So multiple people have been finding riddles in those weird boxes, right?

[ Someone apparently has never seen an advent calendar before in their lives.. That's what happens when you're raised so sheltered, apparently. That's besides the point though - Ange's idly playing with a piece of paper of paper in her hands, presumably the paper the riddle she's talking about was written on. ]

I thought maybe there'd be some sort of clue or secret message, but it seems like they're really just standard riddles. I mean, tell me if you've heard this one before.

"A murderer was condemned to death. He has to choose from one of three rooms: 1) A room full of raging fires, 2) A room full of assassins with loaded guns, 3) A room with lions that hadn’t eaten in years. Which room is safest?"

Isn't that one super old? They could've at least picked a more interesting one.

I'll let you know if I find one in mine. It does seem like some of us are finding the same sort of things, just in a different order. [ Dipper was ranting about the riddle he found just the other day, after all. ]

I guess it only had so much energy to put things together.

[Which...might be a bad thing, the more he thinks about it.]

If you put it like that, then you make it sound like it's going to halfass every weird thing that happens here from this point on. Maybe we'll have another zombie infestation, except this time they're all lacking legs and just crawling around.

[ Such a fun mental image... ]

...Depending on the type of zombie, they could probably still move pretty fast even without legs.

[Which is an even more fun mental image.]

That aside, I really do wonder how much Wonderland is even capable of anymore.

[ .. fast crawling zombies. That sounds even worse. No, thanks, that's not the kind of horror film she'd like to live out. ]

At least it doesn't seem like it's totally running on fumes just yet. Doesn't it seem like there's stuff changing all over lately?

Yeah. It's always a little like that at this time of year, though, I think.

Oh, do you think it's leading up to some kind of big Christmas surprise?

It might be. The advent calendars kind of make me think so, since it's a count down to the final day.

[entreats]

.. well, whatever it is, we'll probably end up getting through it fine in the end.

[ Even though that 'fine' does tend to involve pain and death.. but, you know. Ange has never made a big fuss about either of those concepts. ]

We made it through every Christmas before, after all.

That's true.

[Even if sometimes Christmas involved the Jabberwocky. At least that's not going to be a thing anymore.]

I guess we've just got to wait it out and see how it goes.

[Not necessarily his favorite approach, but it's the one that happens most often in Wonderland.]

Yeah. Not like there's any other choice. [ If there's anything she's learned about Wonderland, it's that whatever is going to come at any given time, will come no matter what. ]
