[ It’s noon, and Entranceway’s newest arrival is curious as fuck. She’ll be wandering about the gardens, snooping around the mansion, peeking in through windows, staring at the blue skies that make up the entrance hall’s ceiling, sniffing the food in the kitchen, and everything in between.

There are mysteries here, and Naoto Shirogane, ace detective, is on the case. If that means interrogating the shit out of anyone who crosses her path, so be it.

Eventually, she’ll find the communications system and, after spending a while figuring it out (it's not hard to find previous posts and others' conversations), she’ll send out a brief, private message: ]

No one who I've run into. But events can cause people to do things they wouldn't normally.

Events? I've heard them mentioned, but I've received no in depth details. [ She fiddles with the wings of the paper crane. If there's anything that Naoto hates more than having a lack of information, it's having to go to others for that information. ]

[Souji puts a hand on one hip, shifting into his normal standing around posture.]

They're based on our memories. Once, we had to camp in the woods, like we had for the school camping trip in Inaba in the spring.

Oh. [ 2 + 2 = ] And I'm assuming there are many here who have unpleasant or dangerous memories.

Sometimes it's just the environment that changes, but there are times when we change too. Sometimes for the worst.

[ "We change too," ugh. That's incredibly ominous. She won't bother to ask whether or not there's a way to stop events or change them. She can figure that much out on her own. ]

Is there a way to predict them?

There are warnings when one comes. But I've never been able to decipher them.

[Though he honestly hasn't given it a lot of effort.]

I'll work on that, then. [ If there are warnings for events, maybe she'll find a trend? Who knows. ]

[Oh good. A Naoto without an investigation is like a Souji without random shit to do.]

Would you mind if I asked for a tour of this place? I've investigated some, but this place is impressive. I feel like there are a million nooks and crannies that I'll never discover, no matter how hard I search.

[Souji shakes his head and glances around the area.]

This floor has the kitchen, library, and music room.

I've seen the music room and the kitchen, but where is the library? Is the collection worthwhile? [ ARE THERE DETECTIVE STORIES???? she has a need, souji seta. she has a craving that can never be satisfied. ]

[Souji thought she'd like that one. He nods and starts to head toward the library's entrance.]

It seems like it has just about anything you might want. Sometimes it's three stories high.

Oh. [ Alright, not even trying to hide her delight now. ]

Um, how's the... fict-- [ wait no asking about the fiction section, specifically the detective fiction section is far too embarrassing. She abruptly changes what she was going to say in the most obvious manner possible. ]

Nonfiction, I meant to say. How's the nonfiction section? Specifically the historical nonfiction section.

It's got a lot of good reference materials.

[Since the library isn't far from the entrance hall where they had been, they reach it about now and Souji gets the door for Naoto.]

The fiction section is pretty huge too. I got lost once.

[ Naoto stares blankly at him for a moment before realizing that he's actually holding the door for her.

She tips the brim of her hat down to cover up that moment of dumbs. ]

[ But then she's in the library, and...

Oh wow. Oh wow. ]

I... The tour's over. [ She can't help but wander over to the nearest shelf, running her fingers over each book. Looks like the philosophy section. She recognizes some of the names, but not all. ]

I think I'm going to be here a lot. [ I HAVE FOUND THE HOLY GRAIL. ]

Do you want me to go? [His tone is teasing, but he would never come between a Naoto and her books.]

[ THE HOLY GRAIL IS MINE. TAKE THAT, JAMES BOND. ]

It's just... Yasogami's library, nor Inaba's, was anything like this. I don't think I've ever encountered a library of this size. [ SIIIIGH. ]

Me neither. Sometimes there are entrances on the second and third floor, too, but they come and go.
