives.]

Good. I'm glad for that. I never want you reliving that. And if you think setting up cops here will help, I'm all for helping you.

Especially because that amuses me.

You? Helping a cop?

[ Her mouth twitches into a faint smile. ]

Wonderland really is a magical place.

It's terrifying, and I refuse to wear a polyester uniform. Gilded badges though can be discussed.

[And then because he can't help himself, and it's Chloe.]

Though if this is you trying to get me into cuffs, you have to ask Maggie first.

No one is getting badges or uniforms. Some people are having a hard enough time swallowing this as it is.

[ She knows how hard to push it, and there are some things she is definitely going to avoid. ]

I've had plenty of opportunities to put cuffs on you before, so there's no point in starting now.

[ Let's be real, she's definitely put cuffs on him before. ]

Yes, but that was before. Before is not now. Now means asking. Not not doing it.

[He grins though, amusing himself.]

Why? It's not like most of them don't have special abilities to do whatever they want, anyway. And if someone with that kind of ability had killed Claire, I would think they would have been better at it without half the place looking into it.

I can't stop people from doing what they're going to do. But I can't just stand by and not do something about it, either.

[ She's already tried that, and it left her feeling like she turned her back on everything she believed it. She won't do it again. ]

I'm not saying you should. I'm saying there is something here to be done, because people... and I mean some people here and not all... don't care what they do. And I'm not talking bears in the basement and the kids running around.

What happened with Claire has me a lot more armed and lot more worried about this place and just what's going on around the corner. So I think it's a good thing you're doing this.

Really? [ She's genuinely surprised. Sure, Seth is one of her best friends and they have a complicated history, but Chloe still didn't see him ever supporting an initiative involving cops. ] If nothing else, I appreciate the vote of confidence.

Yeah really. I mean, let's be honest, the only time I've broken the law here was in that space station way back when. I'm not afraid of the cops looking into me. Well, you cop looking into me.

[Definitely teasing then, but serious about the crimes nonetheless.]

We've looked at each other plenty enough that it shouldn't be an issue.

[ At least she doesn't have to worry about saying weird things like that now that Lucifer's gone. ]

Also, I wouldn't mind your help, if you wanted to. Or if you just wanted to hang around.
