[The Doctor's room looks like a total junk heap.
He'd managed to find a fairly good sized room on the top floor of this place, and in less than a week he had turned it into a dump. There were metal bits and bobs everywhere. Wires thin and thick connected to several different power sources. There were things that might look familiar to some and other things that looked, and were, out of this world or any world one might be familiar with.
He fiddles with the cellphone like thing for a moment and then it seems to spring to life. This is his first time using it, though he had played with it a little since being here. Hopefully it's working. It's probably the only thing in his room he hasn't completely dismantled.]
Hello there! This might sound a bit strange but, I come to you with a quick question so I do hope this works.
I seemed to have broken my closet. Or perhaps I just overworked it. [It's more likely the latter given the huge amount of stuff he's pulled from his own already. They're put here to appease them but apparently the Doctor is too hard to please.]
Might I borrow someone elses for a bit? I promise I'll stay out of the way. I only need a few more things, hopefully.

[He turns his nose up at the very thought. He watches as she pops out of the closet wondering what in the world she was doing in there in the first place. Maybe she hangs out there?
No matter her free time is just that, hers, and if she wants to be in a closet then who is he to judge?]
Metal and wire and bits of things.
[That's as specifically specific as he's going to get it seems!]

[She repeats, giving him a long stare. She rises up on her tiptoes, gets right in his face and then stares for a bit longer before reaching up to poke him on the tip of the nose.]
I'll carry all the metal and wire and bits of things you need, Doctor. Don't you worry your pretty little head about a thing. Whatever you're working on will be done in no time!
[She's smiling again, and leans back away from him to head over to the closet. Before he arrived, she quickly organized and cleaned up the small area, making sure all her dresses were shoved up front and the box containing all her random knick knacks she's acquired since arriving is in the back.]
Just cleaned it up some, figured you'd need the room. [She explains, lingering near the doorway so he can go right on inside and start collecting the parts he needs.]
no subject
Bits of things!
[He states once more before blinking at the nose poke. Clara he has no idea what to do with you, honestly.]
Well I only need a few more things. I shouldn't even be too long really.
no subject
What, you're just going to get what you need and then leave? I don't think so.
[She's bored and restless and needs something to do, and she's going to carry the parts and help him build things, and it's going to be fantastic. Or else.]
no subject
[He says this very matter-of-fact as he heads into her closet. Since he knows how it works he goes right to town. Pulling out several different things and handing them to her so that she can set them aside while he goes in for more.]
no subject
Are we making something that can find the TARDIS?
[She can only assume that's what this is all about, and so she just stays on the subject as if she's actually of some use to it.]
I've been checking as many rooms as possible. I've crossed off all the ones I've seen so far. No luck. [A pause, as she frowns.] Nope. [Her arms cross over her chest.] None.
no subject
You see I got the sonic to work, that's what I've been doing these past few days you see, and the thing of it is I don't think she's here. I've tried to sense her and I've even tried to get the sonic to find her but there's nothing. But, I don't think she's far. I feel she's stuck.
[This worries him because he hates to think of her stuck somewhere and he hands Clara a mess of jars and returns to the closet for more, still speaking though there are odd words thrown in. Things that don't sound familiar or might be in another language all together.]
But I believe I've been able to find a solution. Garadin Core please! Something that might be able to pull her towards me here. Arisiningarlic dust if you would. And if I have her, well, I'll be able to sort something out I should think.
no subject
Stuck? [But that doesn't sound good, not at all. She doesn't like the idea of the TARDIS all the way out there somewhere, lost and stuck and alone. She may have been a jealous old cow that hated her, but the TARDIS was a loyal thing and had saved them over and over again.
She's not quite sure if the Doctor is asking her or the closet for the things that she doesn't quite understand the names of, so she stands there with her mess of jars and looks a cross between confused and elated.]
We'll pull her back. [She says this as if she doesn't have a doubt in the world, or in his abilities. But still, there's something that's nagging at her, something in the back of her mind after the last conversation she had with Martha.]
Doctor? When you have the TARDIS again. You'll take me with you, won't you?
no subject
He nods at her question about the TARDIS being stuck and smiles at her reassurance. It's needed right now. To be quite truthful he's as much worried about she herself as he is what would happen if the wrong people were to get their grubby little hands on her. He wants her back and is doing just about anything he can to make it so.
But he does stop for a moment with his fretting and his gathering to look at Clara when she asks if he'd take her if he left. There's a frown and he puts the things he's carrying down with the other mess of stuff he's gathered.]
I will do everything in my power to not leave you here. I swear by it.
no subject
[She tries to explain herself, but cuts herself off, biting down on her lip. With him standing there in the mess of all his new things, the sight reminds her of the night she spoke to him for the first time. He was outside with all sorts of things, promising to protect her.
The memory is a bit bittersweet, given that this Doctor doesn't share it with her, but that doesn't stop her from moving forward to hug him.]
I'll get us some tea. You'd like that, wouldn't you? We can stay up working until we figure this out.
no subject
[It's clear in the tone he uses that he means what he says. He'd never just leave you Clara, never in a million years and just because their time line is, well, a little skewed to say the least that doesn't mean he'd just abandon you here. That's a promise.]
Tea. Tea is good. Come we can bring it to my room so I can still work. I'm afraid I wont be settled until I have this all done and sorted.
no subject
It's a date, then. Tea and sorting and building. Sounds perfect!
[And despite not quite knowing where his room is, she's taking the lead and heading toward her door. Except she can't exactly open it with both arms laden down with his stuff.]
no subject
Enough of that! Do I always let you do that? I do the leading you know.
[And with that he's sliding out the door and off towards the steps that'll eventually lead them to the top floor and towards his room.]
no subject
[She follows him out, and after making sure her door shuts she's trailing along after him until she's at his side. She's got a bounce to her step as they move, and although her eyes are up on him quite often, she's actually paying close attention to where they're going so she can drop in and visit him sometime.]
I stay where you tell me to, though. You always seem to like it when I do that.
no subject
[He just huffs as he makes his way up the stairs, all the way to the top, and then a good portion down the hall. He wanted to be as out of the way as possible and this seemed as good a place as any. The truth of it is he is a lousy neighbor, Clara was right when she stated that. Out of the way is the best place for him.
Once they're there he sets everything down and uses the sonic to unlock the door. It's not that he doesn't trust people, most wouldn't have a clue what all of this was for, but he'd been working awfully hard for days to make sure everything was just right. He wouldn't want someone accidentally mucking things up.]
Of course I would! It's really, truly, my only rule. Don't wander of. It's not as though I say it for my own benefit and yet it's the only rule no one seems to follow!
no subject
[She reminds him in a sing-song tone, walking past him into his room to look around. She wants to remark that he's made himself a nice little bell tower all the way up at the top, but that probably would bring up some monster references and she definitely doesn't think of him as a monster. So she keeps her mouth shut and goes to set down her armload of things next to some of his other stuff.
Her eyes slowly look around, and she realizes it really is a mess in here. The nanny in her starts getting to work right away, picking up after him and trying to sort things into neat rows.]
Have you thought about what you'll do if this doesn't work? Not that it won't. But having a plan is good, isn't it?
