[The Doctor's room looks like a total junk heap.
He'd managed to find a fairly good sized room on the top floor of this place, and in less than a week he had turned it into a dump. There were metal bits and bobs everywhere. Wires thin and thick connected to several different power sources. There were things that might look familiar to some and other things that looked, and were, out of this world or any world one might be familiar with.
He fiddles with the cellphone like thing for a moment and then it seems to spring to life. This is his first time using it, though he had played with it a little since being here. Hopefully it's working. It's probably the only thing in his room he hasn't completely dismantled.]
Hello there! This might sound a bit strange but, I come to you with a quick question so I do hope this works.
I seemed to have broken my closet. Or perhaps I just overworked it. [It's more likely the latter given the huge amount of stuff he's pulled from his own already. They're put here to appease them but apparently the Doctor is too hard to please.]
Might I borrow someone elses for a bit? I promise I'll stay out of the way. I only need a few more things, hopefully.

[Hey, you've always been a smart one Luke but you're young. You've still a lot to learn. And that's not a bad thing! Not at all. The Doctor remembers when he was young and everything was still so exciting and new. He's too old now. It's moderately depressing.]
Well, think of it a bit like a magnet. Not a transport. The idea is to pull something towards me because to be quite truthful I've thought about this place a bit and I don't think mechanics work the same way here. So the idea of rather than getting the TARDIS to transport herself here, which is basically impossible, I can... well I suppose drag would be the not so nice way of putting it, her back to this point. Because she's not here but I don't feel as though she's that far away. I think she's stuck.
[He actually sounds terribly worried about the TARDIS being stuck.]
But any remarks that are clever or interesting or funny are abandoned, because right now all he can think of is that old companion fallback line.]
Doctor? It's really you?
[Well he's been a bit busy admittedly! Not to mention he didn't know you were here. He was warned, or perhaps informed is a better term, about his companions but to see you was a delightful surprise.]
Re: [video]
[He's getting the feeling a long time has passed for the Doctor since they last saw him, if he's forgetting Clyde's name, of all people's. But that's not important right now, what's important is that the Doctor is here and finally there's hope that everything is going to work out after all.]
It's the artron energy, right? That's what you said last time. That the TARDIS couldn't appear because it had an equal opposite reaction to places outside time. Outside reality. Like here. Is that right?
[He likes strong willed sorts but there is a point to almost being too much. No matter. He doesn't pop round to see you lot that often, admittedly, so it's not something that he'll have to worry about quite yet.]
Precisely. There's no possible way to get her to come to me without bending a few 'rules' so-to-say. What this machine will do, hopefully, is attract her to us. Provided I get everything down perfectly. I have a feeling this might be the most difficult search and rescue I've ever had to preform.
But you have an idea? D'you need help? I can do something, you've probably got loads of people offering cupboards, you know, the gang's all here. [The gang except Luke's mother, but Sarah Jane's absence is as much of a blessing as it is a curse. She doesn't need to be trapped in yet another nowhere dimension, after all she's been through.]
I can help.
I know you can, and truthfully I wouldn't mind having you aboard.
[As much as he doesn't mind being able to see his companions again it can all be a bit tricky at times. At least with Luke there's none of that awkwardness that one has to fight through to get anywhere.]
I'll come round to where you are and gather the last remaining pieces and you can help put it together with me?
[Right now, relief that the Doctor is absolutely, definitely going to save them all is mingling with the joy that someone around here appreciates how he's relatively smart and competent and experienced. He has only goodwill to offer the Doctor. Right now.]
Oh you're all the way down. No matter. I'll be there as quick as I can.
[And he's true to his word because within just a few minutes he's knocking on your door. At least he's being polite about it. He doesn't know you quite well enough to just barge in like he might some others.]
He practically runs across the room to answer the knock, and then decides to have a minute to stare at him before he invites him in. Not every day you get to see the Doctor in the flesh.]
Doctor! Hi.
